A thing I noticed in the last moment, when Eda runs out on her magic, a flare kinda explodes out of her. But her last act of magic is still to protect Luz even when she burnt out
Okay real talk, I can’t imagine how Eda must’ve been feeling in that moment. Discovering your older sister, someone who you grew up with and relied on as a child, cursed you out of jealousy and so you would be weaker and easier to conform into a messed up system. Maybe you had childish spats but every sibling does, but this? I just... I can’t. I love my own older sister to bits and if I was Eda I would be absolutely heartbroken and wouldn’t be able to fight at all.
Personally me and my brother have fights atleast 50 times a year lmao and even then I wouldn’t do something that scummy and make his life a daily struggle If he didn’t do that to me first
Like jeez Lilith if you are gonna attempt to do a temporary cause which seems like it was her intent (that doesn’t excuse her demented and scummy actions) Atleast study it and test it only multiple things for months so you know how to reverse it
In my perspective, I don't think Lillith cursed her out of jealousy. We've seen that she does care for Eda. When Emperor Belos said she knows what happens to covenless witches, she got scared. She probably cursed Eda to force her to join the Emperor's coven. That way, she can keep her sister safe.
something i loved and noticed was the fact that, unlike in most shows, she doesn't go: "yes, i got the invitation. Give me back Luz." or some shit like that. No, she knows that Lilith isn't gonna give her her apprentice back so she just cuts the bullshit and starts fighting. Man I love this show.
I just love how Luz is Eda's main priority. The first words out of her mouth when she shows up are "Where is she?", she prioritizes saving Luz over attacking Lilith, and she used the last of her magic to get the kid away instead of saving herself. That girl is Eda's kid, no matter what she may say. Eda is best mom
After seeing this episode I think Owl House really needs to teach the lesson/end on the lesson that even if someone is related to you by blood that doesn't mean they're family; plenty of shows, movies, etc teach the lesson that you can be family even if you're not related by blood but not enough of the equally true parallel.

Before this episode, Lilith was kind of different character, yes she's jealous of her sister and wants surpass her, hunting her down so she can join the coven, so belos heal her, but on her expressions it feels that she doesn't like that's she's doing, she's actually wanted to heal sister. I agree. Luz was just enraged with Lilith as Eda was. Its hard to tell which of Lilith's actions angered Eda and Luz more, Lilith kidnapping Luz or cursing Eda to begin with?
I love how while Lilith's magic is kinda bubbly and fluid, like a controlled flame or spurts of water, while Eda's is pure, unadulterated energy- all lightning and exploding out in edges, and even when she's weakening it's still sharp and uneven.
I also love how Eda showed off a lot of different magics, such as Construction when she moves the slats to save Luz, and the owls that constrict Lilith are likely Oracle magic, based on Odalia's power.
Imagine what it would’ve been like if Eda used her full potential during the witches duel from convention- Lilith would’ve been a pile of dust by the end- But since Eda isn’t a terrible sister she didn’t. Thanks Eda for being the perfect owl mom.
So rare where you see a magic battle that actually looks and feels like a magic battle instead of two people shooting colored lightning out of sticks at each other like guns.
'Then why were you SO EASY TO CURSE?!!' Not even Illidan Stormrage (World of Warcraft) would do this to his own brother. Who more or less got the girl (aka Ilidans crush) first Scar (Lion King) however, would 110% not hesitate to do something like this
This was probably my favorite Eda scene to. Until then she normally used a bunch of one liners and cheap jokes in her fights. Here though, her sister took someone she cared about deeply and knew this isn’t the time to mess around.
if youre wondering why this is almost the same as the other video its because this one got a copyright claim :/ but YT finally made this public so i'm gonna keep it here anyway.
This was the best fight scene in the owl house. And arguably one of the best fights in animation history. Absolutely loved everything about this scene...
If this is how powerful Eda is, even at her weakest with her curse on the verge of taking over, I honestly don’t wanna imagine what she’s like at her most powerful o-o
Just noticed how unstable Eda's circle is at 2:54. It's a nice visual cue to show that she's starting to hit her limit and using the last of her magic.
No, its just because she uses “wild” magic Pay attention to the blue beams from Lilly’s, they’re very smooth, because she uses controlled and “calm/tame” magic.
With the final episode of the season coming, I have only one prediction: Eda is freed, but she's left completely magicless. And Luz has to teach her the Sigil magic she's been learning.
I get we all hate Lilith, but can we just appreciate the genius of this fight, or more specifically, the genius of Lilith's perspective. Let's think about this. Lilith knew for a fact, even while weaker, eda was stronger than her, and with hooty she stood no chance of getting close to her. So she devised a plan. She just assumed that Liz was a bit of a pet project, and not essentially a ward/child to sea due to the fact, why would eda, the most powerful witch bar the emperor, take on a creature without magic? We've already seen she is willing to do anything to beat eda through the curse, even if it's clear she regrets doing it. This means her tactic is just that. A tactic. She has a goal and wants to complete it and is using all she has to hand. Knowledge is power and eda was too cocky as to assume that her power was greater. She left herself open by letting people know of her attachment to luz. Beyond that, from Lilith's perspective, eda has always had it all, all the power, all the fun. She had to be uptight, she had to join a coven. And eda never wanted to share it with her, or tell her she was doing okay. Eda was a bad sister. Her cursing her is Lilith lashing out, and then devoting literally the rest of her life to fixing it. Since eda refused her help, Lilith had no choice but to take drastic measures to try and fix her mistake. Also, a small bit of symbolism, edas magic takes a bit of a shapeless form other than sometimes owls, suggestions her free and far more neutral nature. She is also far more of an offensive fighter, showing her more standoffish personality and nature as a quick thinker. Meanwhile Lilith's magic is far more shaped, a lot more controlled, and a lot less energy wasted. This shows a sense of order, and of control. However, I would like to point out the end scene where Lilith is pushing down on Luz. It's a hand, a gnarled hand. This hand I feel is supposed to represent two things. Lilith's finer control over her magic in the ultimate symbol of control, that being the hand. but also to represent how she meddles. She meddles in luz's and eda's peaceful life, and meddles with eda's life completely through the curse.
I respect your opinion. But maybe we should also consider the possibility that Eda's curse is holding her true abilities back. Who knows how powerful she could be without the curse? Another thing I noticed is that despite the fact that she's already using up her magic, she's still on the same level as Lilith when they fought. She could've caused critical damages on her sister if she hadn't come up with underhanded tactics or used Luz to create a distraction for Eda.
It's just the heat of the moment. After watching this episode, many will do emotional hate comments and rants about Lilith. Not many are going to think nor reason about Lilith's reasons, that there were moments in the series where she has shown care and concern about her sister or that she got the Emperor's promise that Eda's curse will be relieved if she brought her sister to his Coven. What I think is in two options: that Lilith may be scared of the Emperor's power, and she thinks it is better to be with than against him. Or she totally trusts and believes in him that she is very gullible to see through his lies. (well, if we consider Eda is right and the Emperor is a tyrant who has deceived almost everyone in Boiling Isles)
My thing is that she said she has the power to remove it. She probably didn’t remove it sooner because she was still jealous and saw the curse as a way to handicap eda so lilith could get ahead for once. Lilith cares for her sister, we’ve seen that many times in the show but when she has a task at hand she will finish that task with any means necessary. When she saw that her time was up she got serious, she kept that smug “i got you now” attitude with eda throughout all this because she was in front of the emperor and the emperors coven. She had to show that she wasn’t protecting eda, she had to put on a front. I still think Lilith is a ruthless little bitch for making me cry but I acknowledge that she does love her sister.
Just like how Eda was willing to succumb to her own curse if it meant saving Luz? I more than appreciate how both Eda and Luz are more than willing to put their lives on the line for each other.
The ending moment where the curse was taking over and Eda's last lines nearly make me cry every time. She is willing to use the last of her power to protect Luz. If you have watched season 2, it just hits the heart even harder.
Ok I haven’t seen Owl House since I don’t have cable or likely anything else that this is on, but I really want to take a moment and appreciate just how fluid the fight’s animation is. I didn’t expect it to be so smooth, although I haven’t watched Disney in ages so this could just be me being out of the loop. Point is; wow that’s cool
It is coming out on Disney Plus. You vacuole also watch it on some illegal website (if you’re willing). Just search “owl house season 1 online free” and there are options you could choose from. A website you could also check is KissCartoon, it has a bunch of cable shows you can watch for free, but there are plenty of ads.
"You always looked down on me because i'm wild, but fortunately that just made me work harder than you!" AND THEN THE SMOOTH ASS ANIMATION KICKS IN I LOVE THIS FIGHT SO MUCH
I think the emperor is going to heal her (he *is* apparently "more powerful" than Eda after all. Plus, I don't think an owl beast is going to be of much use so they are going to have to do something about her curse)
Maybe she uses her strongest spells that tend to take a lot of energy from her, since her plan was to take Luz back even if it cost her everything Also the curse as she said was getting worse every day to the point that a bunch of bottles weren't enough to cure her completely
This whole scene, the animation, the pacing, the acting, the music, the colors, the light and shadows, everything was smooth and perfect visually. Nothing felt odd or out of place. Even Hooty's suman dark form was wonderfully creepy. And knowing Lilith cursed her sister simply because she was jealous of her; it's amazing and heart breaking. If Lilith had not cursed her, Eda would have just gave up joining and let her sister have it while Eda would grown up made potions and married Raine and had a baby but instead she had to suffer a lone mostly because of what her own sister did. I always wonder how she actually came to forming a relationship with her again after everything, it felt kind of fast how they seemed start talking to each other again but maybe it was many years and somewhere deep they did miss each other despite all that happened.
This fight was Awesooome. Lilith trying to play it charming villain but Eda going in full force, done with games. The pure power and creativeness Eda had, that even Lilith (the next best witch so far) had to use Luz as a shield the whole time just to tie. The like 10 circle attack spell? Edas Scathing ™️ words, absolute Badass.
"But then how pathetic are you, that you can't best me at my worst?" "I am better than you" "Then why were you so easy to curse?" I'm OBSESSED with those 3 lines, they're just so powerful and so charged with so many strong emotions, they're just so UGHHHHH I love it sm
Considering the fact that Eda is weakened here, she indeed would be really powerful without curse. She deserved "The most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles" title.
I like the fights in TOH because they aren't as basic as we're used to in American animations, but they're not as overly confusing as most anime, it's really The best of both worlds
Eda has mastered the practice of every type of magic that exists and even uses an owl-themed magic that seems to be unique to her, I interpret this as if she created this magic. Definitely the most powerful witch in the boiling isles
Considering Darius bent abomination goo in accordance to medieval weapons idk about that. Although it does seem like only powerful witches are capable of that
This reminds me so much of Stanley and Stanford Pines from Gravity Falls. They are kinda similar to Eda and Lilith. Stanford pursued a dream of accomplishment just like Lilith. Stanford and Lilith both once trusted diabolical villains who later betrayed them. And Stanley's life was turned upside down after he was kicked out of his family living a hard life, just like how Eda's life became harsh after she was cursed. If Gravity Falls and The Owl House ever had a crossover, imagine the chemistry between both the Clawthorns and Stan pines twins.
This fight slaps so unnecessarily hard. This cute, weird, creative kids show randomly decided to be dragon ball z for about 120 seconds and I'm so glad it did. The whole crew, animators, sound designers, artist, actors, really really sold it
I cannot wait till Amity finds out Lilith tried to kill Luz. I hope she unlocks some epic love for Luz power. Then again. I'm hoping Luz unlocked some epic emotional power when she rescues Eda.
When eda said she one of the most powerful witches in the boiling isle I thought I she was lying but seeing this JEEZE SHES NOT LYING I DONT WANT TO MESS WITH HER 0-0

Well yeah, Eda was pretty clearly just trying to have fun in covention while Lilith didn't want to destroy the place
the way she says "i am better than you" has so much impact
This is my theory, the emperor knew that Eda was stronger than him so he approached Lilith who was jealous of her sister's stronger magic and offered Lilith a chance to weaken her sister. Lilith took it and cursed Eda but she didnt realize what she had done. By the time she realized, it was too late, so she was forced to work for the emperor to heal Eda.
She specifically says that "she" has the power to heal Eda if she agrees to join the Emperor's Coven, so I'm pretty sure she could have healed Eda.

Exactly, I mean, Lilith literally used her as a human shield and was actively trying to kill her
I love how while Lilith's magic is kinda bubbly and fluid, like a controlled flame or spurts of water, while Eda's is pure, unadulterated energy- all lightning and exploding out in edges, and even when she's weakening it's still sharp and uneven.
I also love how Eda showed off a lot of different magics, such as Construction when she moves the slats to save Luz, and the owls that constrict Lilith are likely Oracle magic, based on Odalia's power.
Imagine what it would’ve been like if Eda used her full potential during the witches duel from convention-
Lilith would’ve been a pile of dust by the end-
But since Eda isn’t a terrible sister she didn’t. Thanks Eda for being the perfect owl mom.
0:10 I love her face when she realises Eda is not messing around

The fact that I read this in Hooty's voice lol
okay this got me it was actually really funny, especially hearing it in hooty’s voice
Lilith Vs Hooty: Hooty destroys Lilith
Lilith Vs Three Demon Hootys: (Censored)
*[hoot hoot, yes :)]*
So rare where you see a magic battle that actually looks and feels like a magic battle instead of two people shooting colored lightning out of sticks at each other like guns.
'Then why were you SO EASY TO CURSE?!!'
Not even Illidan Stormrage (World of Warcraft) would do this to his own brother. Who more or less got the girl (aka Ilidans crush) first
Scar (Lion King) however, would 110% not hesitate to do something like this
That's disney for you.
EDA WAS EASY TO CURSE BECAUSE ONE, SHE WAS ASLEEP, AND TWO, SHE TRUSTED HER SISTER.
@@ehaparsi5626 Three she was a kid
This is probably my favorite scene out of the entire show, the animation is great and I enjoy how eda just gets to the point.
This was probably my favorite Eda scene to. Until then she normally used a bunch of one liners and cheap jokes in her fights. Here though, her sister took someone she cared about deeply and knew this isn’t the time to mess around.
the lighting, the animation, the style, the AMBIANCE!!! could this show get any more breathtaking!!!
I hate how calmly Eda says that to Luz
it breaks my heart
I know. Every time I watch this scene I find myself hard not to cry.
Lilith: THEN WHY WERE YOU SO EASY TO CURSE
Me: SHE WAS *ASLEEP*
Eda’s speech before transforming is will never fail to make me tear up a little
if youre wondering why this is almost the same as the other video its because this one got a copyright claim :/ but YT finally made this public so i'm gonna keep it here anyway.

Good because im sick of no comments because "kids content"
This was the best fight scene in the owl house. And arguably one of the best fights in animation history. Absolutely loved everything about this scene...
It's honestly hilarious watching the most recent episode and then coming back to this fight and remembering that this is indeed the same character
She should not have been redeemed and turned into some annoying dork.
No, its just because she uses “wild” magic
Pay attention to the blue beams from Lilly’s, they’re very smooth, because she uses controlled and “calm/tame” magic.
With the final episode of the season coming, I have only one prediction: Eda is freed, but she's left completely magicless.
And Luz has to teach her the Sigil magic she's been learning.
How does it feel being a future seer?
You were absolutely correct
Ah yes, the Oracle Coven
That actually happened. No deus ex machina to give Edalyn her magic back.
0:56 the sound it made gives me goosebumps
Dang you guys wrote a two age Dictionary
"Eda is a bad sister"
Wow, what an absolutely horrible take.
Can we just appreciate that Luz was really willing to lose her own life if it meant Eda didn't lose her magic? That girl is a real one.
Just like how Eda was willing to succumb to her own curse if it meant saving Luz? I more than appreciate how both Eda and Luz are more than willing to put their lives on the line for each other.
Talk about sacrifice.
It really is smooth, even for disney standards. I'll be willing to bet a lot of the s1 budget was on this scene, and it looks spectacular
There are clips online of the whole show. The ads are annoying but there is a playlist of 173 or something like that clips of each episode in order.
Its on Disney Plus
Shows you how much Disney is stepping up its game. Especially after the whole teen sitcom era. Yuck! 😖
1:00 Eda really YEETED Lilith >:3
She set Lilith blasting off like Team Rocket 😂😂😂
You can tell how much effort they made into making and animating this.
It’s crazy.
"You always looked down on me because i'm wild, but fortunately that just made me work harder than you!"
AND THEN THE SMOOTH ASS ANIMATION KICKS IN I LOVE THIS FIGHT SO MUCH
*H o o o*
I love watching eda kick liliths butt, too bad it lead to her becoming the owl forever
I think the emperor is going to heal her (he *is* apparently "more powerful" than Eda after all. Plus, I don't think an owl beast is going to be of much use so they are going to have to do something about her curse)
No one really know eda's full potential, thats why? Idk
I do too. I have a suspicion Eda will be back though. If not ima head out and cry
Its sad when your little sister at her weakest beat you

You may have outsmarted me, but I outsmarted your outmarting!
When luz introduced JoJo's bizarre adventure to Eda
Man that was barely around 10 spells I saw Eda use and she still got tired, that curse must really be something.
Maybe she uses her strongest spells that tend to take a lot of energy from her, since her plan was to take Luz back even if it cost her everything
Also the curse as she said was getting worse every day to the point that a bunch of bottles weren't enough to cure her completely
This fight is so breathtaking
Is it me or the "hoot hoot" of the big light owl eda made sounded like freddy from fnaf
That final line brings me to tears every time.
Me too.
Eda really is the most powerful witch in the boiling isle.
The fighting choreography in this episode and the one where amity fights hunter are the best I've seen
I really love the animation during the fight. You can tell they put a lot of their budget towards that and it’s amazing.
Can we acknowledge that Eda was this powerful while tired and with a literal curse?
This fight was Awesooome. Lilith trying to play it charming villain but Eda going in full force, done with games. The pure power and creativeness Eda had, that even Lilith (the next best witch so far) had to use Luz as a shield the whole time just to tie. The like 10 circle attack spell? Edas Scathing ™️ words, absolute Badass.
Love how the guards casually start watching them fight
I mean. Front row seats to two of the most powerful beings in the isle duking it out. No chance at lasting if one was to get in the way either XD
This fight gives me chills. Especially now in season two. Seeing how much weaker Eda is is crazy, she used to be so strong.
"But then how pathetic are you, that you can't best me at my worst?"
"I am better than you"
"Then why were you so easy to curse?"
I'm OBSESSED with those 3 lines, they're just so powerful and so charged with so many strong emotions, they're just so UGHHHHH I love it sm
The two dislikes are trom lilith and belos
This one scene is better than most shows I’ve seen
Considering the fact that Eda is weakened here, she indeed would be really powerful without curse. She deserved "The most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles" title.
Almost a year later, and I still feel the tears coming.
I don’t think we understand how powerful Ed’s would be without her curse like holy hoots.
0:07 that's the face of a mother when you mess with her kid
Amen to that
This might be one of the coolest fighting scenes in cartoon history.
2:15
"Can you do something with your superiority complex?"
"But i am superior."
"Luz, thank you for being in my life" hits different. So fucking good
I like the fights in TOH because they aren't as basic as we're used to in American animations, but they're not as overly confusing as most anime, it's really The best of both worlds
Remind me not to fuck with the Clawthornes
to this day this is one of the best fights ive seen in animation
The animation in this fight was even smoother than Hooty’s brain
Eda has mastered the practice of every type of magic that exists and even uses an owl-themed magic that seems to be unique to her, I interpret this as if she created this magic.
Definitely the most powerful witch in the boiling isles
Considering Darius bent abomination goo in accordance to medieval weapons idk about that. Although it does seem like only powerful witches are capable of that
Especially when we found out that belos was a fraud. Dude wasn't even a witch, Just a human who carved spells onto his body to get power.
@@alphonsejohnson5601and he only got self inflicted curse from that
This reminds me so much of Stanley and Stanford Pines from Gravity Falls.
When a fun-and-games character doesnt care about banter, you know it is dead serious.

I LOVEEEEEEE when witches do that with their staffs
This fight slaps so unnecessarily hard. This cute, weird, creative kids show randomly decided to be dragon ball z for about 120 seconds and I'm so glad it did.
The whole crew, animators, sound designers, artist, actors, really really sold it
the delivery of literally every line, the epic twist, the animations, this is literally my favourite scene!
That moment you realize that belos essentially arranged for all of this to happen because Lilith punched him in the nose
"He doesn't want to heal me, he wants to control me"
"Then I'll take you in by force."
Without a hint of irony, lmao
AAAAUUUU
THE ANIMATION IS SO PRETTY THO
“Then WHY were you so EASY TO CURSE?!”
famous last words
…almost
I cannot wait till Amity finds out Lilith tried to kill Luz. I hope she unlocks some epic love for Luz power. Then again. I'm hoping Luz unlocked some epic emotional power when she rescues Eda.
I don’t think Lilith *ever* tried to kill Luz but rather use her as bait for Eda to come and loose her magic
@@SillySpiderWeb Still she never shows remorse or care for whatever happens to Luz. If Luz died from the outcome Lilith be like "hMPH GOOD RIDDANCE."
0:15 - the ferocity and intensity that Eda came out of that first attack was actually frightening. Amazing part on the animators.
Got chills at 1:47 , Eda is OP I love her and this show so much.
the pain in eda's voice at the end, imagine how much she had felt during that moment.
Eda voice actor Wendie Malick was amazing this episode
Imagine if Eda was using full power
Why isn't anybody talking about Wendie’s voice acting here?
When eda said she one of the most powerful witches in the boiling isle I thought I she was lying but seeing this JEEZE SHES NOT LYING I DONT WANT TO MESS WITH HER 0-0
