- From "Black Uhuru Alive", shot at the Ritz in New York City in 1986, and on location in Jamaica, a few months later. This one pierces the heart a little...with a very fit and healthy Puma Jones giving a marathon performance, on and off stage, along of course, with Duckie Simpson and Junior Reid.
BLACK UHURU ALIVE:
A historic concert held at the Ritz in New York City, on June, 11 1986. Great band that included Santa Davis on drums, Earl Chinna Smith on guitar, Chris Meredith on bass, Anthony (Asher) Brissett on keyboards and Sky Juice on percussion. Black Uhuru, in this incarnation, consisted of Duckie Simpson, Junior Reid and the incomparable Puma Jones (may she rest in peace).
Special thanks to the crew-cameramen: Jefferson Miller, Jabari and Bill Megalos, engineer Dan Epstein, camera assistants Stuart Sporn and Orville Bennett, sound engineer Steve Remote, lighting designer Edgar Gordon, and of course, visionary director, Stafford Ashani, may he rest in peace, my partner in Reggae Strong for many years.

is there a dvd for this concert? i am looking franticly. i love every song. Puma is outstanding. they all are. even if only on VHS or Blu-Ray. i know the footage exists. i watch these videos every morning. it has to be somewhere. No? please respond. i want this show complete all in one place. maybe these videos of the 1986 Live at the Ritz N.Y. show do not really exist.
No, we never put it out on a DVD. This is the only place you can see this footage. The reasons why are a bit complicated to explain here. Sorry. What I will do is make a consecutive playlist here o the channel for you.
