Nothing fills my heart with joy like this. Pure nostalgia. Whole album is great. One Hundred Years and Figurehead are stand-outs for me. And also Charlotte Sometimes is a must-hear track, but it was only a single, not on this album. Also I want to suggest the band Twin Tribes. Modern day band, but sounds very 80's Cure etc. Check their video for song Monolith. Amazing!
If you want to listen to doomer track try The figurehead and Cold or one hundred years from the same Album 'Pornography", or Splintered in her head with heavy bass and bizarre drums, if you want just sad but melodic songs try All cats are grey, The drownin man , Charlotte Sometimes same Era (1981) or A strange day from Pornography, for Eerie stuf try Other voices, The holly hour....
Probably the happiest track on the album. This is a monster of an album - The songs Figurehead and Cold are amazing, dark and alluring. One of the best albums of the 80's.
Agreed, this is a darker album. All The Cure's albums are unique and I have yet to listen to any of their music that is bad. Disintegration, Pornography, Seventeen Seconds, Wish (You can listen to them back to back and start over, they never get old)
Robert Smith has been systematically re-releasing The Cure back catalogue with a selection of out-takes, demos, remixes, etc., but very little Cure session material has been released officially (only a couple of Peel session 12” EPs on Strange Fruit Records of very early sessions). I've a double LP record collection compilation of sessions recorded entitled.. “Early BBC Sessions 1979-1985″, containing a mix of session material from John Peel, Kid Jensen and Richard Skinner ☘ xx
The Cure.. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019! The Cure longevity in the music industry is perpetual timeless legacy of musical euphoria :) The greatest artist in history in what The Cure achieved in 4 decades worldwide in terms of historical culture. The Cure’s influence extends far beyond the realm of music. They have inspired countless artists, writers, and even fashion trends. Their gothic aesthetics and emotional depth have left an indelible imprint on popular culture. Moreover, The Cure’s messages of introspection, love, and human vulnerability resonate deeply with listeners, making their music a cathartic experience for many. The only UK single outside the E.U to reach a mainstream chart. Robert Smith has always been a ‘purveyor of filmic ambience’ (Bracewell), and the music on Pornography convey mood through striking images (‘voodoo smile… siamese twins’) An exercise in sheer morbid indulgence. The metaphysical artist's sub-culture musicality is the definition of chemistry makestyles. The generation X effect evolution :)
thanks a lot for the reaction my dear !!! it's one of my favorite Cure song from my favorite Cure album , you should react to it sometimes (it's only 8 tracks ).and I know why it sounds familiar to you : remember "a night like this" ? well , it's the exact same bass line !!! play the 2 songs back to back and you'll understand.apart from the entire Pornography lp reaction , i'd love to see you react to "the drowning man" , "the holy hour" or "faith" wich are from their Faith LP (released just before Pornography) - well , thanx again and have a nice well deserved holiday !!!
Oh, somehow I always knew you're an Ostrogoth at heart. Siamese Twins is perhaps the seventh best track on Pornography. Just begin with One Hundred Years and go forth...if you're able. It Is a monumental album.
Simon Gallup's bass lines are phenomenal. ✌
The beat and bass guitar is really unique on this song i always thought
Amazing track, the entire album is superb, my favorite tracks for me is One Hundred Years and then Hanging Garden.
The Cure blow me away when I was in high school! Check out Pictures of You. 🤞✌
Fenomenalno❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Thanks so much for the recommendations! I'll , of course, listen to more of The Cure, and I'll make sure to check out Twin Tribes!

This song is haunting and the sound is so unique. The cure does not have a bad album or song. Robert Smith is a genius.
More of songs like this- Almost anything from the Pornography album and Faith album esp., 'All Cats Are Grey'..
Been a Cure fan for decades and this is first time I've heard this. :)

My proportion of records sourced are physical CD imports from the UK. Which we'd be more custom dependent rather then EU single market.

Oh you're right, the bass lines are identical! Thanks for the recommendations, I'll see if I can fit a full LP reaction into my schedule...
Wow amazing reaction. Another good song here is "Strange Day"

You have lisent "cold", in the same álbum, its most beautifull and dark song
I JUST listened to "Cold"! I'll upload that video in a day or two.
