Thanks Puddin what a great find no not the press no me stumbling upon your format. As always interesting and informative, It's like I was wondering around your shop, l for one give you many thumbs up. But back to the question you know you got yourself one awesome deal on that press even if it needed a little tweaking. So I figured she the little Woman she's right this time. Well worth watching....🎉🎉🎉😊
Nice video , quite a process. the machine work was interesting .The fixtures worked really nice and made it possible to turn out exactly what you wanted.I built a model A truck a while ago and I cheated , took the main leaves to the spring shop. They did a nice job and the price was not hateful. I didn't know about taking every other leaf , good piece of information. Thanks
Love all your videos but this one was special. I had a friend his name was PV that had a 34 ford same color but had a toyota hemi (1970's) in it. Same wheels too. I smoothed out the rear stock splash pan on it. It also had a 2 gear chain drive steering on the firewall, to get around the hemi exhaust, grear car. He passed 7yrs ago and the car went to Canada. I'm 83 and really miss him. I'm driving a 1929 roadster that's the pan is 2 1/2 inches off the ground. The reason I know is I was doing the rear spring lowering thing you just did, and when i push it backwards I had the springs that I had just pull out the pack laying on the ground and I pushed them out of the garage while moving backwards. So I hope you're still doing the same thing at 83, it doesn't get old, Jim
I've building hotrods since 1973... we might've met at a couple of times at the NSRA Nationals! My cars made the magazines with the new owners but I specialized in Model A's particularly Roadsters and I love that Black 29 in your shop! I currently have a 31 Roadster that I purchased from the Grandson of the original buyer. The body is solid but primed in Gray with a 1960s Roll and pleated red leather interior. Basically I did what you have done to the springs and rebuilt the banger in it with 1935 Wire wheels and I'm running the same tire sizes... absolutely love that look! Glad I stumbled upon your channel! Good thing you're passing on these old hotrod tricks for the next generation. I feel like I hit the fountain of youth in 2000 when I discovered the HAMB and now I'm happy to see these videos on TH-cam!
You gave him an open ended offer, he didn't have to accept. He did accept it, you honored it. He was happy, you were happy, I don't see anything wrong with the deal!? Shoot, it's always an craps shoot when it comes to buying used equipment. I mean look at what it came of when you went to use it. If you paid the full price would he have discounted it if you took it back? I mean if a guy had to pay for all that machining and knowledge to 'fix' that busted press, what would that have costed? Nah, you did just fine and good on you for being able to fix it to work for ya. Great How-to on swapping the spring eyes, that's great info! Someday I'll have all the equipment to be able to do all of that. It turned out pretty darn nice though!
Greetings from the UK Pudding. Yeah, that sure was a great deal for the press. Saving that extra bit of cash means you have plenty left over to take your young lady out for a nice meal😂 that's bound to get you extra points and she will see a benifit to saving some cash, cool video well explained and excellent work as always ❤
I see the press deal like this: Doubtful that brother in law paid anything for it so he made 200 bucks. I've always heard of "reversing the eye" of a spring but never knew how it was done. My thought was actually unrolling the eye and re rolling it! ???? Once you started talking about it, I had an "a-HA!" moment. I get it now. It's actually re-arching the spring. If the trip to the metal store was the Saturday after Thanksgiving...it's not surprising it was closed. I forget too, that there is a contraption one can use to actually call someone and talk to them over a wire. Telleofone, I think they are called. Though now days ya don't even need a wire! LOL That is a sa-WEET 29 A model. And cowboy hat guy was Boyd Coddington.
Great video on how to reverse the spring eyes. Actually, best one I've seen. Can you fit the Model A rear spring into your little press to reverse those spring eyes?
By that one photo, I thought it might be a little larger than my coffeemaker and would likely have made a similar offer. Sometimes, 'how much it's worth' is supercedes by 'how much someone wants it gone'. If the seller's arm was twisted to accept your offer, it was by an unseen, unnamed third party.
Your cars are sweet. but stickers in the window? nope, sorry.butt ya did a fare-deal. Seen this before,,good treasure in the woods. got many good things that are gold to me.
You got ripped off the seller didn’t include a bottle of that Dickel Tennessee whiskey! Or was it the seller had sampled a bit too much and took your offer in a confused state?
im thinking since you got a good deal on the press and since you got such a cute wife you should just give her an extra 100 bucks just 4 being so good looking, lucky man...
That's a Fair deal for the press. Thanks for the entertaining video's. I really enjoy show Puddin Creek. Keep up the great work.
A good deal is when both parties are happy
He was happy to sell it
You were happy to buy it
We can learn a lot from you thnx 🙏👍❤🍺🍺 cool video as always

Good deal. You made an honest offer and he took it. He was happy to get rid of it and you were happy to get it. Win win. Can’t beat that.😊
Wow that's cool as hell yeah man that sounds great job ❤❤❤❤❤
Fair deal.
No you didn't realize he just wanted to get rid of it😂😂😂

Haven’t tried, but doubtful. Those rear main leafs have a lot of shape. Thanks for watching our channel!
Great job buddy. I think you gave the guy a fair price for the press even though you had to modify it tell the little woman to cut you some slack
🙌🙌🙌
"Cool"😎👍
You wife was right you should of manned up and done the seller right!!
Good deal
Take the lil woman out for dinner to make up for what you saved on the press.

@@puddingcreekrodshop O.K.,THANKZ. keep your rod on the dirt.

Yes 1950 Desoto Hemi.
You got ripped off the seller didn’t include a bottle of that Dickel Tennessee whiskey! Or was it the seller had sampled a bit too much and took your offer in a confused state?
Its probably the reason that I don't have a woman, but I think that most women don't understand understandings, between men.
Hank Jr. ?
The Reaves Brothers. Check them out. Read deal country.
$400 was more fair. That is a heck of a tool.
You can't rip someone off if they accept an offer. Man could've said no or ok let you know.
