That I don’t need to slide my foot up like a flat ground ollie but instead roll the foot. Plus the timing. Cheers JB

favorite trick ever on mini-ramp, gateway to so many other tricks. once they become comfortable you can really perfect the pop and easily get several feet high and just smack em down to board or tail

What’s your favorite trick you learned from a fakie Ollie in transition?

I coincidentally started trying this today, with the thought foot placement would be the same as a flat ground ollie, having the front foot start just forward of the middle of the board. Seeing this makes much more sense.

OMFG! That secret about sucking, pulling the knees into the chest to make ollies higher is GENIUS. I've watched so many people dump off their boards cuz they're trying to POP & JUMP HIGHER in their ollies. Question: Does sucking & pulling the knees into the chest also make air outs higher? Asking for a friend. Thanks Coach. BTW, I appreciate you explaining why there's blue tape on the big bowl. Skaters ponder this sitting on the wall while they wait their turn.

The answer to your question is yes. Sucking your knees into your chest makes for some sick looking air outs. Plus it will allow you to grab your board easier if you're wanting to do some grab tricks.

@@spitwicked6188 Thanks! My friend's really psyched to put some extra oomph in her ollies and air outs. She won't do grabs tho cuz it ruins her manicure, ROFL! It sucks to break a nail, ROFL.

@@spitwicked6188 I'm trying hard to keep my knees pulled up towards my chest when doing fly outs / air outs, but my body instinctively want to extend the legs as soon as possible, probably as a way to find "safe ground". I'm trying to find some ways to trick my mind / body into relaxing in the air instead of freaking out :)

@ Honestly, the only way i can trick my mind is to put pads on. I mostly just use knee pads when i'm learning new tricks but that alone keeps my mind at ease.

@@maribaby2u That is funny as hell but so true. Some girls put a lot of work into their nails lol. Got to look good while doing those air outs!
