This is one hell of a song. I remember sitting on a bus and seeing my future wife sitting five seats in front of me. I was with my dad and I told him I was staying on the bus until she got off so I could talk to her. My dad thought I was mad but I did it it. 20 years and three kids later we are still in love. This song was my inspiration that day.
To me Fran always had one of the best (or at least closest to studio recording) live voices I ever heard. He’s unbelievably good in a way you rarely hear with band vocalists.
Wow i always thought about how daunting it would be to be the next band up on the show, after such a performance, from the likes or travis and Radiohead.
superb truly...their best ever song without a doubt ...their career may well have gone far more interstellar after they changed styles to what they had their biggest hits with but.... for me ..this is where they were at their best :)
I remember the early days.... Any footage of Hazy Shades of Gold? Pretty sure that's the song played at Portsmouth Uni when I drunkenly fell and took part of the stage with me 😂😂
They neaver neaver looked cooler or sounded better I hate dissing bands it's not in my nature and music is my thing , but too me I adored that run of singles at the start and there b sides and parent album , this the line is fine( don't think it was a single but du know wat that song rocked I remember kissing my first bird to that song) tied to the 90s , u16 girls, happy , and the LP good feeling it was a great time for me listening to there music then it was sunny and the hash was hash not Tesco carrier bag soap bar shite and everything felt good , then the stools come out and it started raining everyday (yes a bad metaphor) and they had one rocking tune that sounded like it came of that ace first LP wich was the song turn ,even writing to reach you was head noddingly ok , look I know they said that they felt oasis was doing it better so they ditched the louder sound but for me Travis in late 95/96 rocked my teenage world, p.s anyone remember them annoying wallet type cases that singles came in in them days they were super bloody thin just so they cost the company like 1p to make ,did they not fit in next to the other real packaged cds you had making a person such as myself with painfull OCD extremely unsatisfied with the way my precious cd collection looked , ,lol I still have every cd oh and they used to come with a card u just had to fill your name and address and the band would send you info I still have like 5travis cardboard adverts they would send me just before the next single came out, I just remembered and I still have them somewhere, gosh fuck before the internet eh , love to anyone reading this x Dan ode to the 90s

That's a pretty amazing story. Hope things continue to go so well for you.
End up in bracelets for that today 🤣👍
If this was any other day
I'd turn and walk the other way
But today I'll stay, not walk away.
@@quipaddler exactly that.👍
A prolific run of great songs ensued just after this, a very under rated band
Jeff Jones Aye fuckin hell man. Fran is a great songwriter boss. Noel, Elton and Paul saluted the man.
Saw Travis supporting Oasis at Aberdeen AECC 97. This was the opening song and I remember feeling the kick drum in my chest. It was ace.
Amazing 🎉🎉
God bless Scotland!

Great and so long ago! I just love Travis.

All of them look so young and cute! I always want to sing with them when i hear this song
Underated band so true ...
See another live performance. The lead guitarist gives that a guitar a thrashing while jumping on some speakers. Great to listen to and watch.🥰
Awesomeness 😊
