You should do a live performance of your beautiful song death of a quiet man. Get some violin and cello players, and do your creative stuff with the guitar
I thought I was the only one who drinks coffee and screws around with pedals like this. I wake up every morning and do exactly what you did in this video hahaha Incredible job Mr. Othling!
Had a beast headache when I clicked on this, chucked the headphones in and listened straight through and after the shock ending realized my headache was gone, thought that was worth sharing :)
makes my day to see these videos honestly, i feel like i can just get lost in a world.. I feel like an adventurer walking down a dark lonely cave only to discover at the end an new world one of calm and peace one untouched by the western world but like a time capsule in time (Almost feel like at 16:00 its the calm within his breath that the music is mimicking.
I very much appreciate that... honestly it was quite the exercise in patience to sit and really pay attention to what the loop was doing for that long. But I'm really glad I did it
Quite nice and peaceful... Somehow it recalled me of a vintage FS where I could set a glider turning and looping up and down, never performing exact repeats but evolving in a perfect, automatic balance all the time... :-)
I'm sitting here watching every second of this video sipping my coffee and I just can't describe the level of introspective euphoria I'm feeling right now. This might be my favorite video you've ever posted, Andy. It takes a lot of maturity to create a piece like this and then sit back for almost 20 minutes and just let it sink in. Also, your writing has tremendously improved. Would you mind sharing exactly which pedals you were using for which parts and how did you get the loop to slowly deteriorate like that?
Wow this is so beautiful! I think this might be my favorite one that you've done! Thank you for actually writing this music I listened to the whole thing!
These sounds are SUPERB! I'd love to hear your commentary on this piece, especially what effects you are using and how the experience of sitting with the loop influenced you....It's almost as if you are changing the sound with your mind...quite powerful. I'm seeing a new Ambient Guitar Tip coming up....become one with your loop....
That & the coffee seem like an effective way to slowly wake up. Once it's at around 20 minutes it's so eerie you wouldn't want to go to bed anymore either way :)
I do the exact same thing except my loops sound 1/72 as good as your's do hahaha. this is brilliant, I really hope these sketches become purchasable MP3's.
This is beautiful ambient listening. Much in the same realm of what Brian Eno did in the late 70's and 80's with the his generative works. I'd love to know how you are doing this. Is it completely pedal driven or both pedal and DAW?. Thanks again for sharing your work.
I see a few have asked but I have to ask for myself, how is the El Cap making changes to the loop if it's before the TL? Do you have it wired to the effects loop? That's the only thing I can figure haha. Anyways, excellent work man!
Have always loved your work Andy. I too am an ambient musician, residing in St. Louis, MO at the moment. May I ask how you're getting the slowly deteriorating/slowing down effect on your loop here? Or am I just hearing it as if it's slowly slowing down and "disintegrating", which is/would be an awesome idea/effect in action.
What looper were you using and how was it deteriorating like that and with the two loops getting further and further out of sync? Reminds me of my Echoplex played for too long but that's waaaaay too short of a loop.
The way it cuts abruptly at the end after listening and staying focused for almost 20 minutes is the closest I ever gotten to experience death.
Here I am, staring at the ever-growing waveform in your Logic session.
It amazes me with something so minimalistic, yet can sound so complex and keep my attention for almost twenty minutes. Great Work!
This one gets really good around 13:06
Bliss!

sitting down in my office during a rainy afternoon, and listening to this is just such a bliss...
I thought I was the only one who drinks coffee and screws around with pedals like this. I wake up every morning and do exactly what you did in this video hahaha
Incredible job Mr. Othling!
I can't believe about how this will be the best thing I'll see today. It makes me wonder about just about everything.
Had a beast headache when I clicked on this, chucked the headphones in and listened straight through and after the shock ending realized my headache was gone, thought that was worth sharing :)
thank you for your music Andy. I use it for my quiet time meditation/prayer/devotion. God bless you brother! :)

Stacked long reverb delay the notes eventually collide as it becomes more spacy, haunting echoes. Real good Andy.
So Peaceful,... takes me to my happy place
It's 6pm here and I just brewed a cup of coffee because of this video. Thanks for that inspiration
That room is a whole other Universe in a different galaxy.
Such an AWESOME SOUND! Brilliant work Andy! :)
Thought provoking piece of film... I found this extremely emotionally powerful and actually very difficult to watch and stay with ...
I very much appreciate that... honestly it was quite the exercise in patience to sit and really pay attention to what the loop was doing for that long. But I'm really glad I did it
Andy Othling It takes gusts to stop, sit, and actually listen. I was really surprised to hear how it changed toward the the end. Thanks.
This is beyond incredible.
That's cool how the sounds transform from ethereal to haunting/eerie.
Fantastic ! This is just.. Fantastic ! My mind is flying away..
Andy!!! wowww this is amazing sound.. you can make more...!!! this is ONLY .I really admire your work.
This sounds lovely Andy. Drifted off while it was going
I love the abrupt ending. Freaking sweet.

The waveform in the back was one of my favorite things to watch
Hey Andy, this sounds darn sweet. Keep going!
Wow this is so beautiful! I think this might be my favorite one that you've done! Thank you for actually writing this music I listened to the whole thing!
Slammed the like button so hard. This is beautiful, man.
You should definitely make a sketch using the bit commander! I would love to hear it!
Lovely! What was your effect chain for this please?
reminds me a bibio performs the disintegration loop by william basinski.
unfortunately, he removed this video from youtube (
Oh yeah, that was a good one!
This is beyond excellent. Lost myself in it.

Saw someone mention being reminded of The Disintegration Loops... Have to agree. And that's really saying something. Really fantastic workZ
Amazing! Love your stuff. I tell everyone I can about it you da Bomb Andy 👊
This reminds me of the paranormal activity films... Nicely done!
Had my eyes closed listening to this. My heart jumped and I had a mini panic attack at the abrupt ending. I may have just died
Hey love it, so relaxing to listening to. Can you tell me how you get that sound, tge rumbking, thunder ish sound?
Beautiful performance ;) beautiful
If i was a sci-fi film director, you would be the first musician on the list
Sick as always, any plans for a new album??
That & the coffee seem like an effective way to slowly wake up. Once it's at around 20 minutes it's so eerie you wouldn't want to go to bed anymore either way :)
I actually wish this video was longer
This was quite fantastic, any chance you could make it downloadable? I want to deteriorate all the time!
sounds so goood love it !
Andy Amazing sound! why do not you stas using the Strymon BigSky? unlike the Space which is better?
Reminds me of Bissonett's Disentegration Loops ... is that a reference point for this piece?
Andy this is good as fuck
Thank you kindly Jon
Reminds me of early verve storm in heaven sound ... Think nick McCabe would dig it too ..food for the soul nice work
This is the sound of consciousness.
Lovely.
Likes this one...it's great Andy ;)
I do the exact same thing except my loops sound 1/72 as good as your's do hahaha.
this is brilliant, I really hope these sketches become purchasable MP3's.
Good effects :) This song is really nice !
i really like your Job, these songs help me to relax and sleep, thankyou. more one subscriber
you rule, andy

Lovely :)
Speaking of deteriorating, have you ever heard of Stars of the Lid?
Yes, absolutely love them, The Dead Texan, and especially A Winged Victory for the Sullen
Cool! I figured that you did. lol
I love this. What is causing the more dissonant noises at the end that slowly fade in?
Really enjoyed this Andy. Also nice beard.
Thanks for this dudde.
Gorgeous as usual with the sketches. How do you power your board, Andy?
what effects do you use for your videos like this one? Has a nice vintage look to it
I see a few have asked but I have to ask for myself, how is the El Cap making changes to the loop if it's before the TL? Do you have it wired to the effects loop? That's the only thing I can figure haha. Anyways, excellent work man!
Looping is done on the El Capistan.
+Andy Othling Mind blown. Thanks for the reply dude! Keep em coming
wells of done!

very cool!
great vibe :)
I don't know why but it reminds me of the ocean.
This is definitely really good. Quick question: when you rebuild your pedalboard do you use the planet waves cable kit or something else? Thanks man
How exactly did you get this to loop like that? a looper running into another looper that's constantly recording?
What looper were you using and how was it deteriorating like that and with the two loops getting further and further out of sync? Reminds me of my Echoplex played for too long but that's waaaaay too short of a loop.
I like it.
Tambien Lanois o The Edge..
What's on your rack?
Totally deteriorated with you
Pero me gustan esos ambientes.
What is it that's causing the loop to change like that?
Jordan Combs seconding this question, I would really like to know how to do stuff like this!
Muito bom.
Where's sketch #39?
Ahahaha I knew I should have checked the actual uploads versus the filenames on my computer!! I knew this would happen someday.
I hate it when that happens.
19min "sketch"? you sure must have gotten them feels man!
I was deteriorating.
Eno Fripp Belew o Torn estuvieron antes.
Can't stop watching this x.x ahahahahahahahhahahaah
Cool
Time for you to write music for films =)
Wow.
I really liked it. It made me think of The Disintegration Loops
Watch this page
Lovely minimalistic ambient music (only a pitty that nearly every video starts with a commercial message :-( )
Thanks! And it it makes you feel better, know that the ads help put food on the table for me and my family.
O.k. I understand.
wow
i love this. however on the comical side i cant believe you sat there for 20 minutes.
Rather an abrupt ending!
Indeed. The video ran out.
Plot twist!
