A very great, very weird soprano. A wonderful Donna Anna AND Salome. She's a throwback to Lilli Lehman in her range and repertoire.

Not sure what you mean: "weird" ..... Gorgeous Voice and inspiration for Price to become an Opera Singer ..... Lister to her Aida .... You will hear similarities to Price ...

@@garfieldmoore3789 I know her Aida recording well. Nothing to do with Price. They were each unique.

@@Sutherland2 I agree ..... They were each unique ..... However ..... I was immediately struck by the resemblance of shapes of phrases in the 1st act trio; the "wail" for deggio'rmarlo (ascent to high C over an a minor chord) .... and in particular: The ascent to the climax (another high C) in "O Patria Mia" ...... Remember: the YOUNG PRICE (as a Juilliard student) stood a number of times to hear her sing ....... She was particularly struck by Wellitsch' Salome (Price insisted that it was one of these Salomes which "drove"her to opera)....... Additionally, I definitely hear similarities in the Aida, which Price must probably heard ....... Interesting conversation ...... I would bet all my performances in Carnegie Hall that there was a connection ..... Great Talking .....
