I have sat here in my living room crying every day for a week trying to grasp at some idea at who we are and why we do the things we do to each other that causes so much pain, fear, and tears. Your song tonight (which I just now heard) reminded me of something I missed in all of this self-serving rumination. And that is the idea of our own humanity. How could I miss something so obvious and something that should be so clear to each and every one of us? The song, and your tears, helped raise me up tonight to remember that...to remember my own God-given humanity, and to remember as well to lean on that a little more thoughtfully, and dutifully, whenever I begin to feel entrapped by my own thoughts of uselessness and despair.
