You are not alone in having a small space. It is actually nice to see you can do things in a small area. I suspect you are a very organized person because things look so orderly in the videos and you get so much accomplished. I sew in a small bedroom with a full sized bed, so seeing you can function within the space you have is inspirational. Thank you!
Thank you for using a reusable cup! Every small step to help our planet is worth it!
As a newbie to Pat Sloan TH-cam, I joined the Breakfast Club SAL. Loved it! Now I'm learning home machine quilting. Thanks for showing ideas on how to quilt the project. Instructor of a class I'm attending has suggested I bring the project for the class to all learn from it! I'm spreading the word about Pat Sloan! I start each day with a cup of coffee and PS video!
I tell people about Pat Sloan, too. Love her videos.
Pat you had me laughing today when you referred to yourself as a Hot Mess!
I love to hear your laugh! So glad your notebooks are the dots. Makes it so versatile for me. Thank you for faithfully putting these motivations every day. I know it’s a lot of work but please also know we are so appreciative. ❤
Pat your heart & stars block turned beautiful. 👍❤️🙂
Count me in for the Periodic Table! My husband and son are Chemical Engineers and know these elements back and forth, so it would be a fun thing to make. I am familiar with the table as I have a science background also, so I could enjoy the quilt aspects while they follow the names/numbers. It's on my list!
I read the book “Lessons in Chemistry” and then Apple TV made it a series. Recommend reading the book first but great!
I love your Babylock! I think it’s so much better than the others. My DIL has one which is so fast with Oh My Stars! Love your humor! I’ve been working in my shed. It’s a work in progress. I will get to sewing soon. Love you Miss Pat. Thank you!🙏
I received my fabric to do the heart and stars quilt … now I’m going to rewatch the triangle paper video so I can make the stars… thank you for showing me how to do it!❤
Corey Yoder recently made a quilt with tea towels. It’s really cute.
Oh, I like the idea of just making the center for the front door - thanks for the great idea.
The charcoal grey looks great on you, Pat!
Pat, I enjoy your video snippets. After all, as you say, life happens:)
Love the heart of American! Thanks for sharing your quilting knoeledge with us. I have learned so much!
What a great video for me today, thank you, Pat. I love the heart and stars alone, would make a terrific pillow too!
I thought the same when I saw it finished.
That;s what I was thinking too!
Didn’t tackle it today! It was a gardening day! Hubby bought me some new plants! Can’t say no to that!
Great point on the flipping of the block, it makes more sense. Thank you!
I love your notebooks and the One Day Quilt book is fantastic. I need to buy it. LOVE The Heart Of America quilt is so pretty. The idea of using the center for door hanging or maybe small wall quit is genius! Love your videos!!!
I could just see it on my door, need to do it!!
I so enjoy my morning coffee with you all ❤
Hello Junes, nice to meet you. Sorry hope I’m not intruding, you have a wonderful profile I just wanted to say hello. Hope you are having a good day?
I love the periodic table of quilt blocks! As a chemistry geek, it’s an inventive and attractive layout. I may have to get one for my sewing room! Thanks for sharing it with us. 🤗
I was looking in the comments to see if someone could explain it to us quilters that aren't science people 😊 How does it corolate (?) to quilting? Tyfs in advance ❤
@@jayneterry8701 TBH, I think it’s just an advertising gimmick to help sell those box cards kits.
Your Heart of America center is beautiful. Love your colorway, and your star points are spot on! You mentioned your block would be good to hang on the door--it would make a really pretty pillow too.
Thanks for the freemotion demo. After about 4 days (yep, seriously), I finally finished making a runner for the dresser and chest in the guest bedroom. I just need to figure out my vision and get started!
I just wanted to say I love by Annie books, best bang for your buck
Thank you for showing your quilting. That helps me on other projects. I have been doing several tips but have not quilted any of them. Love your videos.
I use that type of notebook for my journals every year. I think I will have to have yours!
I love your book nooks. Books are definitely a weakness of mine.
Hi, I made a Periodic Table quilt from a kit that had a panel! My husband has a Ph.D. in chemical engineering...he loved it! I don't think I could do the one with the quilt blocks!
I think the striped heart you showed us in the book just a few minutes ago would be really pretty in the center of your Star Quilt. It makes me want to get the pattern and start on it right now.😅❤
I keep seeing your canning jar quilt behind you. I just love it. Don't have a lot of wall space in my kitchen but have a higher ceiling. So, thinking I have room for a smaller, two row version above my cabinets.
Thanks for showing free motion quilting ideas. Awesome job, Pat!
You are so welcome!
That book looks great. I am supposed to be in a no buy 2024 (specifically started for fabric, but boy is this tempting! If I cave, I’ll use your link and get it at Fat Quarter Shop!
That owl tote is adorable. I do wish it weren’t plastic.
Hello Lin, nice to meet you. Sorry hope I’m not intruding, you have a wonderful profile I just wanted to say hello. Hope you are having a good day?
Periodic is all me. Taught chem, bio, environmental, forensic, and earth sciences. I found a fabric store opened up by a retired science professor (in St George, Utah) who got a lot of science and math fabrics. I have most of them. I got the solar eclipse tea towel. Now to make a quilt (or two).
Oh, my goodness! I spent two days fussing with Friendship stars. I don't know why they gave me so much trouble! The triangles were accurate, but getting them together in the star shap gave me so much trouble. I watched countless videos where people said.... watch out for your points! (sigh) Then, you say, don't sew them blind, and I thought - I did that every time! I can't thank you enough for saying that in this video. Fingers crossed tomorrow goes better. Originally I planned 15 of those stars in a 30 block border. I've reduced that to four....... :) As a hand piecer, this is taking me forever!
So happy you figured it out!
Love the quilting ideas you showed on the breakfast club quilt ! Makes me smile 😊
Thank you for sharing your books today.
Hi Pat, thanks for sharing
Well shucks, I was thinking u were going to say the periodic table is going to be a panel. I think u need to pass this on to the powers that be, to get it turned into a fabric panel. See my post about my kid periodic table quilt. Cheers
You can buy iron transfer pens to trace any design then iron it on the fabric to embroider. You can use your embroidery machine to make labels.
I love the Annie's books. There are a number of them at a great price point.
The iron on labels book is cute and there’s so many other cute designs out there that can be traced onto fabric to be reused;) Some of the designs want to be used more than a couple of times;)
Oh my. I had to order the Quilt Blocks periodic table😂
Read Lessons in Chemistry , great book and now series on Apple TV
My bestie is a FAcs teacher, those posters would be fun in her classroom.
I need to get those stars done on my heart of America quilt😱😂
As a chemistry nerd, I love the periodic table. I might have to buy that.
Yes you made me want that book!
that bag would be awesome for our What's In Our Closet blocks.
❤ the book nook!
Thanks Pat!
Your Heart of Amercia quilt is looking SO good! Pat, do you think a 12x16 foot space will be too tight/small for sewing space? See you online again tomorrow!
that is a very generous space. Most people work in a LOT less than that
I doo love the grid blank books
You gave me the confidence to try some FMQ 😊😊
I received my hst rolls the other day. Gonna give those stars a try! I plan on doing just the center with a border for my door. Also, on my breakfast club I did 60 degree lines about 2-3" apart in two directions. Will that be good?
Hello Patsy, nice to meet you. Sorry hope I’m not intruding, you have a wonderful profile I just wanted to say hello. Hope you are having a good day?
Pat did you make the little red check bins on your shelf?I would love to make them and wonder if you have a tutorial.
I bought them years ago at the container store
Going with applique. Have failed miserably at those stars
Pat the periodic table embroidery stitches does not come up at Fat Quarter Shop? Is that one at C & T publishing? Im interested in both but I would like to look at the embroidery one. Thank you
it sold out at FQS, get from C&T with my link at shrsl.com/4i56a
When doing the quilting how do or do you hid cut threads? Thx
I do a locking stitch, then trim threads flat. If you use your machines ' cut thread' button it pulls them to the back
Just watched today’s video and so happy to see how you are quilting the Breakfast Club. I too have the question of what to do with all the threads when you start and stop. Can you demo what you are doing to hide the threads and preventing from the quilting from coming unsown?
i was going to start the stars when you did, but i bought the wrong blue fabric for the center... so my question to you is did the papers help you go faster or do you have any suggestions to make it go faster? thanks
small stars take time. You trade off speed for accuracy 100% of the time. I don't think you can 'speed through' small units
I don’t like that kind of bag either. Everything sticks to them when you try to take something out of that bag or put it back in. Yes ban it.
