Stunning and the music just made of so divine to watch👌🏾
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
So much wisdom for such a young woman!😁 I wish I had this advice when I had started sewing in my mid twenties. Now 63 years old and this old dog is learning new tricks!😂 I have seen this pattern and it is so my style but, worried I could not pull it off. After your video, I have gained the confidence to at least try. Thanks!
Aww, thank you! 💜 I am so happy to her this all encouraged you to try the dress out for yourself. I personally feel it is very wearable, and if you already know it is exactly your style, I say trust your instincts! ✨I am sure it will turn out fantastic!
I loved your presentation! Just music and sewing and reading when i need to. Sometimes voices and personalities get in the way.
Thank you so much! 😊 💜
The cinematic music is nice and relaxing. 💗
Yay, I am so glad to hear this! 😁
The material is pretty. The dress turned out very nicely.

Also thank you for the calm background music!
Thank you so much!
well done you. I like your discussion about pushing through while maintaining respect for the project and taking the time necessary to do all the things that result in a beautiful make. Sage advice.

Wow, what a beautiful dress!!!! You look fantastic in it. 👏
Thank you so much, you are so kind!
I do love the style of this dress,it is very flattering. Thank you for filming all the sewing, it's very helpful as a beginner, I've just finished my first dress (sewing project).
My pleasure, and I am glad the video is helpful. Kudos to you for completing your first dress! 👏🏼✨
Sehr schönes Kleid!
Danke!
Very accurated. Amazing fabric ❤
Thank you! 😊
Loved it!
Thank you!!
Such lovely fabric! Congratulations on your completed dress.🎊
Thank you! 😊
The dress looks good
Thank you!
I’m so glad you pushed through to the end. Luckily, Big 5 patterns have a lot of ease so extending your panels by using less SA was clever! Great job!
So true! Thank you! ✨
Great job Cleo😊❤😊
Thank you! 😄
Very pretty!
Thank you! 😊
A very pretty dress! I need to practice gathering more. My thread usually breaks. I always enjoy the music you choose. So relaxing.
Thank you! 😊 And I can relate to gathering. I feel like it takes way too long! There are some other techniques I will prob try next time. 💜✨
Zigzag over dental floss instead of cotton thread...makes gathering easier
A lot of work but paid off!
Yes indeed! 😁💜
It’s beautiful 😍
Thanks so much!
I love how it came out. Just got this pattern yesterday, and just happened to come across your video making it! Really like your channel.
I'm so glad, and thank you so much!
Thank you, I am making this and found it very helpful ❤
You bet, and glad it was helpful! ✨💜

Thank you so much!
Wow, I love the dress - good job👍
Thanks so much 😊
Beautiful
You are so kind, thank you! 💐
Cute on you. I’m 65 and only 5 foot tall. All those tiers would I think cut me off and make me look even shorter. Maybe too young looking for me too but it looks great on you.
I don’t know-shorter tiers can work! I am just over 5’4” (5’5” on a good day) this wasn’t too bad length-wise. But then I am always shortening pants and lengthening dresses, so… 😄💜
I'm always around for pockets.
Pockets are a must these days!
Beautiful work and I am learning so much from you. Can you tell me approx. how long this took to sew?
Yes great question! I think it was over the course of a couple of days, dedicated to completing it before a dinner! Fabric was washed ahead of time, and pressed, etc. Not overly time consuming. 🙏💜
I just bought this pattern today. Can you tell me what size you chose (and what size you normally wear) and did it fit as expected? Is this dress suitable for sweater fabric?
I absolutely love your dress...but what do you honestly think about it?
I am glad you asked these questions! I made mine in pattern size 12, even though my measurements would have me at 14 or even 16. That said, know your body and how things tend to fit for you. I am smaller/flatter on top, bigger in the lower half so with all of the ease in the finished garment, it wasn’t too risky. I love the dress! I still wish I sorted out the fabric better for the tiers, so if I made it again, I’d do it as the pattern calls for, not kind of hacky. -For sweater fabric, it might be okay for a top, but I imagine at the maxi length it might hang and stretch a bit too from the weight of the fabric.
@cleow thank you...I bought some fabric at the thrift shop to make this with...just to figure out how to make the pattern fit me. I wear "just above my ankle" length dresses daily, but I wanted something a little different...I'm afraid of it being a bit low cut, and how can I fix that. I wear very modest clothing, but sometimes I think I look like everyone else... I want to be modest but change up my pattern some and my fabrics....I don't wear prints often, so I have to get creative....thank you for sharing your thoughts 😉
What size did you make and what size are you normally? Bust/jeans. Thanks!
Great question! I made pattern size 12. My measurements typically would be bust 36-38, and hip 40-41. According to the chart I should have picked 14, or 16, but I checked out the finished garment measurements, too, and what I kind of anticipated for fit. I hope this helps you decide! 💜
Does the sizing run really small?? I see you making a size 12 but you don’t look size 12.
I started making this in size 12 and now I realise this won’t fit me 😢 luckily I have smaller friends 😂
Great question, and sizing expectations can be tough to navigate! I use the pattern measurements instead of sizing numbers. Measurement charts, and finished garment measurements are more helpful predictable. For Simplicity and McCalls I tend to fall into their pattern sizes 12-14 for tops and 14-16 for bottoms. This is different from retail/ready to wear sizing, definitely. I’ve also been in the same boat making too small of a size so I give those to my daughter! 😆
Frankly, I don't think you needed the bottom flounce. The dress is dreamy.
I agree with you! 👍I left the seam unfinished in case I decide to remove it. 😁
