- In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

This is gonna be my first car so that’s why I’m watching this video but when he turned on the radio and then when Train started playing, I started to tear up. Then I realized that this video was made in 2010. That was 10 years ago!!! 😭😭
Same bro 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Same here😅🤣
I got an 06 Jetta today that was in really good shape, I am loving it!! This review was one of the motives behind me going for a Volkswagen.
Witzco608 you still happy with it?
Well that one is now long gone but I'm now happy with my MK6 Jetta TDI. :)
Train "Hey Soul Sister."
@@rmodjeski29 How about now? Do you still have your TDI?
Wow, this is the most DETAILED video of any car I have ever seen. Excellent job, man! This exact same car was a hand-me-down from my brother. Except in black. I watched this video and found things I didn't know my car had, haha
Why dont they bring inline 5s to the US anymore? Its more economical than a 6 cylinder and more powerful than a 4 cylinder yet sounds better than both of them
Matt Soriano because they wanted to move 5 cyl engines upmarket, into rs3 and tt-rs
They are only slightly better than a four cylinder. A 4 cylinder is going to be more smoother and have less sympathetic vibrations compared to a 5 cylinder. Now yes, in certain mid range RPMS it will be slightly smoother than a 4 but anything above or bellow the middle of the power band the engine is less smoother then it's more common counterparts.
My 2013 Jetta has the same engine
Just picked up an 06 jetta and super pleased. Almost 600 km on a tank!
Another great video Kyle, keep up the good work bud!
Thanks for this video, I asked you a while ago and I really enjoyed it. Greetings from Argentina. Excellent your channel
My first car is a 2006 Jetta 2.5. Awesome car.
That car is completely made here in Puebla Mexico, this car in the demostration is the exportation edition to the U.S and Canada, BUT..HERE IN MEXICO THE NAME IS BORA, NOT JETTA, because the jetta still on sale with the past line...The Bora here in MEXICO IS A VERY GOOD CAR......and all the Beetles in the U.S and Canada..are made in MEXICO...
i recently got a 2012 2.5L 5spd, i'm enjoying it. Fun little car, little to no aftermarket performance parts for it though... I'm toying with the idea of building a TDI project car
Have any of the dealerships ever sold any cars because of your video work? You do a great job in showing the cars. They are so kind to let you film.
Hey Kyle I found it lol Excellent video bud gave it a thumbs up!
Is there an Auxiliary cord plug in?
Where is the radio antenna on these models located. My radio antenna is shot and i cant find were to replace
I prefer this jetta model(2005-2010) over the new 2011 models.
This is going to be my first car
Can you demonstrate step by step how to start the engine? I have a Jetta Niqui that i need to transfer but have difficulty starting it up. Thank you.
It's a really nice looking car and I like how the outside and the inside look Germany made some great Volkswagen.
I sold my Roadmaster and my uncle lent me his 2008 Wolfsburg. At first I didn’t care for it but it’s actually a fun car to drive. He said I can use it until I find a replacement. I’m tempted to get a VW of this vintage, preferably a wagon.
We have a 2010 SportWagen 2.5 SE, with the automatic transmission, 130k miles, and I LOVE IT. My father bought it in 2019 and it has been great, only ever had the sparkplugs done, which we did. I don't know if you are still looking, but if you are, avoid getting a TDI if it has the automatic transmission, since the autos in the TDI used a DSG, and they are terrible to repair. My father wanted a TDI but also wanted an automatic. If it's a manual TDI then it will probably last at least 300k miles.
Nice, my GF's mom has an '06 TDI Jetta 4D Sedan in Campenella White Clear Coat with a Tan Leather interior, fully loaded. I have always loved VW's, but mostly Jetta 4D Sedans and Golf GTI's.
What does that keyhole by the gas tank and trunk switches do?
My dad had a Golf 5 Wagon in Blue miss the car so much nice Memories and the horn was loud aswell and had the same wheelcovers what u had at the rear ( its the same car at the Front)
Does 2006 Volkswagen Jetta · TDI Sedan 4D come with a aux cord ?
@hrnicek88 the passenger air bag only turns on when there is someone or something in the passenger seat. I am sure you have figured that out by now seeing how it was a 1 year ago you asked this.
@TJC450 You are right. We have an 06 tdi and the higher pitched one is for the seat belt.
Aquí en México se vendió con el nombre de Vw Bora el Jetta era otro modelo., Greetings from Guadalajara México.
Damn you are a lucky bastard. I got a 96 jetta for my first car. Love it though :D
What's with the different chirping sounds from the buzzers?
I love the jetta
How is the audio in this car?
could we see a test drive with the tip tronic?
@Hemihappy Thought so. Thanks for letting me know!
what kind of transmision is that?
@jwatwater wow.. not everyone has to have fancy wheels.. it's a very nice looking car. and the wheels look fine. lol
Could you do a test of Golf or Jetta with TDI engine?
...and I like your videos a lot!
@warphace Yea i know what you mean, my friend used to have a passat and it always had little problems whether it be something like the windows not working or some other electronic part.
could you do the white 540?
@posteri007
Even in Germany (when converted to USD, that is)?
Can u do a 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo beige color and black interior with sunroof with low mileage
@sjvirchow One for door and one for seatbealt maybe?
@pjtart We have an 06 diesel. On average we get 45 mpg in town. It is an awesome little car. 160k miles and not a single problem!
now THESE are rare to find in saabkyle04 vids. BTW kyle, have you heard of the new 6th generation jetta? now THAT's das auto.
I'm looking at an 09 red with beige interior..Idk what to do..I have hundreds of cars I'm looking at but need to buy within a week
Kyle, can you please do a 2008 Passat Luxury, 2.0T or V6? Thank you :)
Possibly the best VW they ever made.
True
Why does the chime switch pitch so much?
help if possible
Fuel pump quitting
Fuel pump replaced
Runs fine if wired direct to the battery.
Radiator cooling fans
come on at random times draining the battery, when they should come on when the radiator is hot and needs cooling and after turn the switch off. They came on when the car has been sitting for 2 days.
Last time it quit was because of a “Engine Cam Shaft Position Sensor” failure that made it not run, this only happened once. Fuel pump and cooling fans 6 to 8 times each.
Each time it sits for a few hours to a day or so, it will fire right up and run like there is nothing is wrong, in some cases for 2 or 3 months.
@posteri007 here in Brazil you would pay aproximately 30000 dollars for one of those... damn great car!
I'm really struggling to decide if I should get a gas Jetta or a Crown Vic as my daily driver. My CRV won't pass safety and it has a slipping transmission, so a replacement is definitely necessary, and it's my parents' old car. I know the gas mileage on the Jetta is a lot more, but I know the parts cost more. Anybody have any suggestions/opinions?
flyer2359x I know I'm probably late but if you have the Crown Vic people will probably drive better around you cuz they might think you're a police officer
I want this car soo bad
You should do a 1999-2005 jetta
Kyle can you please find a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta to give a tour on? Well, any year of the MK4 Jetta will do. :) And I'd really appreciate it if you'd do a test drive as well!
Wow love loud horn
man , whatever remix of Imma Be that is @ 6:14 is beast ! anyone recognize is ?
In Europe you can see many VW Jetta , many of them are with manual gearbox and 1,9 liter diesel engine.
@HoccyB not the same torque and torque curve the 2.5 has though. 170hp out of a 2.5 liter is average.
I love the tdi Jetta!
Wow for a Jetta that thing was loaded
Volkswagen is obviously the best cheap German car if you can't afford an Audi
VW owns audi lol
Mohammed R exactly
Yes
man just test drove one the other day
What do the different tones from the chime mean?
+Brayden Serna feet on and off breaks while the door is open
+Brayden Serna I don't care what they mean. Volkswagen is junk to me anyway. The only Volkswagen car I like is the Volkswagen Beetle. Everybody has to like the Volkswagen Beetle.
can you do 2011 VW Jetta
My uncle had a volkswagen jetta before his Mazda. It was a nice car, except the parking break sensor was broken so it would beep the entire time driving.
Is this a.gls,gl or gli
Nice 2004
cool
Yeah. The 2.5l gets equivalent sometimes better than my 2.0l :( . It sucks having older less efficient car's sometimes.
@popcornmagnet they are hubcaps
2.5L 125 kW (170 hp) I5
1.4L 103 kW (140 hp) TSI I4
1.4L 125 kW (170 hp) TSI I4
1.8L 110 kW (150 hp) 20V Turbo I4
1.8L 118kW (160 hp) TSI I4
2.0L 147 kW (200 hp) I4 TFSI
Diesel engines:
1.9L 77 kW (105 hp) I4 TDI
2.0L 103 kW (140 hp) I4 TDI
2.0L 125 kW (170 hp) I4 TDI
the average MPG on the 2005 Volkswagen Jetta automatic is
30 City 38 Highway
My only complaint is that it sucks in northern alberta, canadian winters. It takes forever to warm up but the gas mileage makes up for it.
A bulb burnt out while you were making this video.. lol
you need to do more beetle vids
the 2005-2010 Volkswagen Jetta was assembled in
Puebla, Mexico
Changchun, China
Uitenhage, South Africa
Aurangabad, India
Kaluga, Russia
Jakarta, Indonesia
Luanda, Angola
@pjtart Your welcome. I'm actually the same, i know more about japanese cars but i do know quite a bit on European cars.
@Annihilator1111 Well you are comparing a naturally aspirated motor(2.5) against the rest of that list which is forced induction aka. turbo or supercharger.
Same works by holding down the unlock button.
I have a 2020 Jetta SEL. Love the car but I really wanted this generation. I thought the body style was really nice for the money. I drove a Ford Focus at that time and it was a piece of junk when it hit 100K miles.
@posteri007 Down here in Brazil a new one costs 45.000 USD.
the transmission on the 2005-2010 Volkswagen Jetta/ Volkswagen Bora/
Volkswagen GLI/ Volkswagen Sagitar/ Volkswagen Vento/
Volkswagen Golf Wagon (Canada, 2010-)
Transmission
5-speed manual 04A
6-speed manual 02Q
6-speed automatic 09G
6-speed DSG 02E
7-speed DSG 0AM
my dad has it
In Mexico it was called Bora
Not black leather interior, the seats are slightly grey.
5.7.2023 8:39 PM Toronto, ON
does it have a place to stuck your aux cord
No sadly
Nice horn for a small car.
My dad was gonna buy one for my sis but it was junk. The whole engine was screwed, the dealer tried painting over the rust, they painted the buttons on the radio and when we turned it off it sounded like it was on. Ughh it was horrible. And he tried to give it for 9k with 215k km
@TheWarmplate I guess its not fair to say that is it. I say that because our neighbor's 98 or so vw carbriolet has never stopped having problems. She wants a Corolla now. But, my a/p Human Geo teacher hasnt had any problems with her 05 or so Jetta.
I'd go with something else if you wanted a more reliable car. These are wicked nice, but I haven't heard much good about them reliability-wise.
@pjtart 5 Cylinders are more common in European vehicles. Volvo, Audi, and Mercedes have used this design.
@popcornmagnet
Couldn't agree more.
Less miles too but what are you gonna do.
dont you mean hubcaps??
how much is this worth now?
Duke EArl 4500
@popcornmagnet lol thank god those rims are replaceable!! thats the first thing i'd do!!
Bora
2005??? wow that Jetta looks like new!!!!

Aye. Mine has automatic everything though, so it is avaliable.
Haha alot of people got first cars jettas, i got a 2006 TDI MKV Jetta. Best cars ever...
I have here Europe just same, but only 1.6 engine ❤
I want one so bad. What it lacks in fuel economy it makes up for in insurance prices.
@posteri007
The 2010 Jetta costs $18,000 in the US, so I guess they converted prices right. We pay just as much as Europeans.
