    This has to be the best youtube channel for reverse engineers and the advice given on this video is just so true, I actually started out knowing nothing in terms of assembly but i had one important thing and that is a goal, I wanted to make a server emulator for a game I used to play as a kid and was so determined to do it that i downloaded IDA and x64dbg and just put countless hours debugging through piles of instructions that i had no clue what they meant but just like you guys said in the video simply doing it regardless is the best thing that you could do because I personally learned so many things and my dream has just come true and I made it a reality only because i pushed through it, so yeah that's actually good advice and i recommend everyone to just do it and everything else will naturally come along the way. Good Content Man I LOVE THIS CHANNEL ❤

    It's way easier to get started reversing now. I remember the days when material like this just wasn't available, and you really had to be motivated to learn on your own. No hand holding lol.

    Lol, the doing it live almost screamed at me as "Good luck", too stoned.

      Thanks for the feedback, was curious to know if ppl would enjoy these. I just wanted to try something a bit different for the holidays. We will have more technical tutorials in the new year, but for now just talking heads : )

    I'm a computer science and asked myself the same question how to start {Reverse Engineering } , in short if you already computer science like me so you need to learn assemble if you don't learn before , in order to use what you have learned to understand the instructions in the disassemblers application like x96dbg and other debugger next step you need to practice long time where this field is very time consuming to have a basic experience , the book I recommended for anyone to start with is [Mastering Reverse Engineering Re-engineer your ethical hacking skills by Reginald Wong ] , this book will put your foot on the right path.

    I would basically just tell people to start with PMA and go from there. Would love to see some other books people suggest too though.

    • @OALABS
      @OALABS  ปีที่แล้ว

      We discussed this a bit on stream too... consensus was that, though showing some age, PMA is still a pretty decent book. Also it turns out none of us really like to read technical books 😅😅

      lol, the irony is Karsten wrote a ton of RE tools in Java and they are all excellent 😂
