I remember my Dad coming in my room while jamming the Pantera version of this and really diggin it and I thought it was so cool that Black Sabbath wrote this and a band I loved had done a cover of it. My Dad had this record and hearing this played on his old stereo was so captivating. Moments shared like that through music are something special. Miss ya Dad, but the music you would play still plays on to this day and in those minutes and seconds the memories are so heavy. Thank you Black Sabbath for writing such an amazing song & Thank You Pantera for covering it and keeping the vibe. But most of all Thank You for allowing me and my Dad to share those moments together.
After reading your comment, I can only feel good about you and your experiences with your dad. In my humble opinion, what you say is what life is all about! Cheers to you and your dad! We share the same views! Thanks for sharing with us! Love to you, your dad, to Black Sabbath and everyone else! We keep traveling the Universe!
Got good memories of my old man too. Cool to share those as those of us who were blessed enough to have those experiences with our old man( aside from the rocky relationship)will always cherish the times when WE were on the same page, enjoying the music and actually enjoying each other's company. God Bless yha man..
Single most chill composition of words and instruments ever, anywhere by the single greatest band ever, anywhere. Those in denial may possibly not agree
First time I heard ( felt ) this song, I was 14. A close family friend gave me this stuff called LSD. You could imagine the rest of the story. I am 54 now, and I innerstand now more than EVER why he helped me unlock my mind!! RIP MIKE!!!
Holy shit... This takes me way back. I am 67 years old and a retired police detective with PTSD. I am exploring the use of edible cannabis. This piece would be perfect for that experience. Thanks !!
Yes , it most certainly is one of the most perfect songs to enjoy high. Try listening to Tool while using it and you’ll go to some amazing places. Wish you the best.
Sweet visual treatment for a timeless classic, creatively reflecting gentle lyrics. I love the ship you chose to animate. Thanks for making this & sharing the Planet Caravan :)
Im visiting our pal Lucy and this song comes up on my playlist...WOW....talk about suspension in energy. Time stands still. I feel this with my soul. Peace and love to everyone.
BS is not just heavy metal riff bashing head banging noise. It's also subtle, groovy, light and dark, psychedelic, progressive, ethereal, bright high and low dark movement of unspoken poetry and orchestration. There's so much in there, and Tony is so underrated. Same with Bill and Geezer, and even Ozzy, he did better singing and evocative delivery on one BS LP than all his solo stuff combined. It was a phenomenon of the time and the state of music.
We sail through endless skies Stars shine like eyes The black night sighs The moon in silver trees Falls down in tears Light of the night The Earth, a purple blaze Of sapphire haze In orbit always While down below the trees Bathed in cool breeze Silver starlight breaks down the night And so we pass on by the crimson eye Of great god Mars As we travel through the universe
When listening to the bass notes, especially near the last part of the song when the piano kicks in...i keep hearing hints of 'War Pigs"...the last part of war pigs where it sounds like farewell
Nothing quite like jamming in collusion with the universe and just letting your mind travel, aimlessly as you kick it, relaxed and comfortable where as you'll travel too without life's demands nor where you'll end up...
We played this song down next to the river late one night back in the eighties while tripping on mescaline. It was like we left our bodies and joined the stars. I could have died right then and been alright with that...
I liked this from the first moment i clapped ears on it. I used to catch friends out with it as an example of "You'll never guess who this is". So out of character compared to something like "War Pigs". I saw them do this at the Rainbow Theatre, Seven Sisters Road, it was brilliant..
I just had a weird thought. How many light years does a human travel through space on mother Earth as the sun orbits around the center of the galaxy and earth orbits around the sun?
What a great song ! What they did to Bill Ward is UNEXCUSABLE for a last go round it reminds me of Kiss with Ace & Peter always about money & ego !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funny story here. I sent a link of this video to a pot smoking friend of mine, THINKING that for SURE he would LOVE it. BUT, he had been kinda "spooked" by it, LOl! He is mostly into "blues" music, SO, I guess it was n;t HIS kind of music.
I love the calmness that this song evokes. Always puts me in a chill mood.
Ozzies most messed up calm ambient production

Tony’s touch and feel on this song is simply sublime.
Music can express what words cannot, this song represents the existence
Yes I agree with you in this. A calming truth of heart and spirit this melody absolutely and beautifully brings

Awesome job!!! Thanks for posting . my favorite Sabbath tune.
Just when one had sabbathed out in the mid 70s, this song come over the record needle, then it was time for some more black sabbath
We sail through endless skies
Stars shine like eyes
The black night sighs
The moon in silver trees
Falls down in tears
Light of the night
The Earth, a purple blaze
Of sapphire haze
In orbit always
While down below the trees
Bathed in cool breeze
Silver starlight breaks down the night
And so we pass on by the crimson eye
Of great god Mars
As we travel through the universe
Love the budgie.
Thank you for lyrics. Just love this song 💜🙏🏻

Just played along on thumb piano. Fun stuff!
We played this song down next to the river late one night back in the eighties while tripping on mescaline. It was like we left our bodies and joined the stars. I could have died right then and been alright with that...
Yes! This was when there was hope for peace.

Pretty cool video dude.
Just shows how trippy they can be...
I just can NEVER imagine ANY BS vocalist BUT OZZY singing this song. Only Ozzy has the right stuff to pull it off.
They must have been totally high while they made this song.
great audio!
Think this is my favourite Sabbath tune.
Thanx for the little UFO to fuck with my head when I'm baked haha
Awesome video!!! Spaceforce's theme song.
Why do I keep finding incorrect lyrics for this song? It's beams not tears. Clear as day.
My 10 yr old loves War Pigs, he's liking this one more now
Earth. The only place with known life and they pass by. Too much fighting and conflict. CHILL
Powerful song created when times were great sorry we all have to go through this bullshit we are going through now
KING WZRD
I want to find more trippy stuff like this for my writing. Any suggestion?
“Mars Doesn’t Feel Like Home Anymore” by the Longheads.
