I have mine coming Tuesday. I don’t need anything above entry level as I might only use it once a week at the most but it can get a bit difficult with the jigsaw. I won’t be resawing anything as I have neither the room or strength due to upper body difficulties. The best thing about Screwfix is you can sort a return in a day usually. A great and informative review and subscribed.
Nice review thanks. I have had this bandsaw for about 4 months. I really like it, very useful and handy. It comes with. 1/4 inch blade (6mm) (6 teeth per inch) which I found to be a bit flimsy and wavered a bit in straight cuts. I bought a 3/8 inch blade (10 TPI) which made all the difference. Much better cut, especially on resawing. I bought it from The Bandsaw shop, on line. £14 inc all delivery postage etc. Well worth it, and got it next day.
Just purchased this and Getting it in next 2-3 days. The reason I got it is because I really want a band saw and the value of this one is brilliant. Wasn’t sure if to get it but then saw this video and you sold it for them. Thank you
a great video, I had some good advice off a furniture restoration guy once who told me if you use budget tools buy the best blades you can afford it makes a real difference
Thank you for the review and for your time, you’ve pretty much answered all my questions. I’ll pop into screwfix tomorrow and get myself one. I might adapt that fence. Kind regards
I have one of these and was looking for a video on 45 degree cutting with the table tilted . Would have been nice to see this in the review. Good review all the same, well done.
Just in passing - if you happen to live where Screwfix aren't delivering at the moment (like France where I live) the same machine is branded MacAllister and available in places like Brico Depot for the same price. MacAllister is listed as Kingfisher Products, which is the parent company for Screwfix. I went in to compare the MacAllister to the Titan and found that it was identical! Same machine.
Thanks for the review, I think that if they did a larger scale I would consider that because I want to resaw a bunch of logs. Seems like a great little bandsaw though, had no trouble with that oak!
yeah good stuff looking to mill wood from chainsaw milling a bit more ,can deal with the fence , depth of cut even with a good mill blade limited , but what would you recommend
I wanted a saw for cutting 6mm ply for a modelling project. I bought a table saw that doesn't have the strength of this. I have had Titan tools before and they can take an awful lot of abuse. Having seen this I shall buy one now rather than spend a lot of time fiddling about with the tablesaw which quite clearly isn't up to the job, ie it overheats and blows a fuse after a very short time. A cheap Chinese motor as against something rather more substantial. Good review, told me all I want to know.
Thank you for this review, Ive ordered mine and get it delivered tomorrow so i know what to expect .. have got the titan scroll saw last week and that's pretty good as well ... good video :-)
There is a very simple 5 minute mod to do to make the fence clamp down solidly. You just need to dismantle it and file a couple of raised holes flush and after that it clamps down rock solid. There are videos on YT showing how to do it.
It depends how its set up. Set mine up out of the box 3 years ago and despite removing it for different jobs it goes back in place with no adjustment required ! Is solid as a rock and can pull the saw around the w/shop (mobile base) without it moving !. Still using the original blade too, mostly pine but some oak.
@@barrysherwin3297 There is a common manufacturing issue with the fence out of the box, mine had it and the fence would not lock down properly at all just like the one in this video. I did the mod which literally took 5 minutes and it fixed the problem. The saw itself is pretty solid and for the money it is excellent, just the fence that let it down for me out of the box. But as I said a very easy fix.
@@paulround8501 Looks like I got lucky with my fence. Not so good with the mitre guide which has some sideways play and up to now the best cure is with thin tape but this does not last for too long as you can imagine. I will probably have to make a new runner from something (plastic) eventually but hey...its the first bandsaw i`ve owned and I am more than pleased with it.
Decent video but 12mm is not a 1/4". I have now bought one of these machines and it does indeed come with a 1/4" blade, which I have swapped for 1/2" or 12mm. after which, you are right - It copes admirably. So thanks!
I have had this saw for about a month now and have really enjoyed using it, I have been mainly cutting mahogany and Ash, of about 5cm thickness, it has managed this with no problem both with straight cuts and curved cuts. I think the blade it came with is probably not the best and will probably replace it with something a bit better. The machine works perfectly well providing you remember it is a bandsaw and not a table saw, this machine does slower cuts but can cut curves as well as straight cuts.
Dont get the screwfix recommended blade (Starrett 1575mm or 62inch blade) its too big. To cut my story short I measured the blade , it was 1583mm and there was insufficient ajustment on the saw to acommodate the oversize. The box the blade came in even had a label stating it was 1575 when it obviously wasnt.
Seems like a really fair deal, Titan stuff definitely isn't bad for the money. Looks to offer a bit more than some of the other budget hobby bandsaw offerings in the £80-£120 range. That table definitely looks more useful than some of the others, at least it's cast alloy and has a mitre slot for custom jigs etc. Might well pick one up for prepping blanks for the lathe, shame the depth of cut isn't a little bit more for deeper blanks.
Watch out for the plastic guide mechanism, it has soft plastic teeth and they get worn fast if you don't help lift mechanism with your hand when adjusting, also make sure you you do all the guide tighteners before each project and test it with a cheap bit of wood before you try an expensive or important piece.
Thanks for this review - it's great to have entry-level UK tools reviewed. It is draining to watch lots of north American reviews of brands we can't get readily here in the UK. Question: Did it take much to set up - did the wheels need installing / aligning, assembly of the blade guide? Thanks again.
Hi Jamie didn't take much to set up I just tensioned it up and adjusted the tracking and ensured the blade was square. It was all in the instructions and very simple. 👍🏼
you were up early fella! I bought a second hand jet bandsaw for £50 then realised I'd bought a pup, both tyres were knackered and the lower blade guide is missing! I wish I'd got an entry model like this instead.
Yes Alan 5 month old daughter likes to wake me at 05:30! It's always a lottery with 2nd hand tools some are great some useless, mind you some new ones are the same, I bought an electric brad nailer and wanted to bin it (wasn't that cheap either!).

I have a tacwise nailer also and it's crap. The nails virtually never go all the way in. I believe Rag 'n' Bone Brown had the same problem with his tacwise. They shouldn't be allowed to sell them as they are not fit for purpose.
Good review. Thanks. I wish I had known that a screwfix did a cheap bandsaw before I bought mine. I bought a second hand dewalt bamdsaw. There is nothing wrong with the dewalt but it cost me twice as much as the titan even second hand and is too big for my limited space
I gave a thumbs up because it was a useful review. If I would have one slight criticism, it would have been better to show the test cuts in real time so we could see how well it handles the wood. At X12, any old bandsaw would look like it's cutting well. But a useful review. Thank you.
I purchased one of these 3 months ago. It was was awful when it arrived. The factory setup is appalling. You need to go through just about everything especially drive belt tension. I found a couple of rubber tabs under the fence clamps made a much more stable fence. Having set the blade up and all the supports left right and back on the upper guide and the same on the lower guide it now cuts straight and true and there’s no drift. Awesome. I’m happy to recommend this saw now.
Ng0254 I also noticed this is the first thing you need to do go thru all of it and set it up rite, if you just turned this on from the factory you’d be in trouble.
I didn't think Titan products were very good. til I bought the table saw I like your video it was very clear the way you put the cross so I will get the bandsaw for that price with the two years warranty you can't cannot go wrong.

Good review i have Axminster cheapest bandsaw, never could get on with it. Will not cut tight curves without relief cuts so cannot make a nice curvy band saw box. Fence i clamp a block behind to keep it straight.
Great video, like michael I am hoping to make nice curvey bandsaw boxes with the thinnest blade I can get. have you tried you hand at a bandsaw box? if not whats the tigghtest radius you can cut?
I noticed on the Screwfix reviews, folk are having trouble sourcing blades for this as Screwfix no longer supply them, Can you recommend a source for these blades? Good review btw.
A lot of users think the tracking should be set so the centre of the blade lies at the highest point of the tyre but this causes blade wander as the teeth try to ‘flip’ from side to side when the blade is pushed back in use into a slight curve between the upper and lower rear support wheels. The tracking should be set so the root of the teeth lies at the highest point. And getting a good tension is important in addition as already pointed out.
Re comments below. Heads up for availability of this bandsaw. Got email from S. Fix. Restocking on 22nd Oct. Looks exactly like the Aldi one (different colour)which got a good review. That was £81 but not available. Sold out!
pete wright: The ALDI bandsaw is good value at its lower price but only has a pressed steel table which is trickier to adjust if you need to tweak or alter its tilt angle, and it doesn’t have a mitre slot. Also its throat is smaller - 8 inches compared with the Titan’s 9inches.
Screwfix have a European arm and I (an ex-pat Englishman living in Sweden) have just ordered one from them and it is being delivered to me postage free.
You do not turn that clamp on the fence to get it to lock up. You adjust it, and then lift it up to lock the fence. The way you're doing it puts it way out of whack and it isn't solid.
Comes with a quarter inches blade which is about 12 millimetres..!!! What?? 12mm is double what your blade is lol. 4.76mm is 3/16 inch 6.35mm is 1/4 inch. 9.52mm is 3/8 inch 12.5mm is half inch 19.05mm is 3/4 inch 25.4mm is 1 inch What are your blade dimensions? You need to get yourself a imperial to metric chart printed off and hang it on your wall for future reference. New Sub ☺
I would avoid Titan products to be honest. I used to have a Titan table saw, it lasted me one project (large climbing tower with connecting Wendy house) , the engine burnt-out on me while cutting 3" post into panels. The build quality is very poor, the fence had a lot of give making wonky cuts and the miter was pretty useless too. Thanks for the review.
+pete wright if there is a Bunnings or Homebase near you they do a Ryobi one which looks identical. Probably made in same factory but with different coloured body.
Thanks for the video. I was looking the missus to get me one for christmas but she never bothered, i'll get torturing her now to get me it for fathers day cheers
Michael my wife actually got me mine for Xmas! Just tell her you'll make her something. I made the closet dividers in the other video and the wife was well chuffed bought me some extra brownie points to burn in the pub. 👍🏼
I'm sure a lot of these bandsaws are identical just with different names and brands stuck on the side. Also, they should be ashamed of producing that fence. It's the same fence (same piece of junk) that comes with a lot of them. There's no reason whatsoever they couldn't produce one that doesn't move. I paid a lot more for my bandsaw but nevertheless it came with that same fence. The far end of it just hooks over the plate. It isn't even at a right angle. Just sort of holds on like a finger. I don't care if it's a cheap bandsaw or an expensive one... it's got to be fit for purpose. I made a fence in the end out of a piece of wood and two metal corner brackets that works perfectly (I do apologise.... rant over).
I have mine coming Tuesday. I don’t need anything above entry level as I might only use it once a week at the most but it can get a bit difficult with the jigsaw. Great job. I just ordered one of these for curved cuts in 18mm ply. Then I found this video. looks like it will be ideal.

The fence there's a fix if you glue a metal ruler to underneath it will be more secure
Enjoyed your review, could you give me any tips on stopping the saw blade from turning when I'm cutting a curve in wood? Thanks
Generally if it’s turning then the blade is too wide for the size radius of turn you are doing. So really you probably need a narrower blade. 👍🏼
You have too much blade showing probably , blade guides should be 1/4 inch only above the workpiece.

thin metal . 1/8th with proper blade it can . more tpi for metal
5:50 You should have left it normal speed for a while so we can get a sense of the machine
You can replace the fence for around £25 from axminster tools.

That's interesting terry probably all made in the same Chinese factory with different branding applied.

Nice review, Would you say this is great for cutting out round dinner plate sizes ?
martkt10 you should be fine just check the size of the table is sufficient for the size of what you want to cut.
Are you able to Cut thin 5mm slices of wood from an 60mm-80mm blank,
Without them breaking using a gate/ guide ,
Im looking for a saw to cut some thin 3mm-5mm slices from blocks without it breaking them
to use on projects
so i can sand polish varnish these 3-5mm thick
60mm-80mm wide, 90mm long , so its like veneer sheets ,
Do you think this saw would handle that ok,
Some would be 3mm thick others 5mm , usual at about width of 60mm x 80mm length,
I’d say you would probably need a wider blade than the standard one to reduce deflection but it should cope fine.
Titan is avilable in France as well
Thanks Pat didn't know that.

I managed to get some will try and dig it out of the drawers as hardly change to be honest.
Just got this. I cant seem to adjust the blade drift. Its not cutting in straight line. Can you help?
Have you tried tensioning the blade?
Great little video buddy
Screwfix have a European arm and I (an ex-pat Englishman living in Sweden) have just ordered one from them and it is being delivered to me postage free.
Cheers for the review buddy. Sold! I'm buying one from screwfix... and oh, today, this year is 2020... shite year. Stay safe bro 🤣😁
another great review.
Thanks Martin.
Good review, mate.
You get what you pay for, huh.
Not a bad little unit at all for a budget buy.
Thanks. It’s not bad at all for the money!
have you tried a new smaller blade for tighter curves, if so which one and where from.
cheers
rhinenio no I've still got original blade in it. Seems to be working ok for now.
cheers mate i cant make tight radius so maybe need setup
What is the best size and blade for cutting tight curves.?
A narrow one I’d say with probably fewer teeth per inch.
You do not turn that clamp on the fence to get it to lock up. You adjust it, and then lift it up to lock the fence. The way you're doing it puts it way out of whack and it isn't solid.
Good review mate, opinions & reviews are a grea thing, I notice you've got a billabong hat mate, brand made DownUnder, cheers mate 👍👍👍
Cheers Sumo.
I have to say that was a good review.
Thanks appreciate the feedback.
Comes with a quarter inches blade which is about 12 millimetres..!!! What??
12mm is double what your blade is lol.
4.76mm is 3/16 inch
6.35mm is 1/4 inch.
9.52mm is 3/8 inch
12.5mm is half inch
19.05mm is 3/4 inch
25.4mm is 1 inch
What are your blade dimensions?
You need to get yourself a imperial to metric chart printed off and hang it on your wall for future reference.
New Sub ☺
good review am off 2 buy 1 this week ,,,cheers
You’re welcome it’s a good saw for the money I recently bought a thicker blade but have yet to try it out.
nice video and good review especially from a DIYer rather than some melt tradesman
Adam C thanks very much a DIYer I work in an office all week!
will it cut plastic, acrylic, perspex cleanly?
Should do although likely to leave saw marks as stock blade isn’t that fine. Shouldn’t give chip out though.
Good review
Thanks glad you found it useful.
good review
Thanks Tom it's my first go at a review so the feedback is useful.
Looks a good machine for the money
Thanks it's pretty good and with the guarantee you can't go wrong!
Very good
Nice review. Pretty much does what you need a bandsaw to do. Nuff said.
Thanks Hooper57 I think some people expect a bit much of a bandsaw particularly the cheap ones but this one does the job!
1/4 inch blade 12mm ??? 1/4 is 6 mm
Calm down Simon I'll get my ruler out next time.
Would You have any recommendation for a replacement blade?
I have bought a new wider blade but haven’t used it yet. Will report back when I do.
Hi
Do they do blade for metal?
thx
I don’t think Screwfix do but you could buy one elsewhere I’m sure.
Thx
I want a bandsaw that cuts metal, will this?
It’s not designed for it but would depend on the blade. It would cut aluminium but would struggle with steel.
did you any re sawing on it?
No I haven’t yet.
Is that the blade that comes with it?
Yes
Just tried ordering this bandsaw after seeing your vid and recommendation for the price but seems to be out of stock!!! Just my luck lol.
+pete wright that's a shame it must be popular. They normally get stock again pretty quick.
Sent an email asking them to try to source one for me.
+pete wright if there is a Bunnings or Homebase near you they do a Ryobi one which looks identical. Probably made in same factory but with different coloured body.
Cheers for the info. Have a Homebase. Not heard of Bunnings. Will look into it. ATB. Pete.
Just done a Google. Homebase only have the Ryobi at £300!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do they deliver to the United States?
I’m not sure check out Screwfix.co.uk
Screw fix should give You a percentage of sales, going by the comments.
48 mill in a inch now then .. when did that change then
LOL 😃

Russell Brand with short hair. (Even the voice). Nice review by the way.
Thanks Glenn I wish I had his bank balance!
just brought one.
darren it's a pretty good saw for the money.
yep i like it, soughted out the guide wobble with a bit of sand paper under it
I'm sure a lot of these bandsaws are identical just with different names and brands stuck on the side. I made a fence in the end out of a piece of wood and two metal corner brackets that works perfectly (I do apologise.... rant over).
