What I like about Naomi is the criticism she gives is always relevant and direct. ANTM always had these terrible critiques that seemed to be more about making some girl cry. These girls are very young and it’s probably intimidating because of her stature but you can’t just sit there and weep. It’s immature and unprofessional.
And Naomi is still a WORKING model. To me, that makes any critique Naomi gives much more valid. Tyra's information seemed to be based in her glory days about 40 pounds and 20 years in the past.
@@jonwiley2592 Tyra has more of a swimsuit and lingerie experience but I’ll take it over the advice of some of the guest judges she brings on that show. It’s not as valuable when compared to Naomi’s experience though, I agree. The girls on Naomi’s look like potential models, the ANTM girls look like reality show contestants.
Jay and Jay both worked in real high fashion shows and coaching, photoshoots and co-producing tons of shows
Tyra did high fashion modelling in the early to mid 90s early in her career. It was only after she started gaining weight and getting more curvy that she transitioned to the swimsuit/lingerie stuff. Also, there were a pretty good mix of girls on the show; some more high fashion, some more commercial.@@micca903

I may not agree with Naomi all the time. I even think she’s a bit narcissistic, but what sets her apart from Tyra is that she isn't playing the nice girl. She is what she is. Take it or leave it. And I can respect that.
Tyra, on the other hand, is receiving a lot of criticism right now because she portrayed herself as the good fairy godmother during her time on ANTM, only for people to find out about how she treated the girls on the show.

I worked for someone with a very similar personality and it was a nightmare. Nonstop yelling and stress. She is amazing at what she does, no doubt. But I would never surround myself with someone who talks to me like that ever again.
true with all her beauty and access to rich men no one wanted to marry her. in her fifties she had kids - probably through surrogate. everyone prasing her knows someone like this in real life and avoids them. just because she is successful it is 'oh she is a great mentor' there is a way to talk to people that doesnt involve alientating them

Her critique is valid but her tone can rattle anyone and instead of doing it well the 2nd time, you are paralyzed with fear. No one functions well after being shouted at.
That depends on what you like in a person. I like her directness and she has earned the right to criticize them, it’s not like it’s coming from some random influencer like Tyra Banks sometimes has on her show. They need to know that they can’t just weep whenever they get some criticism.
