- At the start of the year I began my journey to become certified scuba diver. I completed the PADI open water dive course in Laguna with Beach Cities Scuba. It was a really rewarding experience and I had so much fun learning to dive. Looking forward to many more dives!

I recently finished the PADI open water diver course. I am addicted to adventure "always moving towards gun fire" since childhood and the one thing I wanted the most was being able to spend long time under water. SCUBA was an unmatchable experience. It pretty much feels like a super power to be able to breadth under water. I made a video of my first recitational scuba dive but not the training part. After seeing this video it felt like a crash course . Amazing retention, clean edit, subtle and peaceful ending. Have a great day.
If you like that check out GUEs Fundamentals Course. This course can be done in doubles with nitrox. If you do it then everything is open. Tech, cavern and cave, mixed gases, CCR etc.

It's one of the greatest things that YOU have ever decided to do in your lifetime. I should know because I'm also a Scuba Diver myself, I had a chance to Sign up for a Scuba Diving class near Memphis, TN. completed all of the book assignments, pool assignments, & then completed 2 Open Water dives in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. I had gotten my OW certification in 2006 then again in 2011 I think then did lots of scuba diving refresher course. I'm planning to do it again but don't know many people who would do scuba diving with me. I did mine in a wetsuit with cold water in Vancouver BC Canada. I didn't wear a drysuit. I can't wait to do scuba diving again. Hope someday to go scuba diving with u

I can't even swim normally, let alone think of deepdiving! Didn't know there was all this preparation and training though, for some reason I thought it's be shorter. Great video!
Hahaha it’s quite the process! And I think PADI is one of the fastest courses too.
I heard that you have to tread water for ten minutes as part of the basic swimming test, are you allowed to rest on your back at all?
This almost as good as if were like a show on PBS.

Hey, I'm thinking of doing the open water course and finishing it up on our honeymoon but not sure if it'll take too much time. How long did the open water dive take? i know it says normally its two days but is it two full days or do you still have time afterwards to relax?
It was from about 5am/6am till noon each day when I did my open water. It was only two dives each day

Did you have to do a swim test before getting all your gear in the pool? If so, how was it?
They did not have us do a swim test until after training. Mostly to test our endurance and make sure we could make it back to shore in case anything happens.

Hi i just found your channel, very nice job but here is some mistakes!! first of all instructor and you you have tinted mask its a big no no,the first thing you need to see is the eyes you can understand a lot..when you take your equipment off 1st you take waightbelt of cause its dragging you down!! bcd gives you lift,,ok i know was pool but it is habbits!!!well done love

how much did the whole process cost you?
The course was $450 and it did require fins, mask/snorkel, boots in advance. So the basic gear can run $300-400. It’s a pretty penny up front, but so worth it!
Have you continued with training since this?
I have only had the opportunity for a few dives. I started a new job shortly after this video and haven’t had the time. But I hope to go diving more this coming summer!!
