Synopsis: Le Ying (played by Jia Ling) has been staying at home for many years, doing nothing in particular. After graduating from college and working for a while, Le Ying chooses to withdraw from society, closing herself off from social circles, which she believes is the best way to "reconcile" with herself. One day, after several twists of fate, she decides to live life in a different way. In cautiously venturing into the outside world, Le Ying meets boxing coach Hao Kun (played by Lei Jia-Yin). I know this has nothing to do with the quality of the movie. I heard actress loss 110 pound weight in this movie. This made me curious and want to watch!

she is not only actress, but also director, and that's how the movie shows a rare woman's perspective, worth watching!!

Saw it tonight and I really enjoyed it. The movie has so much surprising depth to it after its initial humorous start. I’m really so glad that I saw this!

The director is amazing. I loved "Hey, Mom". I'm down to watch any new movie by Jia, no matter what it's about. I was pretty excited to see some of the same actors too.
She is amazing！we say that “Hi mom” is dedicated to her mom while this movie YOLO is dedicated to herself. After “hi mom”, she promised to her fans in a joke that she will lose weight to be in a shape of lightening, and she kept her promise by making this movie, losing over 100 pounds !and the movie became a success! She is a legend and a role model for every woman in china now! However she is now the situation of Barbie's director, facing non-sense hates, defamation and boycott by men in china. If you read comments written by a Chinese man like it’s just a weight losing movie and that Jialing is only good at touting, don’t believe them. The movie is worth watching and inspiring for sure and I hope to see more women to be inspired by Jia Ling!!

Sony Pictures has acquired the rights of adapting her movie "Hey, Mon" to an English version. The production team has just finished the screenplay (the writer is female, too). I'm really excited and definitely going to see it when it is in theater!
I chose to watch this movie over the Imaginary film. I must say it was a good decision. I ❤️ the movie and the main actress. She won in her own way ... ✌️😶
Just watched it today, amazing! I can't believe it's only shown in 200 theaters in the US, but good job still SONY, nick pick! Again need a better trailer for more story related content, it's too vague to appeal random audience this way lol
I agree. They deliberately hid Jia Ling's after-weight-loss look in all the trailers, because everyone knows her in China and it's the biggest selling point. But outside of China it's pointless since barely anyone knows her.
So excited! Can’t wait to see it! But this trailer doesn’t really sell it. If I didn’t know about this film, I wouldn’t want to see it based on this trailer.
There’s so much more than a weight loss theme. It’s about a common woman’s struggles and fights for her dignity as a human being. Would be helpful if knowing more of the current Chinese culture….

This movie was amazing. I’m glad the trailer didn’t give anything away. I’m not usually one for subtitles either, but they didn’t phase me at all.
What a great movie! Director Jialing used her practical actions to interpret the theme of the movie, which is both exciting and explosive! It's incredibly good-looking!

It's an outstanding film,incredibly touching and uplifting,the trailer doesn't do it justice.
The fact Barbie broke records and this likely won't is a sad indictment on our culture.
I do believe this movie has a deeper meaning than Barbie. Barbie is more of awakening women and telling them to achieve power over men which is somehow unrealistic. YOLO though shows the methodology to every normal woman, that is to love yourself as the first step and not to live up to the standards set by a man.

Yolo is a remake of Japaneses movie 100 yen love. All three movies may share the same storyline but convey different message. For one thing, Yolo is a comedy, different from the other two! There may be cultural barrier to understand all the jokes, but the inspiration and self-love message is universal, definitely worth watching!
"Hot and Spicy" is 100 times more beautiful than "100 Yen Love", and they are simply not at the same level of the movie!

No, it’s about a soft-heated woman finding her dignity through boxing, based on the storyline of the movies million dollar baby and 100 yen love. The movie is directed by a female director and thus doesn’t involve any man’s judgement in woman characters development, which is valuable. Highly recommended

You ought to know it's not. Yolo bought the rights of a Japanese movie called 100 Yen Love, so this is the remake of 100 Yen Love, which both 100 Yen Love and YOLO are different than Million Dollar Baby, the themes are entirely different, the only common ground is boxing.
