I'm looking at this reboot of look and toys like the time when there was a transition from ERTL Thomas toys to Learning Curve Take Alongs. At the time it was a HUGE shock how Thomas could be so radically changed to almost look nothing like the previous toys. But as history now tells that change was a revolution. The Take along / Take N Play / Thomas Adventures style toys lasted a very long time on the toy industry scale of time. I think I can see what's going on as Mattel are trying to key into a My Little Pony ideal & style to reinvigorate a very tired looking brand. It's a massive gamble that may work. If it fails it's the end ot the Thomas franchise for good. Normally I would do a video about this but i'm so over being smacked down by the TH-cam systems & haters i'm pretty certain there's a connection there. As always in the end the haters win, they get the prize.
Gotta' be wholesale; even at their most accurate, they still look like generic toys, like the many, many knockoffs of Thomas over the years. Zany Trains might seem cheap to some, but they at least have gimmick that actually kind of makes them stand out [garbage pail trains isn't really something anyone has really done before]
Even though that I despise all engines go because of the wacky hijinks, the wheels as hands, and even one of those cartoony, bendy silly stupidity bending physics, I personally think that the push along versions are very accurate how they were in the show at least I prefer their Push Along counterparts over the motorized versions because the problem that I had with them is that they're way too big.

to be honest, i kinda agree on what you said on your thoughts on the AEG, to be honest i find not that bad even though it wasn't good, but it was still ok for now at a 60%. then again it's just my view about it but i still agree with it.

You showed the picture of the Camelback and that was it. How crazy. Also that huge poster in the back left, with the different locomotives on it, I also have it. Maybe Ill hang it up because of you. I've watched all engines go and In it's own right it's a kids show but nothing I'd ever show my future kids. Any reboot in this day in age sucks no matter what it is. The RWS and the TV series will always be the superior versions of Thomas and friends.

I am one of the few who actually enjoys AEG. Don't get me wrong, the model are will ALWAYS be my favourite and CGI was great, but every Thomas era has had at least "something" we like about them and AEG is no different. People can love it and people can REALLY hate it, I am in the middle, I really enjoy the show but I can see why everyone hates it. Give credit where it's due, these toys really pull off the accuracy of the characters in the show, Mattel can really hit the mark when they can be bothered, I might get myself a Percy for how good they are, my enjoyment for the show and for being a massive Percy kissarse since he's just too freaking adorable

I've seen these at Target recently and it's one of those toys I'm avoiding. They look accurate to the AEG show, that's all I can say. I prefer just getting the 2022 Wooden Railway range that came out this year.
As the take and play Thomas and friends line never had side rods, I'm still disappointed in Mattel, but I was at target and still saw Nia,Rebecca, lion James, panda Percy and Monkey Thomas
AEG is just part of the Thomasverse, I like to think that Thomas pulled a SpiderMan into the spider verse and has multiple universes...There's models,CGI,hybrid cgi,2d animation,etc and all of them r just connected to one giant multiverse

Where's the improvement? The writing is rehashed plots, unfunny humor, repetition, bigger flanderization, and it's just PAW Patrol wannabe and another ripoff of Chuggington under the brand's name.

Honestly, although I personally dislike All Engines Go, the worst I can say is that it’s stupid but easy to ignore.
The most cutest thing they add to Thomas and Percy are their eyes color... which matches with their coat of paint

My biggest problem with the AEG toys are the lazy 2D printed faces, when most of the previous toys had unique 3D faces.
