Great tutorial! I'd like however to add, that for the beginning, no matter if your first tries are behind the boat or with the kite, the best will be to have only one strap in front of the board. Foiling strapless for the beginner is complicated, especially with the kite, because it requires some skills in the board handling. Starting with two or three straps is dangerous, because it's increases the risk being hitted by the foil. Also at the beginning the freedom of the back foot is very important. For starting you would like to place the back foot close to the front foot to avoid taking off, and then slowly shift it back. I would suggest to every beginner start with very loose front strap, which will allow easily jump out of the board. And when you are becoming more experienced you can think about riding strapless or putting back strap if you want to jump.

Thank you Rygo and company! Thumbs up! Appreciate the vids! One question... for surf foiling behind the boat, where does the rope attach to the boat? (can’t make it out in the videos.)

You can surf behind a pontoon with a hydrofoil.

@rygo I couldn't find your link to the pdf - am I missing something? I've been kitefoiling for a few years and am completely spoiled by the foil. I pretty much stopped kite surf and TT except for the very infrequent ride sandwiched between foiling. I'm ~100Kg and ride a 1500cm2 in light wind and 1150 in anything over 12kts. I've ridden lots of different wings 1050-1850, masts from 60-102cm. I recently tried to teach a buddy who is a competitive barefooter to foil behind his sanger. He struggled with my dwarfcraft 120 + 1500 wing. I got my old SS simulator with an old takuma concept foil - I learned on and it was super easy imho (60cm mast). My friend definitely did better with this but still only managed to get up for a few seconds. I see recommendations for really big foils like >2000cm2 for beginners. I found going 15mph on my 1500 really slow. For me to start playing with ropeless, what kind of front wing would you recommend and what boat speed? I make most of my jybes, working on tacks, riding with more power, etc. Appreciate any advice.
    p.s. Thanks for the video!

Thank you for sharing the stoke, my friend. 🤙🏽 Sorry-there actually isn’t a PDF download for this content. Does your boat have a ballast system to create a surf wake? If not, do you have ballast bags retrofitted to add weight for making a good surf wake? -Aaron

Is there any wings that will work for every thing weather its behind a boat, no rope or with a kite? Also are there boards that work for everything also?

Thanks for asking, my friend. 🤙🏽 Not quite sure... Sometimes we use Teflon tape on the bolts to allow them to come undone easier. Is that what you're seeing? -Aaron

The guy in your example was not using a leash on the surf with others, very dangers with a foil board.
