@@ManzaiCH there's a lot of disputes as to where doubles and triples start. Maynard called the first octave above C two ledger lines above the staff "high" the other octave became the "doubles". I call notes based on what note it is for a trumpet. As in, we have a low G, and a middle G/tuning G, so the next G would be a high G. Then a double G and so on. So this way would make the changes start at F#s So to me, that's a double E
Holy shit moment: when you max out your earbuds just to hear the music in its full glory, but then you hear MICHAEL’S FUCKING HEARTBEAT because the GoPro is STRAPPED TO HIS CHEST
@@jace123453 For him it's a double e. I consider a double e the first one above the staff and the triple e the one he played. It's just based opinionated.
When you use the term double to describe the trumpet octave, you are referring to anything above double F# (which we have simplified to being double G for some reason) making what he played a double E not a triple E
The lowest regular note on trumpet is a low F#. By this measure, the last low (F first space on staff), middle, high, and double is the F. F# would be the first low, middle, high, double, triple, etc. Another definition is designating low C1 (line below staff) as the beginning, C2 in the staff is Middle C, C3 two lines above the staff is high C, next is double C4. That would make notes below C1 noted a B0, and so on. This is how it is measured on piano and universally measured. Many very good lead players I know accept double starts the C two octaves aboce C in the middle of the staff. A synonym for Double is Super. Another way to view it is G3, one octave above the top staff G2, isn't that special of a noter, not a super G, but the C above that note is definitely Super. By every measure reasonable measure, he hits a Double E, Super E.
I know I'm three years late lol, but If you are talking about the double/triple E that Michael hits, I'd assume that it was written in as part of the show considering that the original Peter Gabriel cover of "My Body is a Cage" (the song they play in the ballad) features the main vocalist hitting a similar high note and hanging over after everyone else has stopped playing. That's my assumption at least.
It's a mouthpiece berp, a thing you put your mouthpiece into while holding the actual trumpet to better emulate the feel of playing while buzzing. You can also control the resistance it has
I got this, hold my beer.
*Goes for triple e, faints*
I Need Milk *double

So to me, that's a double E
It's an E7. You an call a double E if you think a middle C is a C4 and not a piano middle C3.
Carlos Hernandez e7 on trumpet ofc so in reality d7 on piano
A triple E, one of the highest notes ever to be hit in a DCI show.
The Munching Birch Tree Of The Southern Ports double e*
*the highest
That's not a double e lol. A double E is only two notes above a high c.
You're right, what do I know?
jack sagri It was definitely a double e
Xd the drum line has the same shorts lol that caught me off guard for a sec 2:32
That solo is the most unbelievable thing I had ever heard when I first saw it. Absolutely unreal
Did you ever get a cam of the rest of the show? This is so amazing too but I’d love to hear your entire experience in the show
Never heard the chimes before. Wow!
Holy shit moment: when you max out your earbuds just to hear the music in its full glory, but then you hear MICHAEL’S FUCKING HEARTBEAT because the GoPro is STRAPPED TO HIS CHEST
This is so moist
This guys a legend
OH BABY A TRIPLE (e)!!!!!!
Oh yeah
it's a double e, even the soloist said it was a double e

alien It’s a triple e by any standards unless you can play a triple e then be my guest
I love the trumpet shake too
mmmmmm i've been waiting for this since finals
I love this ballad so much, thank you for this!

That note though 😎
I absolutely loved this!
Can you post the whole show?

we better see you hit that triple g 💀
Adan MCMXCV rip
thank you, very cool!
When you use the term double to describe the trumpet octave, you are referring to anything above double F# (which we have simplified to being double G for some reason) making what he played a double E not a triple E
Remember, double notes on trumpet, due to it’s range, have 3 octaves below them, the E he played only has 2 real octaves below it on the trumpet
Idk every one defines it differently so it’s hard

chimes go crazy
Yo if you are still in contact with whoever played the chimes I gotta know what the notes for that are, that shit goes fucking crazy
Do you have the rest of it? :D
So was this written into the original show music or did you just do it and it was put in?
Unknown Artist I’d really like to know the answer here too lol

What mouthpiece are you playing on?
Nolt Bach 1E
At 2:12, why does the trumpet on the left jerk forward
Probably a cut-off for the note he was playing.
That’s how he cut off the note
I can’t even hit that note. And I’m a clarinet player who can play a Double C 😤
@@ChiptuneDCI As a clarinet player, definitely not necessary. I can get up there on my regular 3.5+. Fast air and proper voicing are your friends.

What is the plastic thing where the mouthpiece is?
drew 2442 it’s called a berp or mouthpiece holder. It’s so you can do mouthpiece exercises without having to put the Horn to the side

When do you age out
Just saw him tonight during practice, hes the GOAT
He was a senior in high school in 2017 so I'm guessing he's about 19. He's got two years.
Damn I wonder what this year is gonna be like
I age out in 2022!!
Damn you’ve got a while
Did you march your age out?
I think his age out was 2020/2021 so no
Go bows
DUDE!!!!!!
What mouthpiece?
7C
Bach 1E, not a 7C
JuanCoboss lmao

Global_ Iron haha who is this?

I hit it somehow even though I play baritone 😂 almost passed out but I did it
Months ago I managed to squeak it out on my trombone for a second but I have only gotten to a Bb twice since then
Put some clothes on.
