My theory is the Owl is representative of Safi as her spirit animal in this game, we tend to always see them right before or after their associated character dies or experiences tragedy or needs guidance.
I agree, Safi seems to be the owl, Chloe was the butterfly and Rachel was the doe or deer
I'm going to be very honest here, I think people/fans are raising the bar too much, because the game is still a standalone, it can't go into all the holy details, and as they themselves mentioned in the live, this honor will be via interactions and so on, and I think that's it, for them to include characters like Chloe and Rachel within such a huge plot just because one person chose Bae wouldn't work and it would be ANOTHER game, and I understand that many will be disappointed, but I have my expectations directed towards new things and then I know everything will go well
I don't disagree! I do think some of the theories get out of hand and people get too attached. That can totally lead to disappointment if it doesn't work out the way they fantasize. Just like idealizing a person and then realizing that isn't really them. It's fun to think about theories, but It's definitely important we remain open! (...saying that, I do have 1 theory that would actually make it ALL work truly, and if it's right.. wow.. it would be phenomenal! )
The Thing is if They say this is off the Bay ending we could live with it and she goes on. As is they themselves said we are Respecting both Endings when it's clear they are going Bay. Yes they don't want to upset anyone but Have we were High School sweet Hearts. Sorry but You just wipe out a Whole town that isn't High School Sweet Hearts that is we are together Forever.

Just a theory maybe the murderer is someone who is jealous of Safi's job offer/publishing offer and that they decide to kill her. Max's new powers and this new life is Strange sequel reminds me of Sandra Bullock's movie called Premonition.
I PERSONALLY THINK that Safis murder may be Mr Jefferson. Yes....Mr Jefferson....now I cannot be exactly sure of that but the owl is at the scene of safis death and just before. The owl is Mr Jefferson's spirit animal. I saw somewhere, in the cast of the game Mr Jefferson's actor was there. It's all speculation, but maybe just maybe it's Jefferson coming back for revenge. Maybe he somehow has powers that we don't know of or he's somehow doing it through his spirit animal: the owl. Looking over Max through the eyes of the owl, and the reason i think that could very much be the case is because the life is strange games, especially the first game is very symbolic.

The deer is Rachel’s (confirmed), We see Chloe’s is PROBABLY the Crows in BTS, but we never confirm

Imo the owl can be Safi’s spirit animal. We only ever really see them in game when the person dies (when max and Chloe die in different timelines in game 1 that’s when we first start seeing them)

@@NerdsPsychoticInterlude the thing is. It was never actually confirmed, but it's highly theorised. That's why I had said theory, it's only speculation afterall. I'm open minded to different theories and such, that's just mine. I personally think chloe is the blue butterfly, Rachel's is the doe ( Max's might be the doe too, not sure tho ) and jt would make sense. By the sounds of it, Max and Rachel had alot of similarities. So they could entirely share a spirit animal. It's not out of the realm of possibilities. I think the crow is William and the owl is definitely either Mr Jefferson or safi ( or both ) and we of course know the squirrel was Samuel 🤣 cant forget good old Samuel
In so many ways, Hannah Telle IS Max Caulfield. I don't think I could accept any other actor portraying her.
6:05 "She's been on her own for a while." She's been on the road for a while. That doesn't necessarily mean alone. LiS2 hints at them traveling together after the storm in the BAE ending.
I still think we choose between Bay and Bae before the start but that might just be me... Character desing wise also would suggest 28 is a ballpark if it's a lot less it has been rough years for Max, which is not impossible either...
I'm heard others feel like there's still an import or ending choice like in LIS 2, so you're not alone! Based on what they said in the Director Interview, it seemed very specific (to me) that they weren't doing that this time - that those decisions were based on the conversation with Safi. However, they could have meant that both are available. Maybe you can import IF you have a save file, and make the choice in conversation if you don't. I lean toward believing the decisions are only made in the conversation with Safi though because... what if someone imports a Save file or makes the Sacrifice choice before starting the game.. and then says something different to Safi during the conversation. That wouldn't make sense. But.. we'll see!! October can't come soon enough!
And yes, I agree on the age too. I actually think she looks more mid-thirties in some shots. Some she looks younger.
I want to know if Safi's publisher is the same one in New York who got Karen into a debt she couldn't repay when she didn't finish her manuscript. Ravensbury Press.
omg idk if you know this but i saw a post about it on twitter! the polaroid of chloe that max picks up in the trailer, is a separate clip. when you see max bend down and pick up the photo, then go to turn around, you can pause and see that she is actually holding an entirely different photo. it doesn’t have the white base like a polaroid, and its more wide in size. people say that it is the photo of chloe and max in lis2, since they can see a hint of chloes pink tank top and green hair. personally, i think they used two different clips to trick us. 😭
Adding onto this, there are also two different versions of the photo of Safi that Max puts on her photo wall. One shows up in the trailer and one in the live stream. (The photos on either side are the same, and the content is generally the same with Safi holding a microphone, but the backgrounds and angles are different) It seems choices effect which photos we get?

I like the fact there is no cannon ending, because I had multiple playthroughs with Max being interested in Chloe,beng interested in Warren,Both and Just friends. Every playthrough I decided to save Chloe because of the history Max had with her. Kate was the only reason I hesitated,I convinced myself she was still at the hospital and nowhere near ground zero.

I agree, I really like how they handled incorporating both of the endings into the new game. Even though I’m more of a pro-bae ending fan. Because come on you can’t waste all of that character building and time revolving Chloe, just for what exactly?Aside from that, the art-style change doesn’t bother me too much, I don’t have much of an attachment since the speaking animation of the early games bothered me and lacked emotion sometimes, yeah it looks nice but it felt awkward.
The new game seems to be going for an in-between realistic-and-stylizated(slightly) artstyle, it sorta reminds me of Until Dawn? But the eyes in LiS: DE are really something else. Everything seems to look better in terms of emotion and aesthetic. The point system of the previous games were good. I wouldn’t mind if this game’s point system is similar to LiS1 and True Colors’. Fans like us who like to explore everything, it’s the small things man.
Hmm, wouldn’t it be messed up if you could romance Chloe and pick the other timeline, who could do such a thing am I right? x) Also I only knew about that point system (phone wallpaper change and certain interactions with Steph) because of you, so many thanks for that. :)
The EYES! Yes.. they all have so much depth and get chills with the emotions they convey! And yes, I of course hope there's a solid point system!! LIS2 has an amazing one, but it's so complicated. I've played the end of Chapter 1 to the beginning of Chapter 2, 159 times and still haven't been able to test everything. I gave up lol...

I just realized that well, Deck Nine is doing literally something like what PS did with God of War, where in GoW 3 Kratos's story was "finished". And, well, created completely new story of Kratos in 2018 and Ragnarok with his backstory from previous 3 games occurring in greece mythology. Dont get me wrong i like this idea.

Max voice is much deeper and more mature in the original LIS .
There will be some involvement from Chloe. We already see a photo. There will be at least a some mention and where she is and what she is doing if she is alive. And maybe the timeline can make it so she is out there somewhere regardless who knows? Whether she has big or small role I’m certain it will be handled sensitively. I am mostly just excited to see Max again and I want to find out what happen to Safi and if we can save her. I hope the game will be a perfect ending to Max’s story and be crazy and exceed all expectation but even if not, I will have fun as long as I see her again and solve the mystery with her. I even liked True Colours 😭😂

The ui seems to change as we shift between timelines when the player is about to make a choice in the timeline where Safi is dead we can see the little double moons with the bottom one colored blue but in the timeline where Safi is alive the moon on the top has an orangish color. I think the moons are a big part of this game the announcement trailer also had double moons with similar colors

Hello, I'm new here! But before I subscribe, can I ask when the choices & consequences videos will be released, compared to the game's release? I'm terrified of spoilers D:

Oh! Great question, but don't worry about that. It takes quite awhile for me to test the game and find all the choices and consequences. I might release some videos that just show "immediate consequences" sooner - such as, what happens directly after you make a choice, but doesn't show what happens in the rest of the chapters. The full consequence videos will come much later, and there shouldn't be any concern of spoilers!
@@PlayingWithHeart Good to know! So, if we do get a surprising return of Chloe (or someone else), we can trust that you won't spoil it in the thumbnail or title? Just making sure because I've had bad experiences with some channels in the past :-(
1000% percent! I guess it would be possible for me to include questions about characters... like "is she back" type things, but I won't outwardly say big spoilers in the thumbnail or titles. I can also see a possibility that things like that could come up much much later after the game has been out awhile, but I don't see that being the case now. Everything would follow a very similar format to what I did for True Colors. As you're going through those videos, let me know if you think anything WOULD have spoiled things for you in titles/thumbnails before you played, and I'll take that as feedback for all new games. I really appreciate this question as it affects so many! (Also, I'm going to be creating fake/mockumentary conspiracy videos about double exposure soon. They would talk about characters returning, etc., but they're all parodies and not actually based in truth :)

It's obviously unavoidable to spoil at least _something_ from the game (like the choices themselves), so I really appreciate you won't immediately tackle them :) Here, I was mostly worried because of the early access - this will give so many TH-camrs so much time to spoil everything from the first two chapters T.T This even applies to pre-orders, since not everyone who does so will have time to play the game immediately.
When it comes to your TC videos, their titles obviously spoil the choices and the thumbnails hint at their importance ... but for obvious reasons, I wouldn't change anything about that :D You need to name the choices after all, and I really love how impressive the pure number of effects is :) Not to mention, the thumbnail pictures themselves are very friendly and don't give away anything of importance :)

Ok I'm not sure about this but the person pointing the gun at max in 17:04 is wearing a lavender-ish nail polish so I'm assuming it's a female officer not the detective.
Oh that does look a little lavender. It could just be the light reflection though. The person's sleeves matches the detective, so that's why I'm guessing it's him.. but it's definitely possible there's another character we haven't seen yet wearing something similar!

I doubt it's the detective. Even the hands look so feminine without considering the nail polish. We got 2-3 scenes where they showed the detective, this one kinda feels unrelated to them. I kinda have a theory about who the person might be 😉 but I don't have any proof so it's just a hunch

I don’t know how to feel about this game. Really wish this title can evolve more than amurder mystery with love interests. Life is strange 2 was the best iteration bc it had so many different focuses and plot lines that real life ppl can relate too with a fresh cast, new powers, and callbacks to the first game. True colors was cool too it was something fresh. Not hating just curious to see what happens. Great video 💫

LiS 2 was my favourite, and I didn't exactly enjoy True Colors. Everyone's perspective is different. I found other people who preferred LiS 2 to the LiS 1 as well.
Why did they say he for Max, instead of she? at 5:10?
I just feel like the fundamental qualities of Max’s personality and view on life would be totally different if Chloe were dead or alive, like if she were to be alive, then why is max not living her life with her, like to me it seems like it’s implied that the Bay ending is cannon no matter what like it makes for a much more impactful story. And if there are new love interest in this new game regardless then like what the fuck ?????? ( also rust belt mentioned !!!!!! I’m from there I’ve always imagine a life is strange game sort of based off our life styles) cmon lemme get some Midwest emo on the soundtrack 🙏🙏
On the romance I wonder if only Amanda will be the love interest since Max should be with Chloe in the bae path. I also wonder as the fandom
is split on Max being lesbian or bi 😅Just cause of the romance with Warren being a bit one sided (Max even writes she sees him as a brother and hopes he doesn’t make a move on her when she accepts the drive in date!😮 when she accepts it!!😱) she can kiss him in epi 5 but the fandom is split on if she was in the process of still figuring herself out in the way we see bts Chloe realize who she is and some think bi some think lesbian for Max. All we know for sure lol was all she could think about was Chloe more than anyone else throughout the game and in her journal 😄😅 So it makes sense to me many are divided on it. Which is why I wonder if they’ll just stick to a female romance option for Max on the bay path

The thing is, for me anyway, if Max and Chloe parted ways (in the timeline where she lives), then to me, saving Arcadia Bay becomes the only acceptable ending. Because personally I can't bear the thought of Chloe going through life alone and tortured by Survivor's Guilt.

@@PlayingWithHeart Well, I'd be happy if she were around 30 so that it would fit better with my theory of Max, Chris, and Daniel all being at Away at the time of the campfire photo in Redemption (which seems to be around when Daniel graduates - IIRC, that's how I deduced it was 2025, but I might want to double-check).

I know I know... sadly I bought it, but I'm too uncomfortable with the ongoing issues with their management to play it. I know all studios have issues, including Deck Nine, but it doesn't seem like they're addressing it. Easy to say for me because I'm not there. I just can't get over some big things and I've never been good about separating the art from the artist. I'm bummed about it too... I would've had a field day with those games!
