Have you got a SCUBA diving certification? Did you go with SSI or PADI? Where is the best place you’ve gone diving? 🤿

Thank you so much! 😊 This was something I was quite scared of doing so I am really happy to have done it. Yes, I look forward to creating some under water videos.

Great video, I did the OWD 2021, sometimes the divecenter don't have a pool, so they go directly to open water, mostly close to the beach, where they know it's save, so you would be around 4m.
You explain everything correct, but there is something little which most instructor forgets, form time to time you should repeat the skills, the point is, it's quite easy to remember until the exam, but what about a year later? To be honest, I did a few month the same exam again in the App, just to check how much did I remember, this is a huge benefit of SSI, you could do your exam on the app again and again.
I just skipt to PADI, because to me SSI is bit slow until AOWD.
I went often lake diving, quite often when I did my AOWD, so it was great to be able to go to 30m, but last year I did my deep diver, the reason was, some dive guides (divemaster PADI) went almost creasy when they saw I was at 31m or 32m. But if you knew, 30 salt water is 31m fresh water, to be honest it isn't a big deal if you where at 31m if you were just allowed to go to 30m.
Even open water. Just Imagine a huge wave, you would be easely between 25m-33m if there were a wave, secoundly. Not every divecomputer are the same, so +/-1m is still save.
But the did such a big deal, so I did my deep diver, I recommend to do if you feel ready, some divemaster would told you to get at least 50 dives first, but this is wrong, you should do the deep diver for your self, believe me you feel much more save while diving, it doesn't mean you had to go this deep every single time. Same with rescue diver, you do it for your self, you would be a much better dive buddy. Experiance comes later.
Fun fact, I don't believe a rescue diver who get it with 100 dives were a better rescue diver then the one with 50 dives. Because both just lean it, the diffents comes later, if you got 100 dives, you would have the rescue diver since 50, so while you did the other 50 dives, you look for the signes, so you know which sign could end in a dangerous situation.
I guess you understand what I mean.

Thank you, Grace a very helpful video for folks just getting started with open water diver certification. However, based on your title I was expecting more of a comparison of PADI vs SSI 😞

I noticed on the SSI online courses. There are the six you’re talking about but then there’s also the final exam is that the final exam or is that something different?
