Like the video, very helpful, but the price of replacement? And i already have LED light can I change out and replace with another one? My son said it was same price as the fixture, but why, it's only 2yrs old?

Thank you for your interest in my video. The LED in the video cost me about 9 US dollars. By the way I live in Thailand, so the price in the US may vary. And yes you can replace one LED with another as long as you replace it with the same type. The LED you saw in my video requires no ballast or starter, but some LEDs aka “plug and play” are designed to work with ballast. If you want more brightness in your room or some fancy features such as color-changing like mine, then you have a reason to replace your 2 yrs old LED. Otherwise, let it live for another 3-4 years. 😁

Isn't it just a matter of replacing circular bulbs? I just replaced the light bulb from fluorescent to LED and removed the starter (otherwise it flashes) and it works! Am I missing something here?

In a way, you are right. But, I didn’t intend this video just to be a Fluorescent-to-LED light replacing demonstration. Otherwise, it wont be worth 11:38 minutes of your time. The objectives of my video are 1) Showing rationalization towards a shift to LED tech 2) How to get around problems trying to install a new LED light, which doesn’t have the same form factor as the original fluorescent although I am aware that by simply getting an LED with the same form factor as the original fluorescent will make my life much easier. Overall, you can look at my video as a demonstration of how to fit two things(the LED and the fixture) that were not designed for each other. Thank you for comment.

@@toughastank OK. I just bought and replaced my kitchen circular LED light and wondered if I did something wrong after seeing you go through all that trouble replacing fluorescent with LED. Thanks for sharing.
