Did u know it’s illegal for Cubans to fish for their own food ? most Cubans have never had lobster or any seafood because they can’t afford it. all the lobster goes to tourists.

I was thinking and about to comment the exact same thing. I would feel quilty eating the lobster when most of the people that live there cannot eat it or many other foods. Seems like so many other beautiful places you could vacation at other then that communist country.

@@mattmax11 what meant was go somewhere else tropical that does not treat their people like garbage. I can think of a few places. The people of Cuba are not gaining anything from tourism., only the government is.
Was at Lenny’s back in 2006. Only had a grill and picnic table outside the bar .. no tables set up inside. Very rustic at that time but food was good
Interesting, apparently after one of their hurricanes, the only thing there was the floor. They had to swim in the ocean to get all the license plates back.
OMG, that looks so tasty!!! If only they had some black beans to go with this meal and some fried plantain; then it would be perfect!
I've been to Lenny's we rented Trackers one time and toured around the island. We went to a few bars and a farm where they were rolling cigars bought a few one of the other places was a night club in a cave I believe it was called the Nores Den. I love Cuba the people are so friendly.
That was more bone than chicken and the tomatoes and cuccumbers looked hidious sorry the lobster looked amazing ! ,

I just watched Yoel and Mari 28 Feb 2022 in AZ, where Yoel, who is from Cuba, ate lobster for the first time because it is illegal for Cubans to eat lobster in Cuba. It is saved for the tourists.
It was closed for Reno’s when we were in Cuba last march pretty sure at least

My parents got married in November 1962 because of the Cuban crisis. My father was in the Army and thought he was going to have to leave.

How much for each meal? What time of day did you go there? Is there live music?
Can't remember how much, maybe $20 USD. We went at 2pm. There might be live music on the weekends but we never saw any or heard of any bands playing

Not much on presentation .... the only reason for the vintage cars is that is all they can afford... Cuba has stood still while the world moved on... Paul would do very well in Cuba as a chef... he's be top dog.
The bad thing is the cuban government support russia so there tourism will probably be affected

I know Lenny! The restaurant is named after Lenny, a Canadian who helped financially rebuild the resturant after a hurricane so in his honor, they renamed it Lenny's bar and grill! His picture is hung behind the bar, he is in Cuba every few months!

Ken, all of the lobsters fished in Cuba are sold to tourists restaurants BY LAW. Locals are not legally permitted to fish for them and keep them, so 99% of Cubans have no idea what lobster tastes like. So if you befriend a local, take them to eat dinner once and give them an experience of a lifetime. Also, $54 Canadian? That's like 42.5 American. Amazingly cheap. You can't even buy that food at a Supermarket here and cook it for 40 bucks.
I think you would enjoy visiting the Dominican Republic. I stayed at the Bavaro Beach Resort in Punta Cana and ate steak and lobster every day at the all inclusive resort. It was about $1100 per person for the entire week, & included our flight. That was 10 years ago, and there was a lot of development going on, so I'm not sure if that resort is still on Bavaro Beach, but it's an inexpensive Caribbean destination which is the point. Also, pick me up some Cubans while you're there and I'll make it worth your while. (don't pull a Kramer. I mean cigars, not people)
That looked amazing! When In Cuba, bring your swimming/snorkeling gear when ever you leave the resort. Man, that looked like heaven Carol, you look relaxed and just what the doctor ordered girl. :) Ken, thank you for sharing !

somehow I missed this video when I wasn't feeling well. Glad Carol tried the 🦞 🦂 🦞 again..I too tried it a 2nd time & then liked it..the 1st time I had it couldn't have been cooked properly. I feel everyone should try it multiple times. I was loving the car that picked you guys up. how awesome!
