Incredible video … love your effort in sharing this journey with owners of older mini’s! LOVE your simple magnet on the screwdriver hack … I also love the options you selected from your order. While I’m not sure I can weather the storm to complete this wonderful upgrade, I’m so pleased knowing that the one thing I’ve hated on the mini cooper (radio), you’ve managed to video record how to upgrade … GREAT JOB!
I been working on these cars for ages, and I have to congratulate you on your install. Very professionally done! It's always a headache when one these comes in with electrical gremlins, because some animal butchered an install. Only thing I would do differently, is on the rear camera, use a rubber grommet vs silicone. Just friendlier for future R&R of that rear panel. Also 47:17 if you notice there is a setting for shutdown time on ignition off. Looks like yours is set to 30 seconds. The factory radios run for 10 minutes with ignition off or until the vehicle is locked and prepped for sleep mode.
The little compartment where you put the microphone (at 17:00), it's actually supposed to go there. The matching one on the right side has the microphone for the bluetooth phone. They put it in on the left because, well British. If you have problem with the microphone catching everything, it can be moved to the left compartment for right hand drive cars so it's pointed at the driver.
you can flip the plate bracket camera and put it on the bottom of the plate. Appreciate the video, I actually just purchased it for my ride. Thank you.
Just so you know, those side pillars are just one screw holding them on, just gotta pop out that "airbag" panel and then you're on your way to taking the top of that dash off to replace the C.A.S. module that goes out in these things.
Thinking about ordering this set up for our 2015 mini roadster. Now that you have had it for a while...Would you still recommend it? Anything you do not like about it?
Hey there! Outstanding video! You put lots of time and effort and in doing so you checked off every detail possible. Even a few obscure thoughts that hadn't crossed my mind. It's been about a year since install? Would you mind a quick update/review/thoughts after 1 year of use? Did you swap out the stock speakers at any point? Unless you've got the HK option. I just bought my 4th MINI since taking a 10 year hiatus. A '10 Clubman JCW. And after watching your video, I'm getting the aftermarket itch that must be scratched, lol. Cheers!
It is going well, have had no issues since the install. The backup camera I used works flawlessly. I do have the upgraded speakers in my MINI, but I ca't say I won't look at upgrading down the line. It will all depend on how long I keep the car since it is just my work bomber. Then again, I love my MINI!

Thank you for taking the time and effort in making this detailed video. Good job! One question, are you getting the chime sounds through the unit - turn signals, etc? Thanks.
