My mother had an almost identical one.
It was often faster walking or riding our bicycles than be driven anywhere.
Once you got off the street we lived on we had to enter a fairly busy street and oftentimes we waited for quite a while until there was a big enough gap to enter traffic.
It was even worse with the air conditioning on which I remember was dealer installed and just recirculated interior air you had to keep the window cracked a bit to get fresh air into the car.
But the thing was as tough as old leather and ran forever.

One of the top 10 vehicles produced in the 1900s, it's that special. Legendary, robust, reliable, will go on forever, as bulletproof as the Merc W123.

In Egypt, we called it the flying coffin…. The sedan is everywhere. They run forever.

In Zimbabwe we called it the "Fibre " Damn thing would go on a shoestring budget. The higher end ones had an 8 blade fan that would literally scream when you revved it

I love them I love those big bulky French station wagons, this was the best station wagon I ever had, No2 was the Citroën Xantia Estate which was also a great car. This is a wonderful early example with the 'old' style dashboard.

Was popular in North Yemen as a taxi in late 70s. Also my dad used to own a diesel GRD sedan in Zaire in late 80 early 90s. Iconic car.

Many a flying fist from my father did that third row seat save my brother and me from back in the early 80s. It will always have a place in my heart. 🤣

Lutton! My 'dad-swing-delivery' vehicle was a Volvo station wagon! Thanks for sharing the mix of love and trauma from our childhoods!

Had a well worn oone of these in the late 80s. only thing i had to change was the drivers door which had basically rusted away. got a "new one"at a scrap yard. Just used to get in and go.would havve another no bother.

This ride has found a new home already. We do not currently have any Peugeots in stock, but we add 70-100 vehicles each week. This link is updated daily - www.gatewayclassiccars.com/new-arrivals

This one is not a Wagon but a Family model.

The rear end looks more lower than the stock

@@sssfusa This is normal. The wagon is a 5-seater with a high load capacity while the family has 8. When empty, the wagon is a little higher.
