Hurth gearbox replacement HBW100 FOR ZF12M. Propshaft coupling removed and marine gearbox replaced

Replacement of Hurth HBW100 marine transmission. ZF12m replacement gearbox installed.
This video shows the processes involved in removing the propshaft coupling, old gearbox, raising the engine by 10mm, and installing a new gearbox in a Swanson 38 sailing yacht.

I have the same job ahead... amazing that you've shown me the way. What's satisfying (and I haven't even started yet) is that your work environment is just like mine. Not a clean workbench, but a cramped fairly dirty engine bay. Now to find a new ZF12m.

I'm looking at doing the same thing, is the gear ratio the same between the hbw 100 the the zf12?
Did you lift the engine 10mm because of lack of space in the engine bay or is there a 10mm difference between the input and output spindles on the new gearbox?
Any help is. Much appreciated
