Memories of lost liveries in DMUs, 66578/79/80/81/617/20/21/22 pass in convoy through Newport. Top/tail 47/68 on passenger services and more in March/April 2002
9:41 great tones from the freightliner class 66s! How many freightliner working operate in South Wales daily? I know that the majority of Coal/stone traffic is operated by EWS, but I rarely see freightliner class 66s
There are plenty of Freightliner workings around here. Wentloog sees around 3 trains with one of them going on to Barry. There are also stone trains out of East Usk heading east with 1 going to Port Talbot
I can't believe they still use hook & loop couplings, has to be the most inefficient coupler around, at least to an Aussie :) nice vid thanks for sharing
The old red green and white on pacers at end and start....should be used now...with dragon where the V is incorporated into the stripe...imo TFW`s todays livery to me is Planet Boring and bland livery...at least arrivas light blue was unique and stood out...at crewe for example, when I was there last they stood out well
Oh yes the TFW livery is terrible ! Who ever thought a stencil font was suitable god knows! Too plain and too bland, and they pinched the Transrail Big T!
Nice to see the "old scotrail livery on the 150s
Fantastic footage
Great video Mike. Regards West Midlands Mike.
Awesome video, loved the old Valley lines livery on the pacers, suits the body of the pacer very well. Was 3:22 Gaer tunnel?
You can see the single track on the right, at 3.02, leading to Gear Tunnel and Park Junction and Ebbw Vale. The other 2 are the Newport Tunnels

Love it,I have to ask what's with the engine 57601 and the 1 x carriage?
The carriage is an "inspection saloon" These travel throughout the network with specialist engineers checking the track etc
@@TheMichaelWilcock2016Railways I thought the flying banana did that
Also not much improvement on the stock on valleys lines 14years on
