    Can’t believe Ranai was a play tester and let them release villager like that, where’s the love

      😂😂😂 IKR
      In Ult I don’t think he’s bad but he’s just so overwhelmingly mid

      @MrHxChris ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@Jazara- Definitely agree I don’t think he’s as bad as most make him out to be, but playing Villager sorta feels like playing a Smash 4 character in Ultimate’s physics.

      @@MrHxChris that was perfect way to put it, he just feels slow and left in sm4sh’s dust

      @@wumiam2 a mix of that and losing his kill power somewhat, and recovery is slower for some reason. Jab 2 combo starter was nice too.

    Can’t believe these new ultimate players don’t know the legend of ranai 😭 banger as always

    I miss Ranai so much. I wish he played ult, but with how villager is in ultimate I'm glad he didn't.

      I feel that, who knows though maybe we would all be thinking villager goes hard if he played

    • @luigimitsu
      @luigimitsu ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nah don't say that, he'd either simply outplay everyone with a mid tier or he'd pick someone better haha. Kept is doing pretty well using Villager + Diddy.

    Ive probably watched this video like at least once every 2 weeks since this video came out. Ranai is my favorite player in any competitive game and he gives me a lot of inspiration, in life and the game, mostly because of his mindset. I wish I could interview him

    I think there’s a misconception about Zero being almost stumped in the match against Ranai, and Zero in general. He was the best player for a reason and it wasn’t just some idle talent.
    Zero STUDIED the game to death, watched others play like in actual video recordings or on like a disc or tape, he labbed a lot, while overcoming so many external-personal issues besides getting better at the game. He was the true grinder, Zero has stated that he would watch recordings and pick up on their bad habits.
    He played Diddy, Shiek, Bayo, and Meta Knight. The most broken characters in their respective time, which makes people bat an eye, but he put in so much work. It actually makes me happy to hear Zero trumping everyone for so long including Japan because of who he is/was as a player and his background.

    It's worth noting now that Earth is making his return soon. Maybe we'll get to see Ranai return too... but that's major hopium.

    Has Ranai ever expressed any interest in competing again? It'd be insane to see his Ult villager if he has one lol

    • @Jazara
      @Jazara  ปีที่แล้ว

      AFAIK he doesn’t talk much about smash anymore, I checked out his Twitter while researching and nothing seemed to be about smash (though it’s all in Japanese).
      I hope we get to see him play Ult sometime though even if it’s just on someone’s live stream playing sets or something we would see that a lot in Smash 4 with top brawl players who weren’t active anymore

    • @Sunshine-eo2sp

      He had been playing the game for a while, if he had competed, he would've had a head start on everyone else before the game released.
      Earth has competed, and I think it'd be fine if he came back, but Ranai was playing Granblue last I checked.

    • @Jazara
      @Jazara  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Basically Nintendo brought a group of like 5+ Pro Japanese smashers to join the development team. AFAIK they had an agreement where as long as the game was actively being updated they couldn’t compete in events. I’m guessing they think they’ll have some sort of advantage or possibly because they didn’t want to patch the game based on tournament’s, rather what Nintendo thought needed to be changed so having people who compete actively would caused Comp biased changes
