If as suggested below you add "classic movies" I'd suggest Zulu (introducing Michael Caine) based on actual events with real people. Fun Fact. The actor playing the Zulu King is actually his direct descendant! The movie doesn't say "these are the good guys and these are the bad" you have to look at the history yourself.
I think what makes you stand out is your intrinsive thoughts of the things you react to. It is always satisfiying to see the thinking process of someone else just like you.

Second, its completely okay to not have career goals even after finishing multiple university degrees, or even ever. There are so many ways to live and all of them are correct. I am in a similar situation and honestly it's good to see people dealing with it as well. Uni was hard as I'm a mega introvert . It took me a fare bit of time where I could just sit down and watch a movie without analysing all the things they got right and wrong . I was raised Christian Catholic but now I like to be a believer in God and God is neither male nor female God is God and is the stuff of everything that's ever has been or will be . Hi Hannah. Like you I am a history nerd and I write history-rich fiction novels, having published three books. (Ten written and waiting.) I really enjoyed your Firefly journey, and hopefully, soon, I'll catch up with The Expanse. Upon listening to your criteria regarding meaningful themed shows that incorporate Christian or religious foundations, might I suggest Warrior Nun. I hate giving away plot details, so all I will say is that Warrior Nun is based on the bible, has biblical characters and is so much deeper than the reviews suggest. Those who do not understand the meaning think this show is teenage fluff, which it most certainly is not. The music, cinemaphotography, character development and storyline are superb. WN enjoyed a perfect Rotten Tomatoes rating for a long time, but alas the uninformed have spoiled that now. (Currently 97% audience score.) The show was cancelled after two seasons, but due to the fan's outcry, (like Firefly) a movie trilogy is in the works. If you haven't seen Simon Barry's other masterpiece, Continuum, you should. Here's a deal. Start a Patreon, react to the two seasons of Warrior Nun (18 eps) and I'll be the first aboard, AND I will pay extra tier for the privilege. Sorry if this is disjointed, but I'm sure you can follow the threads. I could write a book about the similarities. LOL. Jesus died to save mankind. (Easter applicable) I quote. "Warrior Nun's die so others might live." So, Ava is Jesus. Jillian's portal is powered by Ava and prayer and is a gateway to heaven. In the bible, prayer / belief / Jesus are the pathways to God / heaven. Michael the Arch Angel was sent to earth to help protect God's people. The Devil is a fallen angel, who was banished to hell by God. Adriel is that fallen angel and hell is the catacombs beneath The Vatican. lol. The Tarasks are heaven's gatekeepers (good guys, not bad monsters) and of course Raya is God. The bible mentions Lilith as the "Winged creature of the night" and our Lilith says "A great battle is coming" which of course references Armageddon from the book of Revelation. In the end, God defeats the devil, Ava dies, goes to heaven, rises again on the third day, (the glowing sword is proof) and the battle for earth is set. This is a wonderful parallel story incorporating the biblical message, where good defeats evil and humans are saved through Jesus's sacrifice.

But personally, I think going beyond calling it analogy would be akin to blasphemy. Jesus was the spotless lamb, the son of God who did no wrong. Ava does not fit that description. As I said, it would be interesting to see what Hannah thinks about it.
