Hi everyone! I'm bringing yet another one of my personal mixes, in today's video I'll be presenting you my take on the track "Stranger In Moscow".
The song was originally recorded during the "History" album sessions, But in this mix I'll be reconstructing the song as if it were made during the "Bad" album sessions! Please leave any suggestions for future mixes!

Originally written in 1985 under the name "Victory In Moscow", which was never released. Another version was recorded around November 1986 to March 1987 and was finished around the time he recorded Cheater. It sounded decent was eventually shelved for quite a long time. It was eventually picked up again after he worked on Sonic The Hedgehog in 1994. He took inspiration from the credits in the game and used that to incorporate that in his next song, in which became the version we all know and love. The original 1986 demo was leaked online December 9th of this year by Quality Mixes.

Written and composed as a Rhythm instrumental as far back as 1977 before The Jacksons Destiny sessions. Michael Jackson co-wrote the rhythm arrangement with sister Janet in their home studio. Jackson would later come back to the track during the Off the Wall sessions in December 1978 and would develop the rhythm into a full instrumental with some lyrics but ultimately stayed very unfinished until 1985 during the early Bad sessions when Jackson teamed up with the b-team to bring the full song into full fruition. The track itself would be finished by January 1986 but ultimately left off the album for unknown reasons. The song would be reworked for both Dangerous and HIStory albums with it ultimately being finished and landing on the latter. The song was also heard as an instrumental in the credits of Sonic 3.
The first finished version Stranger in Moscow would be leaked by Quality Mixes on December 9, 2022.

In 1986, during the Bad sessions (also Captain E.O. era), Michael Jackson would record the first version of Stranger in Moscow. Unfortunately, it would not make it into the final cut of the Bad album. It was revisited around 1993-1994 (Dangerous - HIStory era). First time when he contributed for the Sega game “Sonic the Hedgehog 3”. Jackson was not credited but those who were involved with both the song and the game’s composition were. The song was then reworked for the HIStory album with producers Brad Buxer and co., making it into the album and also as a sixth and last single in 1996.
The early version was released by Quality Mixes in December 9th, 2022.

I don't believe any of what has been posted here. According to Michael he was inspired to write the song in 1993 when he was on tour in Moscow when the allegations first broke. It was a lonely time for him. He felt isolated and alone. Song did not originate in the 80s.
