    I know my sound quality isn't very good on this one. I don't know why or what happened, and actually did get it improved some. I wasn't going to publish this one- either reshoot or drop it entirely- but my wife and daughter encouraged me to go ahead with it. So I hope you enjoy it, even with the low quality sound.

    Our first trip was in 1978, there was one park, no fast pass, and no one waited hours in line. We returned at least once and usually twice a year thru 1987 then life got in the way. In 1997 we finally relocated to Jacksonville Florida. Since it was a couple hours away, we started a 20 year run of annual passes. With four parks to choose from, the crowds didn’t seem horrible. It stayed that way thru the early 2000’s. I’ve looked at old receipts from after 9/11 and we booked moderate rooms for less than a one day ticket now. It seems like starting 2010 - 2016 the crowds increased exponentially to the point we only went to the Magic Kingdom for the Not so Scary and the Christmas party. We did not and would not stand in lines like we see in all the current videos. I definitely don’t know the answer but I feel sorry for those that never got to experience the Disney we did.

      They go to live relives in the style job but you can't do nostalgia it is locked behind time you will have new experiences whether you intend to or not and it is guaranteed that you will have worse experiences in this day and age it's one of those things.

    I haven’t even finished listening to the first complaint and my blood pressure is already through the roof. I’ve never worked for Disney but I’ve worked with the public for nearly 20 years so my tolerance for stupidity and entitlement is pretty much nonexistent at this point. 😂

    Hi SirWillow, I have been a fan for a while and love your content. I hope you can do more videos like this one soon. I also want to share a story from my home park Canada’s Wonderland, just North of Toronto. I was visiting one day and we had a gentleman get back from Disney and was upset Mickey and Minnie were not there. So he went to guest services and asked where he can find them and also the castle, (when you walk in there is a mountain as a symbol of paramount when they owned it before cedar fair). When the employees said we are not related to Disney he flipped out and demanded that he speak to the ceo of Disney to say “if you guys own all the parks in the world why is there no Mickey Mouse and the castle and all the other rides”Obviously they cast members were stunned at this guy and then he stormed off in anger got his refund and went home. I can’t believe he thought Disney owned every theme park in the world 😂.

    • @SirWillow
      @SirWillow  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on how you book it. Most people don't book their Disney trips through one agency, but in pieces, in which case it's difficult to impossible to get insurance for all of it.

Which way did you come in?😀. I can’t help it wonder , in that last case, why he didn’t place himself between his wife and Mickey?

    For the first complaint, I've heard of prepaid legal, and unless you are a business or involved in illegal activity it's a suckers investment, but 99.999% of people who threaten legal action can't afford a lawyer and have no clue how the law works. For the second complaint, they need to take things up with the airline. The fourth one isn't a loyal customer, or they would know how things work, so it must have been their first time. As for the last one, the key this person said his wife and her son, not our son, so this "religion" excuse is false, no religion that strict would allow someone to marry anybody who isn't pure

    Can you please make a video explaining how to prepare to go to a theme park with an individual with autism and explain how cast members should do in this situation? Ever since I watched in of your SDC vlogs with your niece I want to know how you go about your trip.

    • @SirWillow
      @SirWillow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, I'm not the one who's done the preparing to go with her. That's been her mom and her older sister. Wish only a couple of visits to parks with her- and with mom and sister there to help and guide- I can't say much there from experience. Not sure if they'd be willing to do an interview with me or not.
      The other problem though is abilities/ disabilities/ functioning in theme park environments will vary widely from person to person across the autism spectrum. What works for one or some won't work for others. Some can't handle noises, others love them. Some have to have a fixed routine, but others thrive on the changes to their routines that happen at theme parks.
      So really it comes down to a person by person basis, knowing the person and what they like and what they don't, and then planning around that.

    Working for a office supply center, print area I see way way to many of this entitle people. This has gotten even worse since 3/17/20, when c19 screwed us all. One I got to meet who was like the first complain on the BBB, is a congress person, I won't say who they area as they don't deserve any publicly, we had supply chain issues that today are only getting fix, but when they came in they though they could have it there way. Seen many of these, saddly that person and a teacher were the absolute worst.

    If a ride breaks down while you've already been waiting in line for an hour, don't they issue a Genie + lane pass for any other ride in the park? Or to the closed attraction if it reopened that day? Or is that only if you're already on the ride?

    Sounds to me like people who thought they could get one past Disney. I have been going to WDW since the mid 90s, and our honeymoon in 1987. Maybe I am crazy, but I do not recall seeing Mickey Mouse in EPCOT. Maybe, MAYBE riding around in the Junkanoo and I do not think he was there either. First time we rode RotR. There was a 3 hour wait. Ugh. We got in line. After I was blown away by the Stormtrooper hangar sequence, we walked in that tight corridor where they split you up in two lines and promptly stopped. It broke down. I think we waited another 90 minutes before we rode. This was late in the day BTW. It never occurred to me to whine to the BBB, or a cast member or anyone else, well I whined at my wife who with a mere look conveyed to me "What am I going to do about it?" we've been married for 37 years so I got it. I loved that ride anyway. And rode it again later

    • @jdslyman1720
      @jdslyman1720 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mickey and friends originally weren't allowed in EPCOT, and I can't remember when they were shoehorned in. EPCOT had (and still has) it's own mascot, in the form of the iconic purple dragon Figment. I just know that once Michael Eisner saw that the classic Disney characters weren't in EPCOT, he insisted that they be put in, notably with Mickey in a spacesuit😝

    • @SirWillow
      @SirWillow  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @jdslyman has it mostly right. Mickey didn't show up at EPCOT due to Eisner not seeing him there. The Disney characters being absent was actually partially due to Eisner's decisions. They started showing up after large numbers of guest complaints that they weren't in the parks.

    • @jdslyman1720
      @jdslyman1720 ปีที่แล้ว

      @SirWillow I didn't know that Mickey and Co. came back because of guest complaints. To be honest, I would be OK with just Figment and Dreamfinder in EPCOT😁 Probably because I love him so much🥰 I can see why people were expecting the others, though. It is probably the same group of people wondering where the castle is when they don't see it and they see Spaceship Earth instead, and also others probably just expect them to be there, as EPCOT was and still is a Disney Park.

  • @teresacarosella7624

    I think you responses are reasonable and how I would respond. The person who thought they were charged twice probably was confused by 2 receipts. If they were double charged, which can happen, they probably did hear the total because they were distracted. It happens in retail. Someone buys something that totals $20 and the cashier says that will be $40 and the customer swipes their credit card through without hearing or paying attention. Yes, it was probably the cashiers fault or the computers, but and it can usually be fixed quickly at the time. But if you walk away and don't realize it until several days later, then it is also on the customer. I would guess in that situation the customer was not charged twice just received 2 receipts for their purchase, got confused, and didn't even both to check with their credit card company or bank before they had to complain.

    I’m thinking the APH probably just bought their pass and this was their first time using it. They are still being unreasonable, but that might explain their surprise at crowd levels and wait time.
    The religious fellow is just being a Karen. Mickey Mouse wears huge puffy gloves and several layers of clothing. There was no skin to skin contact, ergo; Mickey didn’t touch his wife. (Also, I doubt religious law applies to six foot tall anthropomorphic mice.)

    Sad that Disney has gone from the Mickey Mouse company to a Scrooge McDuck company...
    I remember going there for my 18th birthday, which ended up being a trip from Hell, and my mom and I got to see that they truly did go above and beyond with customer service back then when contacted about a legitimately bad experience(we went back that year during Christmas time and had a much better trip)
