- How do I get started reverse engineering? How did our guests get started, and what are some steps you can take?

Big thanks to all the reverse engineers who helped us put this together!

This has to be the best youtube channel for reverse engineers and the advice given on this video is just so true, I actually started out knowing nothing in terms of assembly but i had one important thing and that is a goal, I wanted to make a server emulator for a game I used to play as a kid and was so determined to do it that i downloaded IDA and x64dbg and just put countless hours debugging through piles of instructions that i had no clue what they meant but just like you guys said in the video simply doing it regardless is the best thing that you could do because I personally learned so many things and my dream has just come true and I made it a reality only because i pushed through it, so yeah that's actually good advice and i recommend everyone to just do it and everything else will naturally come along the way. Good Content Man I LOVE THIS CHANNEL ❤
It was an awesome evening, thanks a lot for organizing it.
I was a bit overwhelmed and forgot to pay my respects to Rattle and Jordan or simply properly greet them o.O X*
Thanks for joining!! I turned out better than I could have hoped thanks to you and everyone who helped out!

So thankful for you channel mate, it's a HUGE help, please keep going!
Simply the best RE content on the web period. Right here! Happy New Years doodz!
Really enjoyed this, love everyone's perspective
It's way easier to get started reversing now. I remember the days when material like this just wasn't available, and you really had to be motivated to learn on your own. No hand holding lol.
Lol, the doing it live almost screamed at me as "Good luck", too stoned.
thanks man, i pick up some advice from your video, going apply it in my learning path.
"Being investible," great advice!
Love it!
Thanks for joining!!
I like this podcast like setup. I listened to this on the way to work.
Thanks for the feedback, was curious to know if ppl would enjoy these. I just wanted to try something a bit different for the holidays. We will have more technical tutorials in the new year, but for now just talking heads : )
I'm a computer science and asked myself the same question how to start {Reverse Engineering } , in short if you already computer science like me so you need to learn assemble if you don't learn before , in order to use what you have learned to understand the instructions in the disassemblers application like x96dbg and other debugger next step you need to practice long time where this field is very time consuming to have a basic experience , the book I recommended for anyone to start with is [Mastering Reverse Engineering Re-engineer your ethical hacking skills by Reginald Wong ] , this book will put your foot on the right path.
Awesome!
thank you for this kind of content, RE seems hard to get into
this is gold
hell yea
nice
i already have the right hair style for RE
Aerodynamic! Faster disassembling!
🧡💜🖤❤️
I would basically just tell people to start with PMA and go from there. Would love to see some other books people suggest too though.
We discussed this a bit on stream too... consensus was that, though showing some age, PMA is still a pretty decent book. Also it turns out none of us really like to read technical books 😅😅
Who the hell wants to be reverse engineer? NO ONE! Everybody wants to be L33t G1g4Ch4D H4ck3rS
Well behaved 🤣😂😈😅😎🤗
Yeah not Java unless you are comfortable wearing a suit while coding.
lol, the irony is Karsten wrote a ton of RE tools in Java and they are all excellent 😂
