It is somehow easy to use this kind of grids but to shade like this with a ballpoint pen is whole other case. Normally i dont try to shade detail with a ball point pen because i thought there is no way it is possible for me to shade light strokes with it. This channel made me inspired to do it. Rightnow i still practicing to achieve this level of shade. Thank you ❤
Your untraditional grid method is pretty cool. As a more imaginative artist, I do not use grids really at all even in perspective drawings; it is mostly in my imagination for perspective grids. It helps me manage my time better for an artwork. Your Vagabond drawing is amazing too, I am happy your reference technique works well. I can reference draw well using an imaginary grid in my head (to learn how to do that was an endeavor for sure). But, your technique adds an uniqueness or artsiness that could express even more emotion in the drawing, before you even start it. It is a pretty cool method. It reminds me of charcoal artists putting random charcoal marks down on paper and then creating a human face from those random marks. Your technique has some strong potential.
Copy drawing is good but there's no room for your own imagination, instead learning about shapes forms perspective anatomy etc is what i recommend learning for beginner artists for creating your own style!
There’s no such things as your own style. A style that you think you invented or created might have been existing for many years. People need to stop invalidating others talent.

Its an very interesting method and from the looks of it a tons of people can get a lot of help from this, the only down side is you need a reference for this to work, you cant draw from imagination. Anyways thanks for sharing this method 👍👍👍.

In all seriousness, If you want to use grid method more effectively. You need to learn Spesific things about art before actually drawing with grid method. For example, Cross hatching, Line work, Etc.

I mean, that's cool and all but aren't you just copying like this? Why not use construction lines? This way you'd eventually be able to draw it just by looking and skip the whole scribble part. Great art btw.
i think it actually does help in learning, so does tracing from what ive seen, but i would still guess he knows how to construct the shapes, considering his shading and how clean his lines are
It really isn't but this is just a method that op and other "aspiring anime artists" use to cope and be in denial of the fact they're not real artists since they refuse to learn the fundamentals of art and decided to just copy.
@smrzgk I already explained. This is a cheap copying technique. You are only copying drawings. You literally cannot execute anything outside that unless you've already learned to a degree in which op and the kids watching these videos have not. And there's no techniques that are considered cheating in art, only very poor and lazy and sometimes shameful techniques
