      In some ways CGI and digital compositing doesn't seem to have improved that much in the last twenty years or so. How good it is now mainly comes down to how much time and money is invested in it. You're absolutely right - if that's not enough, it can still look atrocious.
      There was obviously a lot of investment here. It does look incredibly good for 1996, and holds up very well now.

      There were several times in this scene where Ethan was screwed and Krieger ironically saved his life a couple of them. If Krieger doesn't do the quick thinking to fly the attached chopper into the tunnel, then it crashes and explodes outside the tunnel with the debris probably killing both Ethan and Jim in the process. Then if Krieger just slows the chopper down instead of trying to kill Ethan with the blades, there's no way Ethan would have been able to jump onto the chopper and he'd instead be stuck on a speeding train hanging on for dear life while Jim and Krieger get away.

    That moment you realize Tom Cruise in 'Mission: Impossible 7' was the same age as Jon Voight was in this movie:

    Even though this is obviously so over the top, the way it's been shot looks so much more "grounded" and realistic compared to everything shown in the latest one. I wish we would have gotten more movies like the first MI. MI3 comes close though.

    When Tom Cruise pastes the explosive on the helicopter, was he commiting suicide but by pure chance the explosion threw him back on the train,
    Or did he perfectly calculate that the blast of the explosion would throw him back on the train ?

    The Channel Tunnel is only 1 bore per direction, so 1 x 1 track tunnel to france and vice versa. For safety reasons the 2 tunnels are separated with only a very few crossovers and a walking safety / mantenance access tunnel

    Both Phelps and Krieger died a very painful death.

      Krieger got a body full of fire and glass. Jim avoided that because he was under the chopper but then he got the full weight of it smash him into the rail.
      Yeah, both were hurt

      To be fair this is a bullet train the one in MI7 is the orient express an older train who’s speed isn’t any where near this one that’s why they were able to stand up and fight on top of train

    • @horrorfanandy4647
      @horrorfanandy4647 ปีที่แล้ว

      This train is going much faster than the Orient Express could ever hope to. Therefore it’s not at all unreasonable that they could climb on top.
