I absolutely love the comment she made about people being snobby and "so high school" because I totally feel like a lot of the adult world seems that way and it takes a teen who infiltrates it to see that. Tavi is so rad.
It doesn't really need a teen to see it that way. Specifically she was commenting on the high couture fashion world; she just basically, and indirectly, show that it's ironic, that an industry that fetishes with hyper individualism and self-expression through art has a group think mentality.
I used to dress weird in middle school and i was too picked on i was at a vulnerable state so I stopped unfortunately. But she is so inspirational i want to dress like myself again.
It's 2024, I accidentally found this video (I liked Tavi when I was a teen) and saw your comment and realized that I also was dressing weird in middle school. Your message inspired me to try to dress weird again in my 30s. Hope you are doing well 💗
So mature!!! Love this part: You have to stay realistic about it. I'm not gonna go to a show like everyone's acting all snobby and pretend that its cleverness like its kinda pathetic it so high school!
Ive been admiring Tavi since i first read about her in teen vogue when i was eleven years old and she still amazes and inspires me at the age of sixteen
I feel like since she’s matured into a young woman she has stopped dressing “interestingly”. I looked up more recent interviews of her and she’s got fashion that is looking like any other girl in their 20’s. I was surprised to see she didn’t keep it up...her sense of style.
@@jomoland I mean everything she’s wearing now is still her sense of style. She never abandoned anything from her youth, she just grew up and developed another style. She’s 27 so obviously she’s not going to dress the same way she did when she was like 12-16. You’ll even notice that some of her outfits on IG still reflect the quirkiness of her rookie era outfits, like mixing prints and patterns.
OH MY GOSH. a dream came true. thanks stylelikeu :) I love her, her attitude and her her book yearbook one - it gave me the feeling that i am not the only person that kinda feels a bit the same way and that i am not totally alone in this mean strange and really confusing world.
I used to dress like her, almost until college, when I enter the "adult world" thinking I had to be different meaning like the rest of the world, thats when I completely loose myself, now Im trying to go back (at 45 ) to those days and I get self conscious when I go out but I have realized people is too busy with their own lives they dont pay any attention and those who criticize is bc they wanna be you but they dont dare. Dont you ever Quit Being You.
I get those backhand compliments all the time! I’ve always dressed “different” or “unique” my mom used to say, when I was a little girl, you’re wearing That to school?? Lol well, I absolutely love your style, and outlook. I have a tattoo across my collarbone, “ Not born to be perfect, just born to be me”…
BTW I would say that it would´ve been interesting to see the things in her room -books, CDs, other stuff- in more detail -for they have so much to do with clothes, ideas, etc
omg someone pleeease help me by filling me in on where she got that amazing yellow button up shirt, the one she said her teacher commented on. I can't find anything close to it online anywhere!?

Relished... like the hot dog condiment?
It's also a verb meaning, "to take pleasure in; like; enjoy."
I thought she meant to say revel and was nervous and instead said relish, like the hot dog condiment.
The more you know tho right?
