Today I've selected the 20 most violent and bloody PS3 games from my collection to show you guys. Naturally there will be some clips that are, shall we say... unsavory. So if you're not into gory PS3 era graphics, maybe check out one of my other videos instead.

Hey guys, there's no mention of Mortal Kombat as it simply came down to logistics, I just couldn't find my PS3 copy when recording the vid. Found my Vita copy, no problem, but didn't want to use that to capture with. So replaced it with Azura's Wrath at the last minute. Just want to put this here as it's coming up a lot, which is completely understandable.
Asuras wrath was fun but I was absolutely infuriated that the final chapter was dlc

I’m kind of surprised you didn’t put in either of the 2 newest doom games (pretty sure those were more violent and gory then the majority of games on your list)

The Suffering 1 and 2 and Condemned was quite brutal aswell
Condemned was in my ‘honourable mentions’ pile but cut the content out of the vid to keep the run time down
Ps3 had much better games than ps4
They even way better than ps5 games too
Yeaa they even felt more passionate... Everything these days just seem soulless or like a quick cash grab
It's funny, the other day I was playing some split screen ps3 games with my 9 year old. He really loved it and he turned to me and said "Dad, it seems like the older games are much better than the ones that they make now." It caught me off guard that he could recognize that.

Just a word of warning with Drakengard, it does chug at points with some quite severe technical issues, so just bare that in mind when purchasing 👍🏼

Both of those were going to be in an ‘honourable mentions’ segment at the end of the video but I ended up cutting it completely to keep run time down. But you’re right they could’ve easily featured on this list 👍🏼

Man, what was neat about these games is that, even though they were all horror/gory, they were all unique in their own way and they were so much fun! You don't see any good games like the Darkness or Evil Within anymore..what happened with gaming? :(
Battle royale. Live service has taken over. Nowadays, kids rather play Warzone, fortnite and apex instead of games like these. It's so sad

I in fact am against all this gore violent games although I play mortal Kombat here and there and latest game I just learned about was Cylypso Protocal which was a bad assss game… there for I got like 6-7 games to buy from this video alone that I never heard of. Lol if I didn’t see this video and they released the remastered version of “Lolipop Chainsaw”

I've played almost every game featured on this list except for Darkengard 3 I really love the character model in this game but man thanks for this nostalgic experience
The ps3 is not nostalgic kidboy, the ps3 was literally just 2 consoles ago. It brought back "memories" so yea, not nostalgic at all
Watched the whole thing and enjoyed it. A game that I thought of that wasn't on the list is Dead Rising 2.

Great vid! Good variety! Splatterhouse is one of those games I wish I'd picked up when it first came out. Bloody, dumb, gory, fun but I'm can't justify £80+ for a dubious quality used copy. Maybe I'll get lucky in a charity store or something. Aren't Lollipop Chainsaw and Shadows of the Damned getting remastered soon?
Yeah man, it is pricey these days! And probably not worth what it goes for in all honesty. And yes, both Lollipop and Shadows are getting remakes! 🤞🏼I hope they’re good!

The Darkness 2 also.. first one is one of my fav games ever, second one had a lovely cell shading grphics more violent, i loved it too
I love the story in the first one so much! But like you said, the second is more brutal with the violence

I played all the ninja gardens but never knew yaiba existed thank you,my favorite was ninja Gaiden 2 on the Xbox 360 because of the intense violence,but I will try this one.
I would have never guessed that PlayStation peaked on PS3, then slowly was fading on PS4 and now with the PS5 it feels like it's a lackluster console.
I remember the saw game, I actually didn’t mind it really, it was kinda fun

Cheers man, I never got around to Shellshock 2, I played Shellshock Nam on PS2 but the PS3 sequel completely passed me by. Will keep an eye out for it 👍🏼

I have about half of that little lot. The original Dead Island was great, completed it and the expansion Riptide on PS3, also, it’s co-op mode was fun, when it worked. Hats off to the sound in the game, it nailed the whole Jungle island vibe. I’ve not played the recent(ish) sequel yet, but I can’t imagine it being as good for some reason. Hope I’m wrong.
I’ve heard the second is fairly decent, I haven’t played it yet either though. Personally, I t’s got ‘bargain bin pick up’ written all over it!

The new Dead Island is worth checking out for gore mechanics imo. The combat is so fun and brutal, to each their own though!

Love Asura's Wrath! I have it on 360 and like yourself I'm still waiting for that remake.
Dantes Inferno, Yaiba Ninja Gaiden Z (fantastic cell-shaded look and mad action) and Resi 5 were great bloody fun too.
The Evil Within was one of the best,gory,bloody horror games.
X-Men Origins Wolverine was 1000 tomes better than any live-action version of the character. A worthy successor to X2 Wolverines Revenge starring Mark Hamill.
Loved the mental fun of Lollipop Chainsaw.
And who couldn't love Splatterhouse 👍

just stumbled across this channel and video loved every second im a huge gamer myself i have a lot of these games myself shout out to lollipop chainsaw and god of war 3 i own both of them have completed lollipop chainsaw numerous times love that game im currently playing through the god of war series jusr started 1 as i just got the first 3 games first 2 on ps2 and 3 on ps3 top video thankyou for this its also given me ideas for some ps3 games i dont currently own i hit subscribe and look forward to seeing more content

I never got to really play splatter house, definitely looks like a good arcade slasher.
Yeah I loved it, it has its faults and it is a bit pricey these days but it’s a hell of a lot of dumb fun to play
Condemned needs to be on this list
PS3 was/is a great system. I think it is the biggest generational jump in videogames since the jump from 16 bits to the PS2/N64 jump
I always used to think it was the jump from PS1 to PS2, the difference in graphical fidelity between Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy X for example always blew my mind but I think you’re right. The PS3’s jump to HD, bigger and better stories, massive open worlds etc The change is quite staggering
The Drakengard series needs a remaster
Got 19/20 on my collection, only Saw is missing. PS3 is the best console ever!

No mentioning of the kill zones? Especially killzone 3 has definitely gory animations. Like the the melee animations.
How come Mortal Kombat 9 is not on this list? There were some brutal fatalities in that game shocked that it wasn’t on the list
Honorable mention: Fist of the north star ken's rage 1 and 2 by Koei Tecmo. Kenshiro literally makes people explode by hitting pressure points! Gameplay is like Dynasty Warriors, but more martial arts and definitely more gore!
Yeah man, I still need to get a copy of those, never played them. Love the Fist of the North Star game on PS4, the RGG developed one. Need to find and add Ken’s Rage to the collection tho for sure 👌🏼
Splatterhouse 2010 is truly underrated i wish the series was brought up back better than ever but unfortunately it never will😢.

I mean all three designs were pretty out there, the super slim aka George Forman Grill was the biggest offender in my opinion 😂

46 minutes... that must have taken quite a bit of work, but the video turned out great! 👏 There are some real hidden gems in there, a lot of which I played. I didn't get a chance to play The Darkness games on the PS3. I picked up the first one last year and loved the story, but just couldn't get used to the clunky controls. I moved on to the second one but on the Steam Deck and it ended up being one of my coolest gaming experiences of 2022.
Thank you, yeah it was a bit of an undertaking! 😅 The Darkness 1 has a better story I feel but the gameplay in 2 is a lot more fun so I totally get your experiences with both 👍🏼
I missing only a few of this games. I'll think i will get Azura's Wrath, but remember watched the reviews that it was an Ok game, not much more.
The biggest problem with it is that the true ending to the game is pay walled behind DLC, that truly sucks tbh as the game as whole I thought was fantastic, but to experience that you need to buy the game AND all the add ons (if you go the legal route of course, there is emulation but I personally prefer collecting physical media).

Must be remembered that Doom 3 BFG edition is the one where you can have the torch on AND a gun at the same time. Original it's torch or gun and is MUCH more frightening imo

The Uncharted games are great fun and relatively easy. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is a great game.
Sleeping Dogs, 007 Blood Stone. Darksiders 1 & 2
But tbh, it’s probably best to have a look through some of my PS3 videos and see what stands out to you, I tend to show a lot of gameplay so they should give you a rough idea of what to expect 👍🏼

What about Blitz The League II? You can literally see the injuries as you tackle the football players like Mortal Kombat's X-rays. For Example you can see the person back breaking when you cause a broken back in very gruesome details.
Funny you should say that, I’ve only just picked up a copy of that recently, hadn’t ever heard of it before someone mentioned it to me a few months back. Didn’t realise it was gruesome enough to feature in this particular video though, sounds awesome!

Splatterhouse is super hard to find it's not even online anymore but it was never bam but manhunt was. Manhunt compared to most of these games is just a walk in the park and still banned until today....😅

Resident evil 5 will go down as most mentally stressing to play In my opinion. Didn’t ever care about the bloodshed and etc when I was ripping my hair out trynna figure out how to get to other stages 😂😂😂

The Last of Us is tame compared to most of the other games on this list if we are talking blood and gore. I would have probably placed it towards the bottom; definitely below Prototype and Evil Within. Props though on Wolverine and Dead Space; those are some insanely fun and gory games.
I dunno, that death scene of Joel getting his jaw ripped off which indirectly pops one of his eyes out of his socket was pretty brutal. That stuck with me for at least the rest of the day.

My biggest regret is not playing Lollipop Chainsaw
There’s still time man, a good game is and a good game and this one holds up pretty well too. Also it’s being ported to current gen consoles soon, not sure when though 👍🏼
