Sorry to hear about that, I've always been a Sabbath fan and never heard of this kind of tragedy regarding them. Ozzy had a tragedy with suicide solution, like your own tragedy this young man was depressed and took his own life while listening to the Ozzy song over and over and..loop back. I always felt that Black Sabbath was scary music about the battle between God and man, scaring the hell out of people seems like the right thing to do, if the hell is scared right out of you than it follows that the hell is no longer inside you
@@ANationalAcrobat Perfect Strangers was a good Deep Purple album especially given this lineup's 11 year hiatus. I wished he had stayed on with Sabbath or come back after the PS album. Hell, Iommi and Butler should have had kept their sh-t together and not driven Dio away in '82. Changing gears, thanks for a ton of Sabbath and Uriah Heep lyrics songs that are HARD to find!! Great stuff!
83 was a fantastic year for music , piece of mind , show no mercy , kill'em all , and born again are some of my favorite albums . Motorhead another beautiful day , holy diver , shout at the devil , metal health , 1984 , bark at the moon , and I'm sure I left many more off . Then we had lots of new wave & punk that was far better than most music put out these days . Good times to be kid witnessing it . I saw ozzy & van halen for those tours but really regret not making it to born again . I was in the 6th grade & just started going to concerts . Born again is a phenomenal album that resonates feelings like no other .
Ian Gillan, Ronnie Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, and even Rob Halford... And of course Tonny the fucking Iron Man Iommi... Black Sabbath is a fucking cultural heritage of humanity.
Yeah, just like that 😀 If you want to be king for a day just do what he says. Then there’s that ”grey and plastic retards”, Gillan has stated ”is probably a dig at some of the less inspired members of our profession, (that would be on the business side of things)”. I like that.
My personal top 10 favourite Sabbath's songs, just because I want to share xD: Black Sabbath - The Wizard Black Sabbath - Into the Void Black Sabbath - Iron Man Heaven and Hell - Children of the Sea Black Purple - Born Again Heaven and Hell - Die Young Black Sabbath - Warning Black Sabbath - Electric Funeral Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath Black Sabbath - Snowblind
Only 10 songs is really tough... My take (in chronological order): Black Sabbath Warning Hand of Doom Lord of This World Into the Void Snowblind Under the Sun A National Acrobat The Writ Falling Off the Edge of the World
@@ANationalAcrobat Yeah, 10 songs when a band have more than 20 albuns is really hard. The songs you chose and aren't im my top 10 are very high on my favourites.

I think this record cover art is one of the most cleverly funny album covers ever! People that don't like it are the ones who are bothered by it. And if it bothers you, then GOOD! lol It's doing exactly what it's designed to do which is to get under your skin!
THE Ultimate Top Ten Black Sabbath Songs in best to almost as good order, (Unofficially, possibly, maybe uhm perhaps to one other person besides me in the universe): 1. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (A true experience each time I have listened for over 30 years. So beautifully ominous particularly at the end. The best heavy metal song of ALL TIME!) 2. Iron Man (Frightfully menacing for 1970 and still rocks today. Great groove. A true metal anthem for all time) 3. Hole in the Sky (Heavy as.. Sabbath! Cool bouncy rhythm at the same time) 4. Wheels of Confusion (Punishing guitar that sounds like a giant blade cutting steel slabs - I know what this sounds like from having lived across the road from such a factory!) 5. Disturbing the Priest (Underrated song from underrated Born Again album. Fantastic 1 - 2 punch before hitting the "Disturbing the Priest" chorus line. Gillan at his wickedest!) 6. Killing Yourself to Live (Ripping sound, Ozzy really starting to enter his prime. Weird message for its times - about transgenderism though not totally sure how its all defined here) 7. Sign of the Southern Cross (Got to get some Dio in here! Majestic piece of metal sung by one of the greatest of all time) 8. Hand of Doom (Love the light to heavy contrast and then eventually back to light again. Great dual bridge section. Social awareness Sabbath style!) 9. Sweet Leaf (More punishing power chords upside one's skull courtesy of the master and his Gibson SG Special) 10. Zero the Hero (Told you Born Again was an underrated album! Most awesome mind numbing rhythm with a video so bad it should have killed the industry. Too bad it didn't!) Honourable mention to the rest of the Sabbath catalogue not mentioned here, including the later years (except that Seventh Star crap Iommi put out in '86 with Glen Hughes on vocals that was supposed to be an Iommi solo album until the 'Bastard' Brothers record label intervened... I like Glen from his Trapeze and DP days but not with 'Sabbath'!) This was TOUGH but it's absolutely official now (as far as my own mind extends). I think I've spent over an hour on this one! (I have far too much time on my hands!)
@@decristo1021 Some really good music on that album. I wished he had stayed on with Sabbath for a few years before reforming Deep Purple. This album and the Gillan - Sabbath era would have rivalled Dio's short era with the band instead of being largely forgotten amongst their vast catalogue. Thankfully it happened for a year or so.
This is classy. That album art to me was somewhat unfortunate. But I still just bought a copy haha! I can't believe I don't have this yet. Probably that gnarly cover art. Anyway thank you sharing this!
The story goes that Gillan was asked to pick out his favourite album cover for the album out of a bunch of pics somebody had arranged to choose from. He didn't like any of them so to protest he picked the least appealing one of the bunch, never thinking it would be picked. I guess he must have figured that a new, more appealing batch would be brought in to pick from. Anyhow, Tony Iommi love the pick and pushed ahead for the album cover. Gillan truly despised the picture but he and everyone else got stuck with it. Not my favourite cover either but ultimately it worked!

My brother and cousin both lost their lives while listening to this song on their way to Laughlin Nevada to celebrate my brothers 21st birthday

One of my favorite '83 records with Ian Gillan. Excellent tour definitely🤘😈🤘!!!!
He is an excellent singer and storyteller. And it was an interesting, albeit short, period in Sabbath history.
