I never realized what a great voice David has! Sounds a little like what I'd imagine Carl would have if he could have been with the Boys for the anniversary tour. RIP Carl and Dennis, we love you 💕
David sure does sound a lot like Dennis! David is awesome, but I prefer Mike Love singing lead on this, as he does on the LP. Still LOVE this song, no matter who sings lead! :-)
~ WOW ~ David is Awesome singing this song ~ I Love that song ~ " Getcha Back" ~ Glad to have you back, David : ) ~ Should of sang this song in Cincinnati show and Michigan : ) xxx
after being booted from the group and excluded from their rock n roll hall of fame induction, it probably felt pretty nice to get some closure by being on the 50th anniversary tour and being featured in the new documentary
Marks & Carl Wilson sang harmony lead on "Summerime Blues" on the first 1962 LP. And they were a top-notch in-studio and live guitar team over the course of the first 4 albums. Prior to the BB's both were tutored by guitarist and future Walker Brother John Maus.
~ WOW ~ David you sound so good so Awesome : ) ~ I just Love this song : ) I seen the show in Cincinnati and Detroit both were Awesome shows : ) Love you guys : ) xxx
The Beach Boys Brian, Carl, and Denny Wilson Their cousin Mike Love Carl's friend David Marks Brian's friend Al Jardine And Bruce Johnston who joined as a fill in for Brian
I'm just going to throw this out for consideration: This is an audience tape. You are hearing what the touring sound engineer thought it should sound like. With that many vocalists, knowing who to push and who to bury on each song makes a big difference. If Brian was in the audience listening to this.......someone would have been fired ( I'm not talking about David's leads).
who thinks Blondie Chaplin is more of a beach boy? No way LOL!!! David's guitar sound is a crucial part of the Beach Boys development. Blondie Chaplin offered....lead on Sail on Sailor? Wild Honey? LoL...
love any version the Beach boys does. So nice to see my old Band Mate Jeff Foskett, Hope you are doing well Jeff. Prayers for you daily.
I like David's vocals - sort of in the same range as Dennis- in fact- if Dennis was still around I could see him singing it

I've loved the Beach Boys since the 1960's when i was a teenager & still love their concerts & songs today!!!!
i love all the songs
Sounds great! Glad they gotcha back, Dave!
From Surfer Joe to another Surfer Joe 🏄♂️ 🌊 Glad Dave rejoined the Band
@@josephharnett5075 He has some great solo stuff, too!
@@SurferJoe1 ya I've seen that haven't heard any but need to check it out thanks
Good catch!

Absolutely Awesome David
Yes, Ed Carter is still kicking. It would be good to see him back with The Beach Boys.
~ That's John Cowsill on drums : ) John is an Awesome drummer ~ John was a relief man for Dennis when they went on tour!! xx
Was he playing for them back then? Pretty sure John was still with the Cowsills then...
@@VimVinyl - Yes, that’s John Cowsill. I can tell by his style and he’s listed online under personnel for the reunion tour.
No, The Beach Boys never had a "relief" drummer. It was always Dennis, until… it wasn't. Don't care for Cowsill's style. Too flashy.
@@kb6kgx they did have a relief drummer.
John joined the Beach Boys in 2000 playing keyboards, and switched to the drums in 2008. He was not Dennis' relief drummer.
I love David Marks!!!

go David Marks you rock
Damn. makes you realize Marks shouldn’t have ever left the band. Imagine his vocals being seriously used by Brian.

Me too, but it's wonderful anyway to see the Boys singin' it together
David did a great job.
Great 👍
Really cool version! Mike sand the original lead. David's got a soulful sound.
I thought it was really nice of Mike to let David sing lead on his song. Nice spreading the onstage limelight around Mr Love.
I was there! Great show.
Adrian can blow this song off the stagg!
Love it!!!
I for one would love to see bassist/guitarist Ed Carter tour with them. Assuming he's still kicking...
Sorry I’m a decade late but yes he is still alive and performing with Al Jardine
Yes he tours with Al when Al is solo and is now in a group with Billy and Bobby called California Surf Inc. or something. Touring in 2013.
Personally I think Jeff Foskett would sing this best.
The Beach Boys
Brian, Carl, and Denny Wilson
Their cousin Mike Love
Carl's friend David Marks
Brian's friend Al Jardine
And Bruce Johnston who joined as a fill in for Brian
Actually, it was kinda nice of Mike to cede the lead vocal on this one to David. (And David did it well.)
I absolutely agree. Ed Carter/Bobby F. too.....definitely much longer 'stints' and contributions over time.
i liked david´s voice .not bad
I agree witcha!
Why has this song languished in obscurity?
They have to many great songs to be doing this one anyway!

Carl sang Wild Honey.
Burt Ward from Batman and Robin would have been a good beach boy
I was thinking the guys from Happy Days--Potsy, Ralph Malph, Ritchie (as Al Jardine), and even the Fonz (as Dennis) remind me more of the Beach Boys
For those who think this is good singing, just compare it to the original..........yeah, big difference.
They don't sound all that good anymore.
