    The 787 was a big game changer. Of course Airbus said that they felt no threat from Boeing’s new clean sheet airplane. That’s what they’re supposed to say. The Airbus response was to add more bells & whistles and they called it the a350 series. Both airplanes are great improvements over previous airplanes. I love both the Dreamliner and the a350! They both can exist in the same fleet and still serve their purposes. Go figure! Thanks Dj!

      It's interesting when you compare the two companies, historically Boeing tends to hit the nail on the head when they roll out new aircraft. Airbus tends to find a lot more success with lifetime improvements. Boeing on the other hand is a lot more cautious when designing new planes. They tend to be good at making planes that fit market needs well into the future, partly because their designs are much more adaptable to serve additional markets.

    The A330neo is underrated in my opinion but the 787 has an advantage. Larger cabin windows. A350 not too shabby either. I like all of them.

    Not that long ago DJ lamented that Boeing had ceased to be the innovator it had been in the distant past. The 787 remains the most innovative airliner of 21st century. No one has come close to making such a big leap. Boeing paid a big price for the innovation although it was mercifully without tragedy. The hit was to the bottom line. The 787 forced Airbus to follow with the advantage of avoiding the pitfalls that cost Boeing dearly. Its composite panels instead of woven barrels has to make new models easier to develop, particularly the freighter, with negligible penalty. Airbus also avoided competing head on with the 787, pitching the A350 to fit between the 787 and what must been anticipated, the 777X. It was always going to be a strong market. Over 1300 sold which is a great result. Almost 2000 787 sold too. Would these figures have been matched had Airbus gone head to head with 787?

    Boeing needs to address their problems with the 737 Max and 787 Dreamliner first and foremost. This way Boeing won't lose ground. Once the 737/787 are fixed, than business as usual.

    The new Boeing product airplane in the 777-9X will make a significant response to air travel, however, Airbus has a good airplane themselves in the A350 that has sold well enough. The Boeing 787 made big strides also and is another great airplane itself.

    I am seriously getting tired of video titles these days - especially Aviation videos - will the new RR engine destroy the aviation industry? Airbus new 321 LXR - is Boeing doomed? - my lord - is it the YT algorithm? can you not be a bit more professional? most of those videos are just a re-heat of some stuff people interested in aviation knew all along. You could have also named it: Airbus and Boeing 787 - our take on it! Getting more pathetic by the video...imho

      The difference only being the MAX is dangerous! I will not fly on it! The 787 is good as it forced Airbus to develop both the A350 and A330neo. It will be great to see the 777X entering commercial service. It’s a great plane and Airbus does not have a design that large to compete with it. But Boeing really needs to get its sh*t together.

  • @ricky1231

    Neither Airbus or Boeing can launch two clean design planes concurrently.
    Its just too expensive.
    When Boeing lauched the dreamliner , Airbus had its plate full with the A380 program.
    Boeing was lucky, they had tried to market and produce several derivatives of the 747 without success and knew that the very large aircraft market was drying up. Airbus had no such intel & wanted to produce a signature product to challange the queen of the skies.
    So its not that Airbus felt no threat from the dreamliner , its just that launching A380 & starting A350 at the same time overlap was quite daunting for them. They tried to get away with an A330 upgrade!!!!!

    • @jakeoht791
      @jakeoht791 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Historically Boeing has been able to make products that are more adaptable and better positioned for markets at the time of order and future markets. It's interesting to think about how the 777 was wrapping up design at the same time the 787 was starting to get designed, despite that there's a 10-year gap between deliveries. With the early 2000s focusing more energy on defense and the retirement of many key engineers, both companies are struggling with getting a new strong engineering force.
