The Arknights Lore Compendium | The History of Ursus

- Chapter 9 is right around the corner, so let's do some recap on what happened in the 8 chapters and prologue before. More specifically, the history of the glorious motherland.
Since I'll be covering pretty much everything, there will be spoilers up to and including chapter 8.
We've had a lot of Ursus in the past year and a half. Maybe more than some of us might've wanted. Nevertheless, I think it's interesting to look into the kind of world Hypergryph crafted. When something happens, not only is it important to know what happened, but it's also good to know why it happened, and see how everything ties together.
Perhaps you'll appreciate the story more after this video. Who knows.
Lastly, I do apologize for my horrendous upload schedule. University is starting and I'm finding less time than before to record and edit. Hopefully my equally horrendous time management skills will be of use.

Finally, thank you. That long read throughout chapter 8 finally put into pieces in my mind thanks to this video, probably cause I was stressed with the stages and long story but still got the gist of many of them.
Yow! About to ask you this question long ago about the situation of Ursus since it's particularly really hard to understand even for the loremasters. Luckily you made a video for it to simplify things!
For those whom reading this. I still recommend to read the story since it detailed more in depth even tho they speak like Philosophers XD. Totally worth it if you're able to understand!

Would you say a direct comparison to Ursus would be Tsarist Russia? And what about the 'Third Army' frequently mentioned in the story? Was it being controlled by a noble or the Ursus Emperor himself?
Ursus does have a lot of similarities with Tsarist Russia, especially considering the Lenin reference at the end of chapter 6. As for the Third Army, it's controlled by the pro-war faction within Ursus and allowed Reunion to invade Chernobog unhindered at the start of the story.

As a Mongolian, I'm expecting The Great Khan and Mongol Conquest will be a thing or actually happened.

The Khagan: A powerful nomadic state of Nightzmoran Kurantas. Originating from the steppes in eastern Ursus, the Khagan led its Kheshigs for a grand conquest across Terra. It even once allied with Sargon to contain the monsters from the Foehn Hotlands. However, after the Khagan mysteriously vanished during the conquest of the Northlands a thousand years ago, the nation began to dissolve and its people were scattered acrossed Terra. It is likely a parallel to the Mongol Empire in our world.

I don't remember where I've heard it and it's probably not true, but i remember hearing that one of the reason Ursus was so lax about its internal conflict was that most of its ressource were used to fight the demons in the north trying to invade Terra. Which would also explain the way infected are handled, as they're basically more bothers than they're worth. Whether real or not, I must say it would be quite a twist for a nation that's often presented as the bad guys
Sorry for the late respond but it is real, Sami themselves fought these everyday
what is so bad about said demons are that the more troops know their existence the stronger they are, thus only wendigo (Patriot people that are stronger than his chap 8 state) fought these things and eventually they all fell leaving only Patriot alive, Ursus use shards of these demons corpses to create supersoldiers from their most loyal soldiers which most die from the process, those who are alive become the emperor blades and the 5 or so that chase us just so happen to be a small part that wasnt stuck fighting the aforementioned demons in place of the now extinct wendigo
