Wow, actually the *best* video review about AGM thermals I've found so far!!! So much practical data, great comparison between different outdoor temperatures, and an incredible amount of technical details that prove how meticulous you were! Especially the helmet-mounted discussion was relevant for me which was omitted by many other reviewers. The only thing I'm missing is a comparison to other AGM thermals like the TM10-256. Thank you for an outstanding review!
Haha. I purchased this unit before coming across your review. Great review and write up. Plan on pairing mine with a monopod so my wife or daughter have something to play with, while I handle a weapon for hunting or recon. Thank you very much and good job
Holy moly, I didn't even know about the Hotspot feature until you mentioned it here. Watching your video from the start for anything else I missed. Great comprehensive work. Keep it up. Love to see more firearm reviews from you as well.
How has it held up? Can you see at close range with it, like looking for energy loss spots in the house, water leaks, or overheating breakers or wires?
thanks for the video, very knowledgeable. If you have links for the helmet and rifle mount it would be much appreciated, I have a .22 rifle also. thanks again.
Thanks for the feedback Matt. Tina used a Rhino mount and J arm purchased through Mod Armory. It's the bayonet set-up, so here's the link to the J-arm from said company: www.modarmory.com/product/usgi-mil-spec-j-arm-swing-arm-adaptor/ Here is the link to the rail mount used: www.amazon.com/SiOnyx-Aluminum-Picatinny-Cameras-A011100/dp/B08NVR163L Hope that helps! - Simon
OoOo that sounds fun! I used what I had on hand: USGI mil-spec J arm swing arm adapter (to be exact lol) with the bayonet interface that I got from Mod Armory. Thanks for the feedback - Tina
I cant get mine to work helmet mounted upside down? any help is greatly appreciated ordered it and the helmet mount after watching this video the other day
I'll try to troubleshoot as best I can. First, if you mean that it's not turning on while its helmet-mounted upside down: I just tried mine to double-check for you. It doesn't matter the orientation, it will power on - there isn't a special setting for this. The screen displays the view as you see it with the correct orientation. All the icons will display upside down though. I did notice that there is a delay, thanks to the auto NUC that is happening at start-up, and it prevents any settings or changes being made for at least about 20 seconds. If yours isn't powering up while it's upside down, it must be defective. Have you tried powering it on and mounting it while it's still on? Does it power off by itself? What does it do? Sounds like it could be a battery/connectivity issue if it's only powering on or staying on while it's right side up. If you're using the phone app while it's helmet-mounted, the view through the Asp Micro will be the correct orientation but the phone app display will be upside down. I haven't found an orientation button to make the view right-side up. Only fix I found was to turn on my phone's orientation lock which allowed me to view the display right-side up, but the functions are the top of the screen and upside down. If you mean that you're having trouble getting the unit mounted to the helmet setup: I just used the J-arm (which is attached to the Rhino mount to the helmet) to thread right into the tripod receiver on the underside of the Asp Micro. It's right next to the battery charging port. If this is the problem, check the thread pitch of the screw that came with the J-arm. It could be the wrong size? Should be 1/4-20. That's what I can think of could be possible issues. If I can help troubleshoot further, let me know. But the first problem of it not working at all because of its upside down orientation doesn't sound right. Let me know how it goes. I hope this helps. - Tina
@@targettamers Thanks, it only happened right after I upgraded the firmware, I gave it a reset and all is well now..makes me wonder if I got a bad file, love your videos, be safe

Vagabond - yes and no. You can forever charge it up as much as you want over its lifetime, but the li-ion battery won't last forever. It will degrade over time. How long until that happens? I think they're supposed to last for something like 300-500 cycles, but that's not really a helpful, measurable estimation IMO and AGM doesn't state longevity claims about the internal battery. I hope that sort of helped to answer your question? (And just in case you meant is it 'external' rechargeable - Yes, it is compatible with external power banks.) - Tina
I have downloaded Both the New AGM APP AND THE T VISION APP. How come they still won't connect to the damn monocar. They are Both have HOTSPOT * ON * but won't connect to each other on Either app just keeps saying. Can not find device
I'm sorry to hear that you're having connectivity issues. The only thing I can think of is if you've disconnected from the current WiFi network you're using or if you've actually joined the Asp Micro's hot spot? In your WIFI settings, you should be able to see and choose the AGM monocular hot spot and connect to it. It should be something like WLAN - xxx (your unique serial number). It doesn't connect automatically because you have to enter the password which is the serial number of the model you have. Once you've done that, you should be able to connect to either app. I hope that sorts out your connectivity problems! -Tina
@@targettamers yes I'm on that It doesn't work on my phone either I really hoped this unit could MIRROR IMAGE. Woth just an hdmi cord. To be able.to use the unit with a FIELD MONITOR .but plug and play doesn't seem to work And I can't get my tablet or phone to play the AGM 160
Here is the section on waterproofing of the Asp-Micro 3:42. As for other AGM optics, you would need to check the specific waterproof or weatherproof rating for each product you were interested in.
We have the unit on a ** YT 260 REMOTE CONTROL ROOF MOUNT I can screw this unit directly into my 360 remote control camera mount. And I glued a magnet to the bottom. Now I pop the entire unit on my roof. And we can move the moncoukar left and right and up and down just from inside the car We are trying to get the unit to go to our tablet and field monitors. That part is still not working

You cannot see heat/person behind a wall. You might see heat from inside the walls I suppose but the AGM Asp can't see through walls. -Tina
