Such a feelin's comin' over me
There is wonder in most everything I see
Not a cloud in the sky
Got the sun in my eyes
And I won't be surprised if it's a dream
Everything I want the world to be
Is now coming true especially for me
And the reason is clear
It's because you are here
You're the nearest thing to heaven that I've seen
I'm on the top of the world lookin' down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I've found ever since you've been around
Your love's put me at the top of the world
Something in the wind has learned my name
And it's tellin' me that things are not the same
In the leaves on the trees and the touch of the breeze
There's a pleasin' sense of happiness for me
There is only one wish on my mind
When this day is through I hope that I will find
That tomorrow will be just the same for you and me
All I need will be mine if you are here
I'm on the top of the world lookin' down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I've found ever since you've been around
Your love's put me at the top of the world - เพลง
Karen Carpenter's voice is one of a kind. Everytime I listen to this my tears just overflow
she will never be forgotten!
Same here. I just listened and my eyes are wet again. Karen, you are missed.
I feel the same way and they used this song in the movie Dark Shadows with Johnnie Depp😊
I agree...I tear up too
Yep same here....my heart is filled with the desire to scoop that woman up and keep her safe....
Her voice remains a national treasure.
@NicolasCage
@PaulMatthews
Such a lovely and natural voice and her breath control was amazing...like a beautiful wind instrument... Miss her but glad there's YT.
I harken back to 1973 at the Fantasia Skating rink in Sacramento California when it was time for the "ladies choice" segment of the program - this song was playing and the lovely young lady who skated along the edge searching for a partner chose me. My heart was thumping and my palms were sweaty but we managed to make it through to the end of the song. I never saw her again but this song still brings goosebumps. Thank you and god bless, wherever you are
We all have that person in our memories dude, god bless, peace to you
2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 , 2024 and this song is still on top of the world
Love, described in song.
Yeah
Can’t agree any more
I`m Japanese but I like this wonderful
rhythm. I`m young man so I`m sad because I could not listen this song on real time.
Yep LOVE THIS SONG
Truly a heavenly voice. We are blessed to hear it.

Hello from the Future
Think about this. No 50 dancers, no 300 lights, no ridiculous costume changes, no jumbo tron tv's, Just Pure talent!! Karen has the greatest female voice Ever! No one is even close, No One!
Her voice is so soft it's like silk. One of the greatest in music history. RIP Karen
It is just so sad she's gone. Never another voice like hers.
Yupp its true i also sad

Amen.
Listen to Shane Ericks' covers
Agreed. It is also sad that most of these "live" performances are lip synched.
"Sorry people of Earth, but I need this voice in Heaven". -God
Her voice is too good for the living world anyways.
Plus, this is the type of music you would always hear in Heaven and it's best she's there so she can make it possible.
We are so blessed to have shared this world with such an 👼
She has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard. Sang like an angel.
Lonewolf3073 u are right 😇
Ben Johnson - after publishing Shakespeare’s plays in 1623, did you die and go to Heaven?
The most beautiful female voice ever! Period! End of discussion!
I AGREE
Karen Carpenter - Arguably the best female voice in the history of music.

No doubt!!!!
For me, the most beautiful voice anybody will ever hear.
@@PerAllwin1963
The most beautiful voice you will ever hear perhaps, you do not speak for anyone else.
Agreed
R.I.P. Karen Carpenter
(1950-1983)
To think she would 70 years old if she were still here
Wuaoo era tan joven?

Sí.Una pena.
Bruh that is so sad 😭😭😭😢😭
She died at 33 years old? That's even more tragic.
Her voice is like a warm hug!
I never thought about it like that, but you are absolutely right.
FortyNeiner 😊
FortyNeiner so very true.
🤯 Yes !
Reminds me of my childhood days....One of my dad's favorite songs

Her low notes are lovely, rich and deep. Rest in Peace to someone we lost way too soon.

I’ve been listening to it since It came out and I’m 50 years old and I’m not tired of it yet and this is one song I don’t think anybody is tired of it and it sooths my dog to sleep every night
Karen Carpenter: better female voice ever, listen to her is like an angel singing
agree
This song puts me in a good mood :)
+Maddie C Her voice could calm a wild lion or bear. It's so mesmerizing. So surreal. If I'm ever upset or pissed off, I just listen to a couple of her songs.
+XanderZane I know right?!...she was an amazing artist :(
Same, until I think about what happened to her
Mads C I know right! she has a wonderful voice. but she starved to death.😓😭😢😢😭😢😭😢😢😭😢😦😢😭😢😭😢😭😢
what happened to her??
Karen Carpenter had one of the most beautiful voices in music history.
And Freddie Mercury
Vincent Snijder you’re being serious? 😂
👍1000000000000
There is something very special About her
So true and songs were recorded on analog tapes from 1950-80s there was no digital recording to alter her voice in 1970s. Unlike artist of today, (David Bowie who know music industry) once said 90% artist voices are altered "Adele" does not sound same in concerts. Takes this just "matter opinion"
Karen was pure gold..she was perfect with her music...it's always made me feel good inside..sure miss her...r.i.p. Karen carpenter!;
If you start smiling and shaking your head side to side when it begins drop a like .
This is the happiest song ever
Dark Shadows brought me here. A song I had forgotten from my childhood. Wow what a beautiful voice. RIP Karen
As a little boy in the early 70's, I had a huge crush on Karen Carpenter.
In 2020, I still do. Hope to run into her on the other side.
your 50
Who didn't?

What an amazing voice I have this brilliant song on vinyl went out to buy it at the time, Rest In Peace Karen Carpenter we still love you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
If you believe that God hath raised Yeshua Hamashiac aka Jesus Christ back from the dead and He rose to life then you will!!
i was born april 12 2005 and i regret being born late to see this angel sing but im grateful to be born just in time to hear her beautiful voice
I'm 35 years old but still listening this..
I wasn’t even born when this song was released, but for some reason I feel really nostalgic every time I hear this song... 🤔

Its because of shrek 4

You would dead inside if you didn't feel anything

Damn, what a beautiful masterpiece.......................tears when i hear that Angelic Voice.
+Jeffrey Miller I know! her voice is perfectly clean, she really is a "voice genius" and is very talented to master that. she is amazing!
amen--couldn't have said it better myself
I found this song today and I can't stop listening to it... It is simply beautiful. I can't believe I didn't hear this song before.
No song will ever replace this song
- Shrek
- Friends
- Dark Shadows
God thank u hahaha

Nolan’s Cheese commercial
Also heard on the radio station Emotion 98.3 in the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
Gilmore Girls (The seasons)
Her voice was perfection. So clear, so emotionally powerful and so captivating. A shame she died so young. :(
indeed
Anorexia got her sadly. Truly a shame
it's sad that one article commenting that she is a chubby caused such havok. She must have been so fragile to have let it go so far.
@@3monsters014 Blame her brother. She wanted to have a family. He wanted a career. Karen was the key to that career. Anorexia was her way of rebelling.
So sad they wanted her to project an image
I’m a Japanese girl and They are my mom’s favorite and I’ve been listening and singing their songs since I was like 5 or 6. I didn’t know English back in time :) these were my first English songs I listened. Now I’m 18 and learning English for 6years. I think it’s because I’ve been in love with English songs since I first heard Carpenters’ songs. I entered a high school which has an English course and I met a friend who love Carpenters there!
Sometimes life can be hard, my mom had diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease that can’t be recovered. And I’ve diagnosed with a lupus which can’t be recovered too. but somehow, listening to their songs makes me think life is still great and there’re more fun things waiting for me ;)
Stay strong for you and your mother😊😊
@@vekos1486 thank you:)
I wish the world is as beautiful as this song.
I can't believe she was only 23 here!!! she had a voice and soul that was beyond her earthly years
+Craig Jordan Wow, that was her voice at 23? That's amazing!
Died at 33, and Bieber will live to 92
I don't think she was 23 yo here. This song was released when she was 23. I believe this was recorded near her death in 1983, because you can see how thin she is due to nervous anorexia she was suffering...
She looks ALOT better here compared to her 1981 tv appearances.
this was around 76 or 77. she did a live version of this song in 81. looked and sounded terrible. one of a kind though. my favorite of favorites
The male Singer simply delivers the most perfect 2nd voice, I'm in love with the way they harmonize!!
He is her brother Richard..
Richard Carpenter is her brother, the harmonizing voice. Very Good as you can hear
I was born in 73 when this song was released. I remember this song when my parents played the radio. Very special memories. ❤️
This is way better than the music we have now and days

This puts a huge smile on my face, remembering being a kid in the 70s, lots of good times and memories flood in.
It is sad that she could not see how beautiful she was. A loss indeed.
So young as well
Was someone picking on her to make her feel that way??
Looks like she's enjoying herself too. 😭
@@basquehound1999 her family
Karen Carpenter was a shining jewel that the world was so fortunate to have been able to enjoy the God given talents that she so graciously & selflessly gave. Time nor death will never tarnish that shine. RIP Karen Carpenter
Rest In Peace, Karen :(
A beautiful voice I wish existed in my lifetime.
Agree
I’m ashamed to admit - but I lived through this time and never appreciated what I had - until I lost it. RIP Karen.
We all made mistakes man. Just keep this bands pride forever!
I grew up listening to Led Zep, Carpenters, Tower of Power, you could hear all of them on the same radio station.
You are lucky! Those were times when people actually made music. Not what my generation sings now.
@@razorback9926 Great book: "Precious and Few: The Pop Music of the Early 70s." Back in the time you spoke of. Before formatting made everything so sterile.
I fell in love with this song in the 1990s. The carpenters were just before my time, but remember hearing them on radio. Karen has one of the best singing voices I have ever heard.
All they needed was a little brother. 😇 thanks Sis. 🙂 that photo of us together really changed my heart.
Shes got the most pleasant voice. So nice
Zander Willis I agree
Zander Willis Despite her passing, she's still left a long-lasting legacy.
Her voice is just in another level. there couldn't be such thing like level in voice but her voice really got such quality.
Zander Willis Listen to Shane Ericks cover of her song. She sounds like Karen.
A wonderful voice!!!
Never listened to such a beautiful song in my life, RIP Karen.
me too heard it from Singing competition in our country a certain lady sung it

The greatest singing voice in the history of popular music
Their second #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 from early 1973. It was playing when I was shopping at the supermarket yesterday! I have my Carpenters shirt, and I just received "The Carpenters - The Musical Legacy" about 400 page book earlier this week!
Classic music like this will never die.
susan brown word
susan brown: When music touches your heart and mind, you just know it will stay with you forever. ❤️
True!
Good music never dies
True bro... we listen to music from 20 to 200 years ago loving it... but stiff made last month sounds like monkey porn... classics will never die and no more classics will be made
I *still* fail to understand *how* anyone can dislike this. I mean, Karen and Richard were an amazing team!
Well i think cause the graphic and the place the acted too animation
I thought music was for the ears? not the eyes!?
Sigh... you're right, of course. D:

There is nothing in this video that is not deliciously lovable: her magnificent voice, the stage presence of the two brothers, the sweetness that erradicates so naturally from her❤
What a lovely voice Karen has.
yes indeed, but he womanizer clearly is he.
Nobody, nobody will ever have a more magnificent voice than her. Upon, hearing her sing, it gives me goosebumps and brings tears to my eyes. It also hurts to know that Karen could very well still be alive even to this day.
