    Great video as always Chris 🙏🏽👌🏽 is there a chance that you can put one on mine ? I currently have KW V3 and I’m in Downey btw 😅

      Hi! Sorry I don’t have the capacity to offer installs at this time but maybe in the future.

    Great video Chris!
    Do you have issues with the cup turning/rotating while driving and putting tension on the line?
    I’ve seen air bag guys having that problem.

      That was one of my concerns, but so far so good with no rotating of the cup. For mcpherson strut suspension setups, i think it could be an issue since the entire shock assembly rotates when you turn the wheels, but with a double wishbone setup like the NSX, the shock does not rotate on turning your steering wheel so the cups should always be under the weight of the vehicle and should have a very difficult time turning. But it's something i'm keeping an eye on and will update if anything happens.

    Thanks for the excellent video, that made the install on my NSX significantly easier.
    A couple of extra tips for people attempting this:
    - if this was mentioned in the video I missed it, but for KW V3 suspension on an NSX specifically, when ordering the air cups the shaft diameter front and rear is 22mm
    - if adding air cups to the rear as well you do not need to replace the rear springs, you've got plenty of adjustment to play with
    - I bought a kit with a 2gal tank and installed it at the front, be careful as it's very tight so make some measurements first. I had to space the tank up by 50mm and it was tight with a 2002 ABS unit. With an older ABS system you might really struggle so take care with the tank dimensions
    - it may sound obvious, but remember you can just run the one airline to the rear of the car and then T it at the back, you don't need to T it right near the compressor or tank
    - for a 100% OEM look install I've wired up the lift switch to one of the buttons behind the shifter (no longer used fog light button, in my case), and then have the on/off switch and purge button in the centre console box.
    I haven't done any testing myself but I'm curious as to the current draw on the valves and how long the car can sit raised until they drain the battery.

    Hi Chris this is Bruce. I’m about to install my cup kit but need your help for the KW shorter springs parts number. Thank you in advance for your help 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

      Hi Bruce. I don't know the p/n off hand, but i believe it's written on the side of the springs and you can see it in my video. Along with shorter springs, i went up in spring rate a bit.

    my kit arrived the other day and after watching this (6th time now) over and over this whole job feels very very hard. Especially all the wiring stuff. I have a M4 and I'm wondering what I should do

    • @ChrisLumNSX
      @ChrisLumNSX  ปีที่แล้ว

      it can be somewhat easy if you set it up the way their instructions tell you to. But it can be more complicated when you start modifying it like I did by adding extra functions like a purge valve and on/off function. I would suggest you have a professional shop do it if you are uncomfortable with the wiring.

    Thanks Chris. This video was very well put together and helpful. The install is not easy for anyone attempting it, but it is doable and time consuming. FYI - Mounting the Tank, compressor, purge valve, wiring, and building a clean wiring harness took forever and I'm still doing it - so plan accordingly and don't rush it. Also I ended up not wiring the air valves to ground as your diagram shows because the button light would stay on for me (I kept the one included in the stancepart kit) instead I wired them as the manual states to white and blue and now the light only turns on when activated. Even wired that way my button still works when the car is off 🤷🏻‍♂ Also for anyone trying to purchase air cups they send you 120mm sized cups unless you request 110mm ones which as of writing this are the only two available and gives you an extra 5mm of clearance on both sides

      Glad you found the video helpful. Yes, since there's so much variability in the components and wiring of the cup kits, there are so many ways to install it. Wiring along has a dozen different ways. Glad you were able to figure out something that works for you!

    How is the ride quality compared to the straight coilover? Thanks for the effort of putting this all together and getting video of every step!

    • @ChrisLumNSX
      @ChrisLumNSX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Technically speaking, ride quality should not be affected since you're not supposed to drive on it aired up for extended periods. So with it aired down, it's just a 30mm spacer. Having that said, the 30mm is sacrificing damper stroke. And what that means in the real world, for those of us running KW V3 (99% of whom run the car too low), is that we sacrifice A LOT of the usable stroke. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm quite often riding on bump stops. I will probably cut down my bump stops even more in the future. But I'd like to do some testing to confirm my theories since I don't see a lot of people mention it too much. But it's kind of obvious to me that there's not much stroke when I find the bump stop pushed to the top every time I work on the suspension. Having that said, I've also increased spring rate. So that's all a long way of saying, the ride is harsher, but I'm not sure if it's the increased spring rate or the 30mm loss in damper stroke. I believe it to be the latter. I'll probably make another video cutting down the bump stops and ultimately testing out how often I hit bump stops.

    Do you think the tank + compressor would fit along the side (so rotated compared to yours) along with a hood scoop ? I got that DF hood scoop that takes up a lot of space in there but there's space on the sides, and below... Or would it clear below the radiator fan (then the scoop itself) ?

    • @ChrisLumNSX
      @ChrisLumNSX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The tank and compressor will not fit in the front any other way.

    • @ChrisLumNSX
      @ChrisLumNSX  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want the exact same setup as me, yes. There are a lot of variables though, like which tank you have and how you want your interior switch run and where.

      @@ChrisLumNSX oh ok , the bc didn’t come with any, did the stock shocks come with any I can use?

    • @ChrisLumNSX
      @ChrisLumNSX  ปีที่แล้ว

      Stock has some but it needs to the the same diameter as the shock rod so you might need to buy aftermarket or just contact a BC dealer.
