    Can’t compare to the Turbo 2 as I only have some Turbo 1. While I agree with you on most parts of the video, I’m not sure I rate the turbo as highly compared to these two. I agree about durability and versatility being very strong points, but I enjoy the midsole and comfort more in both the Streakfly and Rebel V2. Maybe if I had the Turbo 2, I’d feel differently.
    The Rebel, for me, is just a fun, super easy shoe to pick up and run anything in. The streakfly is a wonderful shoe for reps and intervals from my brief experience and if this price stays for general release, I will be using them very regularly.
    At the end of the day, all 3 are amazing shoes and we are very lucky to live in an era where we have such a vast choice of incredible footwear to choose from.
    As an aside, I ran a hill session in the Takumi Sen 8 this morning after Tuesday’s session in the streakfly. The underfoot feel is so different. The Sen feels like it gives more roll and assistance with the rods and firmer midsole. The Stteakfly is like having a pogo stick under each foot. Streakfly wins on price and upper comfort though. Outsole grip is insane on both. Durability remains to be seen.
    Sorry for the essay. 🤣🙃

      Firmer midsole of the Sen (and rods in the forefoot) is the biggest difference. For my stride and gait cycle that's even a deal breaker: rebel v2 and streakfly are too flexible and lack of density in the forefoot for their geometry with 6mm of drop. I can see people with high cadences enjoying them more though. Thanks for the great essay, enjoyed reading it as always ;-)

    Love your review. Still have my Peg Turbo 2, my all-time favorite shoes. I have yet to try my Rebel v2. I really thought that FuelCell is a modified EVA. I was wrong. Thank you for the info. I’m still not a big fan to be honest. It’s not a racing flat, it’s too soft and mushy for that. No pros are using it for short distance racing which shows to me that it didn’t work as they had planned

    Interesting that you find the Rebel 2 and Streakfly Ride so similar. Maybe the Streakfly is a shoe I might consider sometime down the road as I love the Rebel 2. The Turbo Nature is also looking interesting though.

    • @AlexFilitti

      Out of the three the Turbo nature is the one that should be the firmest in the forefoot and that's what the two others have wrong in my opinion (at least for my stride)

    Great review. Was waiting for it.. Regarding the fit. The Streekfly midfoot (outsole) is much narrower then the Rebel V2. How does it feel inside the shoe? If you place the insole on each other any difference?

    So if I was happy doing longer slower runs in the rebel 2 will the streakfly be okay? The slightly too soft a foam from the rebel meant I got plantir issues, so i'm curious if the streakfly would be a better replacement. I've heard the midfoot shank helps with stability in the midfoot area and prevents too much compression like in the rebel. Thanks for any info.

  • @isidrotormogarcia4879
    @isidrotormogarcia4879 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, Alex. Rebel perhaps are too much ground contact. For me is the potential low point in Fuelcell material. Indeed the energy return and the momentum between zoomX and Fuelcell is very clear for Nike foam. No comparison. The unique shoe that compares is Metaspeed. But there is other story. Peg Turbo is only comparable in terms of ride and rebound with Endorphin Speed, best trainner shoe that I have.

    • @Lyingfigure

      To me, ground contact is the main positive about the rebel v2, in fact it's the only reason it's in my rotation.

    Bought the rebels v2 little while back. As soon as i put them on I know they where not for me. Way too wide and a bit short. The upper was to loose just didn't fit my foot. I do however really enjoy my mach 4's but there more of my long run shoe. Unfortunate about your thoughts on the streakfly..... So many direct comparisons by numerous people to the Rebel V2, cements the fact I won't go near that shoe. I still haven't hit 100KM in my Rebel V2, since my posterior tib area aches after every run in the Rebel V2, and I think I have had them since May 2021. Yet my Adios 6 are over 200KM since middle of December 2021. I'm considering trying something similar to the Adios 6 next, like the Mizuno Waverider 25 or maybe the Wave Rebellion. Basically, neutral with stability aspects to reduce the medial/lateral instability.

    Either the point system doesn’t work or you hate the rebel v2? My only complaint on the rebel v2 is instability. I don’t know if I would label the peg turbo as a durable shoes, since they’re starting to feel like racing flats after 100 miles. But then I weight 205 lb so that can play a role.

      That's why shoe reviews are good for description, but each one have his preference.
      Alex seems didn't like the invincible either, which like the rebel have a very soft midsole and no stability feature ; and the 2 shoes are both highly rated shoes for their ride and midsole.

    • @AlexFilitti
      @AlexFilitti  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question, Joshua. Can it do that? Yes. Is it the most appropriate shoe? No. Mile paces can work well if you don’t have the need for a rigid push off in your gait cycle and want to work on your ankle/feet strength

    I really like your reviews but sometimes they show how different every runner feels for the same type of shoe. I'm a die-hard Pegasus Turbo I fan using mostly long workouts, half marathons and full marathons. The Turbo 2, exactly like the one you have in your hands, is one of the biggest disappointments for me. I live in Brazil, but if I lived near you I would even give you mine as a gift, because we have the same number and mine is practically new. I did several comparative workouts with my turbo I and turbo II believing it was just a bad impression, but no. For me they are two completely different shoes and the Turbo II is a horror. Everything about it for me is different from the turbo I even the energy return. The NB Rebel 2 is a nice shoe to run, very soft and great for training of various types, being for me infinitely superior to the Turbo II, although inferior to the Turbo I. Unfortunately, the new model from Nike StreakFly, has not yet reached the Brasil, but if it compares to the Turbo II, then I don't intend to buy it. But naturally I will be analyzing other evaluations before a final decision.

    So odd!! How come there is so much hype around this Turbo???
    It was no go for a long run, bottoming out quickly it felt like running on flat rubber.
    Durability? - so narrow that both uppers have ripped on both sides. No more than 100km clocked. Expensive km.
    Now, I fall victim of this hype... cause I also can't wait to see the next Turbo. 😄
