The calm way and excellent pronunciation makes him a great teacher and he even inspired me to choose to study Biochemistry as a student . And definitely you need (advanced) American / English in this specialized field of measuring , checking and monitoring .. pH of blood or aquarium fish water for example . BTW I didnt know till now that it is the RP accent Mr. Attenborough is using , I always thought it was an academic sort of accent .. Oxford English I guessed (Maybe Oxford and RP accent are almost the same ?) He could have said in a voice over " This fish species has a rather common grey appearance, but appears to have beautiful iridescent scales when sun lit . " - Iridéscent = stems from Latin , " iris" meaning " rainbow " .
