So glad you explained all of that! I didn't know all of the details behind the healthcare differences, but I know the differences exist because I have friends who live in France. We compare healthcare stories, and they're always stunned by the amount I spend for virtually nothing. It's one of the *many* reasons I'm planning the move to Italy!
Hi Jennifer! If you talk to anyone they will say that they heard the healthcare in Europe is not good- socialism is bad for healthcare, no doctors, wait long for care, and so on. All which is definitely not true. If you are in Italy and have an emergency and they cannot handle you at the local hospital they will fly you to a hospital that can. But most hospitals in the area even in the south are good and are well equipped to handle any emergency. They may not look brand new with 10 million dollar lobbies but they have good doctors that give you treatment based on what you need not what a corporate representative dictates that they do. It is very different from the US in that you don't need to keep going back to the doctor like in the states so you keep paying for visits- they try to take care of the problem right away. Thank you so much for watching!
Jennifer this is one of your best videos, I’m so glad you exposed the drug companies to what they really are, here in the US doctors only push drugs, I lived in Italy for many yrs never did I need drugs, I have been here for 25 years and I’ve been on cholesterol and blood pressure meds…love your videos…..
Hi Jennifer. Are you both back in Italy now? We are in Salve at the moment. We just started our retirement journey three weeks ago. We are traveling at the moment but are in the process of buying a property in Molise.
Do you know anything about compounded bio identical thyroid in Italy? My wife has Graves Disease and has to live on this and has not read anywhere online that it is something she can get there. She is allergic to Synthroid. Also are there no copays if you have a plan there?
Hi ib! You can get bio identical compounded thyroid meds in Italy- there is a pharmacy in Milan called Metalla- if you can send them an email asking the same question you asked me and what the cost would be if it is not something that is covered- it wouldn’t be too expensive these pharmacies charge around less than half of what it is in the US

US too much money for the wrong things! Thank you for commenting Riccardo!
Healthcare is an expensive and poorly run business in the United States.
Hi Vincent! It will continue to be this way in the US unless the lobbyists get out of Washington- which will never happen!!
@@salvesalento I agree with you 100%
