Im not impressed to be honest. Might still be a good game, but those load times between areas is like wtf. And the bethesda characters has to be a deliberate choice. They look so wierd Edit: I did get the premium edition through a gpu upgaade. Gotta say, it lives up to past bethesda games (76 not included) and I do really like. Its not that new, but it doesnt feel old either. If you like Fallout 4 and Skyrim, you will like this. Loading isnt bad. There are a few simple tricks to skip some of the additional fluff like from landing to getting off your ship. Learn those its easy to skip the majority of those 50 load screens.
15 hours in and I love it. The game just has a plethora of content and takes it to a new level for BGS. The combat is far better than i thought it'd be and more satisfying than Fallout for sure. Only had about 2 minor glitches with the game that immediately resolved themselves and were just amusing lol. You have to remember what makes these games magic. It's the freedom of choice and the plethora of content that'll have people uploading there own clips for years to come. Just on day one there was already just a ton of funny content in the form of bugs, funny dialogue, interesting discoveries etc etc. And also the modders are going to have an absolute field day with this one. This game will be relevant for years and will match if not exceed the success of Skyrim. People complaining this isn't their perfect space sim with seamless no loading screen travel in a simulated universe just need to donate to the star citizen fund and play that game and realize this is a killer space RPG
Is combat too easy though? Not a deal breaker but the combat does look a bit lacking as ai looks a bit easy and it looks like higher difficulty is just more bullet sponginess
@@YoBrand15 the ai is actually a serious improvement over fallout 76 but at the end of the day it’s Bethesda ai and should be lokked it at that way ,one thing I’ll say is the gun play is super satisfying in comparison to how it looks

I do kinda wish there were less loading screen cutscene transitions like for fast traveling and leaving orbit since that does ruin immersion somewhat by just waiting for the game to play itself during cool moments but the rest looks fine so it's alright I guess

The first few ours of Starfield somehow gave me Mass Effect 1 vibes... and hit me with a massive nostalgia wave. Somehow it feels similar to it - no "open world" per se, but interesting "smaller" areas packed with things to see and an amazing atmosphere. The only really "bad" point I remember from ME1, was the all planets you could land on were often kind of bland. But in Starfield the breath-taking vistas make those at the least stunning to look at while you search for stuff to loot. ME1 is still my favourite my favourite Space-RPG even though the sequels definitely did things better. But I am starting to think that Starfield will change that pretty quickly, because it feels like how I remember ME1 and what I wished for a new Mass Effect game to be like. It's all there: nice combat, intriguing exploration, interesting characters and interactions, your own cool spaceship, weapon and gear modding and customisation and even the facial animation that are a bit off sometimes. 😅 The only way to describe it in a TLDR way is that I just feel right at home. 😊
I was a big fan of the Outer Worlds and my biggest issue was that you couldn't fly the spaceship. This game fixes that and is much bigger in scale so I can't wait to get my hands on it, hopefully The Outer Worlds 2 follows suit, we need more large scale space rpgs Edit; Seems I've got a lot of people in the replies who don't like the game. still they are respawning in same locations and are doing same actions, harder levels only do more dmg and are more tanky, but they are stupid no matter which difficulty you will select@@neamad69

The only beef i got with the game is you just fast travel everywhere and you cant take off with your ship, there are just loading screens. But besides that its awesome.
@@Zirion123 I don't think its the graphics that are the issue. My guess is that Starfield is a story based game with lots of NPC's that you can interact with. Making a Bethesda game with NMS exploration would probably cause a ton of issues with bugs. I don't think NMS has any scripted dialogue or scripted events does it?
i am 67 and there are not a lot of games for me to get exited about and that included this one after all the dissapointments from this studio over the years. but after seeing this its looks cool the right amount of gravitass and paceing and some very nice visuals and textures. i cant wait to play it now.
Diffrence is Starfield is a real game, probably many bugs and stuff like every release while star citizen is way too ambitious to ever be released in the next 10-15 years
but don't you think that not actually being able to fly your ship is a massive downgrade on gameplay? Like surely that should be the bare minimum on a game that is centered around flying and exploring the galaxy in a space ship. like it dosen't even need to be high effort, no mans sky did it perfectly where you are sitting in your ship and you basically just warp outside the atmosphere in a few seconds, far more immersive than just watching a cutscene every time, despite the fact they essentially have the exact same purpose compared to nms
I’m on PS5 so unfortunately I can’t play it myself but I’m looking forward to watching gameplay as it does sound pretty cool. I can’t complain though as Spider-Man 2 is just round the corner

this new update to Bethesdas engine looks really good, comparing this to Fallout 4 is night and day, this looks next gen (except the NPCs but that is never Bethesdas strong point historically) i can only imagine what the next Elder scrolls will look like
God, this has to be the best playthrough I've watched in a really long time. I'm truly stoked for this game. I'm also getting a really big Elite Dangerous vibe from this gameplay so far....
After playing BG3 for a few weeks, the dialogue options, the voice acting and the face animation of the characters feel a bit underwhelming. Not being able to take off from, and land on planets is pretty disappointing.
Bethesda games are always going to be 10 years behind on things like realistic looking & moving NPCs until they switch engines, and yeah I really thought they'd let you land or takeoff

@@toziassmittjack also notoriously plays campaigns on easier difficulty for better video making so hes not stuck in combat for extended periods of time lol From my experience so far the enemies are chunkier and use way more cover even just on normal
@@Subsistence69 the difficulty won’t affect how responsive and smart the AI is, a harder difficulty will only mean that it takes more damage to kill the enemies. Some reviews have noted this, how some bosses can be “bullet spongy” but that’s a whole separate issue. The fact is, for me, the AI is below par here

So far it doesn't seem bad. I'm gonna have to watch some more I guess, late game gameplay to see. I feel like constantly going to the menu to travel or do stuff will get old fast like some people were saying. Fast travel to space, fast travel to a location, fast travel to the ship, fast travel back to space and so on. I hope there's more actual exploration later on.
Going to the menu to travel doesn't bother me at all personally rather that then stare at the sake planet slowly getting closer for ten straight minutes etc.
@@sethhowerton1489that's what realism of space is about.. Fast travel is for impatient kids who just want to engage in combats or do some mission fast.. Entering a planet on our own or watching a planet get closer for 10 min is for those who want to stimulate space experience. Atleast should have had both option .

First impression it's quality. When the elevator gets down the big mining cave in the first images, the shaking of the elevator shakes the ropes that are conected to the ceiling in a very realistic and detailed way. When you destroy a beryllium deposit it wrecks in parts and the pars have phiscs so it's not an animation it's a wrecked deposit itself. That was an example and I saw more good thing in only 4 minutes of gameplay. Very good.
I’m sure the game is gonna be great in ways but the outer space stuff is genuinely bland and uninspired… makes me sad that you can’t actually move around in space and you just hang out in a tiny little box and all planets and stars are nothing more than a backdrop on the walls of said box. You can’t move closer or further away from them. Let’s hope the planetary zones are more interesting.
Seriously. I don't know if I can even get this game without it. Seems too dull as single player only EDIT: I forget it's in the PC Xbox game pass, so I'm downloading it now to try
loading screen for everything, loot items basically as text in boxes instead of physical items and 3 meter long enemy health bars and near zero control of your ship in a SPACE GAME. Truly a game that can be only made in a multi million dollar company. I'll have what you guys having just so I find this fun as well and not boring. I've never skipped so many 5 seconds on youtube considering I was watching a brand new game. I bet Fallout 76 is more exciting to explore than this.

THE MANUAL LANDING IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING TO - FADEOUTS TAKE AWAY SO MUCH OF THAT CAPT / SHIP RELATION - JUST A BUMMER THERE! AND I HAD NO IDEA SHIP CUSTOMIZATION WOULD BE LATER.
So many loading screens they only last a few seconds on series x but there still annoying your constantly into your map jumping to a system then pressing lb then x to land at a port another loading screen then getting out of your ship basically got like 3/4 loading screens everytime you wanna go to another planet , still loving the game but just a personal gripe

@@hhaste I have never played Elite Dangerous but it looks really good from what I have seen. Do you mine minerals and stuff with a mining laser in that game too? Also the whole scanning visor that lists flora, fauna, and minerals is exactly like NMS, dunno about Elite Dangerous.
I kinda like it from what i have seen this far. But damn those loadings and all that menu clicking when travelling with the ship really breaks the immersion, i think they should have done it in some more elegant way. Elite Dangerous basically does it in the same way, but it's loading screens are hidden behind the charging of the warp drive and the jump animation, plus the player controlls the whole interface through the panels inside of his ship, so it doesn't feel like clicking through menus but more like actually using your ship while you sit inside of it.
The dialogue system is way better than what Fallout 4 had to offer. It really reminds me of New Vegas with speech checks. I like this

SC only has one loading screen: when you boot into the game, after that, everything all takes place in one seamless universe. SF is nothing like that.@@lewis0705

The only beef i got with the game is you just fast travel everywhere and you cant take off with your ship, there are just loading screens. But besides that its awesome.

@@Zirion123 I don't think its the graphics that are the issue. My guess is that Starfield is a story based game with lots of NPC's that you can interact with. Making a Bethesda game with NMS exploration would probably cause a ton of issues with bugs.

i am 67 and there are not a lot of games for me to get exited about and that included this one after all the dissapointments from this studio over the years.
but after seeing this its looks cool the right amount of gravitass and paceing and some very nice visuals and textures.
i cant wait to play it now.

Diffrence is Starfield is a real game, probably many bugs and stuff like every release while star citizen is way too ambitious to ever be released in the next 10-15 years

but don't you think that not actually being able to fly your ship is a massive downgrade on gameplay? Like surely that should be the bare minimum on a game that is centered around flying and exploring the galaxy in a space ship. like it dosen't even need to be high effort, no mans sky did it perfectly where you are sitting in your ship and you basically just warp outside the atmosphere in a few seconds, far more immersive than just watching a cutscene every time, despite the fact they essentially have the exact same purpose compared to nms
I’m on PS5 so unfortunately I can’t play it myself but I’m looking forward to watching gameplay as it does sound pretty cool. I can’t complain though as Spider-Man 2 is just round the corner

@@ryseretro nope. Just Xbox series X/S and PC. It’s because it’s made by Bethesda and they’re owned by Microsoft so they can make games exclusive if they want. Kinda like how Sony owns Spider-Man

this new update to Bethesdas engine looks really good, comparing this to Fallout 4 is night and day, this looks next gen (except the NPCs but that is never Bethesdas strong point historically) i can only imagine what the next Elder scrolls will look like

After playing BG3 for a few weeks, the dialogue options, the voice acting and the face animation of the characters feel a bit underwhelming. Not being able to take off from, and land on planets is pretty disappointing.
I hate how uncanny the npcs are. Nobody makes that much eye contact in real life.
Bethesda games are always going to be 10 years behind on things like realistic looking & moving NPCs until they switch engines, and yeah I really thought they'd let you land or takeoff
Given the scope and graphical fidelity it's understandable, this sounds more like a baseless nitpick if you ask me.

This is just space fallout. Which im now in love with. This video sold me on the game, now I wanna get lost in this game.

Different planets give you harder enemies and missions, this basically the tutorial lmaoo
@@Ejp23_the AI still sucks though. Jack walked up to enemies and they didn’t even turn to face him, the AI won’t change and the AI is ass tbh
@@toziassmittjack also notoriously plays campaigns on easier difficulty for better video making so hes not stuck in combat for extended periods of time lol
From my experience so far the enemies are chunkier and use way more cover even just on normal
@@Subsistence69 the difficulty won’t affect how responsive and smart the AI is, a harder difficulty will only mean that it takes more damage to kill the enemies. Some reviews have noted this, how some bosses can be “bullet spongy” but that’s a whole separate issue. The fact is, for me, the AI is below par here

So far it doesn't seem bad. I'm gonna have to watch some more I guess, late game gameplay to see. I feel like constantly going to the menu to travel or do stuff will get old fast like some people were saying. Fast travel to space, fast travel to a location, fast travel to the ship, fast travel back to space and so on. I hope there's more actual exploration later on.
Going to the menu to travel doesn't bother me at all personally rather that then stare at the sake planet slowly getting closer for ten straight minutes etc.

Entering a planet on our own or watching a planet get closer for 10 min is for those who want to stimulate space experience.

First impression it's quality. When the elevator gets down the big mining cave in the first images, the shaking of the elevator shakes the ropes that are conected to the ceiling in a very realistic and detailed way. When you destroy a beryllium deposit it wrecks in parts and the pars have phiscs so it's not an animation it's a wrecked deposit itself. That was an example and I saw more good thing in only 4 minutes of gameplay. Very good.
I'm kinda enoying it so far, but jeezo... this game was oversold and over hyped to hell. I am definitely not blown away by it

I’m sure the game is gonna be great in ways but the outer space stuff is genuinely bland and uninspired… makes me sad that you can’t actually move around in space and you just hang out in a tiny little box and all planets and stars are nothing more than a backdrop on the walls of said box. You can’t move closer or further away from them. Let’s hope the planetary zones are more interesting.

If you read Dead Space Martyr, the atmosphere before Necromorphs was still pretty creepy.
Star Citizen killed this a little for me. Didn't realise how much I liked entering and leaving atmosphere, until I saw the loading/cut scenes here.
There not being any coop is such a huge missed opportunity. Imagine roaming the galaxy with your friend!

loading screen for everything, loot items basically as text in boxes instead of physical items and 3 meter long enemy health bars and near zero control of your ship in a SPACE GAME. Truly a game that can be only made in a multi million dollar company. I'll have what you guys having just so I find this fun as well and not boring.

I bet Fallout 76 is more exciting to explore than this.
This would be so much better if you could do flying to and from planets and being able to explore the planet.

THE MANUAL LANDING IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING TO - FADEOUTS TAKE AWAY SO MUCH OF THAT CAPT / SHIP RELATION - JUST A BUMMER THERE! AND I HAD NO IDEA SHIP CUSTOMIZATION WOULD BE LATER.
So far I'm in LOVE. The game looks Amazing and definitely looks up to date in overall technical capabilities. Can't wait to play on Day 1 Gamepass!

So many loading screens they only last a few seconds on series x but there still annoying your constantly into your map jumping to a system then pressing lb then x to land at a port another loading screen then getting out of your ship basically got like 3/4 loading screens everytime you wanna go to another planet , still loving the game but just a personal gripe

It is honestly surprising just how similar this is to No Man's Sky. I wonder if there was any devs taken from NMS to work on Starfield.
It's even more similar to Elite Dangerous. Many things from that game are directly taken and implemented in this game.
@@hhaste I have never played Elite Dangerous but it looks really good from what I have seen. Do you mine minerals and stuff with a mining laser in that game too? Also the whole scanning visor that lists flora, fauna, and minerals is exactly like NMS, dunno about Elite Dangerous.

I kinda like it from what i have seen this far. But damn those loadings and all that menu clicking when travelling with the ship really breaks the immersion, i think they should have done it in some more elegant way. Elite Dangerous basically does it in the same way, but it's loading screens are hidden behind the charging of the warp drive and the jump animation, plus the player controlls the whole interface through the panels inside of his ship, so it doesn't feel like clicking through menus but more like actually using your ship while you sit inside of it.
Looks great, but loading screens. Its like they took all the fun parts out of it.
One thing that immediately stands out is that the NPCs are more animated than previous games
