    This is basically the perfect motovlog. Good audio, amazing road and scenery, fast/smooth riding (how it should be done, rather than all the jackassery you see sometimes), etc. This road looks familiar, is it the tail of the dragon? I need to ride there sometime. Thank you for sharing.

    Hey Cuban - great ride! I gave a 2022 superduke R, with the full akra system and it is a riot. I am thinking of the Michelin power cup gp or power cup 2 for the summer and the road 6 for the colder winter conditions in the UK - what do you think? I got the soft luggage with the bike and the slim line tank bag. It makes a great sports tourer. You can ride to the track with your tent and camping stuff, do your trackday and then carry on touring. I love it. No fairing helps me not to be a dick on our motorways; even my current twin cylinder track bike (rsv1000rr), will see me cruising at over 100 and I need my license intact! Keep up the good work.

    • @CubanRider
      @CubanRider  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      James that's a great combo. The Michelin pricing used to be very competitive, the Cup 2 were the cheapest of the super sticky tires, but they've all gone up. I found myself switching to Continental to save some money on tires, but if price is similar, the Cup 2 or even Cup GP are great. Of course their Road series is the best you can have in wet and colder conditions, so that's an easy choice.

    U realy make good use of the traction control. Was it damp, tyres, ?? or just to much power.

    • @CubanRider
      @CubanRider  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Road was dry, I just lean on the TC a lot, leaving dark streaks of rubber down the road. Realistically the bike is too heavy for this type of riding; the way it delivers its power, it's more suited for longer turns, there it works beautifully. The KTM works better due to how the torque comes on so early, it pulls the bike off the corner beautifully.

    • @CubanRider
      @CubanRider  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The S22 is great, one of the best street tires. The RS11 gives you that extra dry grip and confidence at the expense of durability, both phenomenal tires that I'm happy to recommend to spirited riders.

    • @CurtisBrandt
      @CurtisBrandt ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t ridden the RS11, but I’ll second the author’s comment on the S22. They’re OEM on my SDR EVO and they’re excellent. I often change tires way before they’re worn, if I don’t like them. I’ll use these S22 til they’re done. And that’s on a very torquey bike. Plenty, plenty good. I’m impressed.

    I've personally ridden with the guy in front. If you guys really think his bp makes him slow. Or his prevé looks slow. Hit him up and go on one of his rides follow him. Like all the others you'll end up in a ditch or off the side of a mountain or just get left so far behind you'll go home. Remember videos don't do real riders justice. Cinematic videos and movies have the perfect angles to make it look fast. This guy and you might think I'm slow too but like i said ride with him and you'll see some amazing things IF you don't get hurt and you can keep up.

    • @CubanRider
      @CubanRider  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Something I've learned is that looking fast ≠ going fast. The KTM rider can ride, knee down or not. He's not even a local and his lines are great. I've seen many riders with bp like a racer, but when I follow them the pace is not there. There are others that don't even bother to stick their knee out, but have a blistering pace, such is the case of the local old timer who was following us on a Streetfighter (he didn't want to be on video). Most of these really fast guys are locals, have this mountain dialed in, so I really discourage people that are visiting to try to keep up with those guys.

      @@Supernova12034 So it would basically come down to wind protection. I've owned two SDRs, and currently ride an EVO. They're very comfortable except for sustained speeds over about 80 mph. I am all-day-comfortable (1100 miles is my biggest day) on my 1290 SAS. I would guess the SDGT isn't quite that sit-up comfortable, but beating off the head wind is a major player in energy conservation, and there's no beating the additional power of the SDR/GT. All interesting considerations.

    • @CubanRider
      @CubanRider  ปีที่แล้ว +29

      If he gets proper body position, people will critique him for hanging the head over the yellow line. This is actually good body position for this road, you're shifting weight to the inside while keeping your head up for better visibility.
