    I have another updated video: th-cam.com/video/WlIbI2e5Qcw/w-d-xo.html
    The one thing I changed my mind own is to practice FULLY BOOSTING from the start for the first 5 levels of neon rings. I think this will you learn it even more efficiently.
    One more thing I forgot to mention: if you air roll left, move your stick counter clockwise direction, if you air roll right, move it clockwise!

    Very efficient method to get good at air roll. Here is my feedback:
    I've started about a month ago on this map, doing air roll with adjustment with hood facing front only, then back only, then left, then right. Then trying to incorporate the 4 steps made it very difficult, the gap is consequent. Eventually I still worked on it, but at relatively low speed, with a lot of feathering on the boost: not optimal at all because when you air roll in game, it must be fast and accurate, so no time to do 5 complete rolls to get in the correct position to hit the ball.
    This is where I started to find people on youtube displaying the controller to understand how to constantly adjust with the joystick.
    Well it's too hard to analyse. And that's why your video, explain that you have to "try hard" to get your brain used to it, is actually the best advise I've seen. It takes some effort to keep trying a couple of hours but it turns out to be very very effective. In a few hours (split in 10-20 min sessions to not burn out), I get the mechanic much better than the last 30 hours spent doing small adjustments like I said above and where my brain was comfortable (ish :) ).
    Thanks for giving such mindful advise on this tough mechanic

    Hey just wanted to say man, thank you for this video. I’ve been practicing rings using the other guys method of watching the hood and going slow and thinking constantly. Done that off and on for about two months and while it does kinda work for going through rings slowly, it doesn’t actually teach anything about control. Tried your method above the past few days and after 3000 deaths just gunning it like you said, I’m starting to do things that I don’t understand but work well. I’m starting to feel glimmers of control, true control.
    I am sold on this method and I am throwing myself at it this month. In a few days I’ve seen more progress then two months and many wasted hours watching that damn hood of my car and flicking in a direction

      @@TheFirstAxiom I was actually going to drop a message on here with an update. This method is legit awesome. I have made HUGE progress. I haven’t got the time or patience to put in 30 hours over a few days like you did but I have put that in over the last month in smaller training sessions and I can now do the first 7-10 levels of neon heights with continuous air roll and almost full boost. My level of control has massively increased. I’ve mixed it in with practicing double taps and air roll shots/air dribble and all of that has improved massively
      This method is by far the best method for learning this. I’m doing so many things now with my car that I don’t even understand but my brain just instinctively does.
      Top tip for others trying this, you’re going to be tempted to let go of air roll and correct your car. Don’t do this while training this initially. Just fail. Never let go of air roll. And over time your brain will map all the routes out of any position. I noticed In my first ten hours I kept letting go of air roll in tough spots. Once I got rid of that habit and battled through, I noticed a huge leap in my muscle memories understanding of what to do in different car positions.
      Thanks again man, you’re unlocking a whole new area of gameplay for me

      @@TheFirstAxiom Hey Axiom! I wanted to say that this is the best teaching method for car control, period. I started out Day 1 on Lethamyr's Neon Rings Map with 1,000+ deaths, only to not even complete Level 2. After the hour or so, I said enough. Threw in the towel. But, I stuck with it and surprisingly each day I halved my deaths! After shy of a week, I can now complete Level 1 - 3 in less than 10 deaths in 2-minutes with ARR. Whereas Level 4 - 5 takes roughly 10 - 20 deaths in 3-minutes. Massive improvement! Applying this in freeplay has made Air Dribbles, Double Taps, Ceiling Shots, and so on much easier. I wouldn't say I'm a master. Definitely will continue to practice 1-hour everyday on a variety of ring maps. Especially since I'm weak in ARL. But, I wanted to share my appreciation man. This is actually insane.
    I watched your video last night after work. I had downloaded rings maps on my work pc to give them a try for the first time.
    Id been trying to learn air roll for about 3 months using the 'singular imput' method. I had made a little bit of progress over that time but still felt extremely clunky and reactionarry with directional air roll.
    I just spent a few minutes attempting to learn your way. And while am still essentially flairling with no control, I immediately can tell this is a FAR better way to learn.
    Im simply attempting to fly from one goal post to the other as a start. (I dont have a pc at home so rings is only an option for me like once a week for now) Once I had pulled it off once, i could feel this sort of click id never felt with air roll before. Not thinking about car position or anything, but FEELING like I had somehow controlled the chaos instinctively. Ive spent the last 10 minutes just drilling this way and the control starts coming way faster.
    I could NOT do this fully boosting with my original method of learning. Not even close. But this just somehow feels easier.
    I will be spending a LOT of time with this one. Thank you for giving me a new way to approach this mechanic.

      @TheFirstAxiom update.
      I've had 3 sessions with neon rings so far. Collectively about 2000 deaths. I just made it through level 3 for the second time fully boosting fully air rolling.
      The sharp turn at the top of level 3 gives me a lot of trouble, and the subsequent left turn is the first real left turn so I had a few attempts where I made the hairpin but couldn't recover to make the left turn after.
      But anyway, overall seeing progress, this has been really enjoyable.

    • @DefOfDopeProductions
      @DefOfDopeProductions 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @TheFirstAxiom Update. I didn't get to touch rings again until about 2 weeks ago. Have been putting in some decent time with it since getting a PC at home again. Anyway. The gains have been exponential. I can link the first several levels of most rings maps now, including ones I have never seen before. On neon and medieval I can do it boosting the entire time now. Finally started incorporating some air roll into my games. This along with some other training has given tangible dividends in game. I've gone up from Plat to diamond in 1s and from d1 to d3 in 2s this season.
      Thank you again. I will keep grinding. 😊

    @PauloCosta-jw6ox ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I had some experience with the other videos, just trying to throttle at the right spots during a certain time in a rotation. I could get up to level 7 with the lame approach.
    Then I tried constant boosting just level 1. Oh man, so much harder. It took me 660 deaths and 55 minutes just to pass level 1, but now I can totally get what he is saying in the video.
    First one felt like a fluke.
    Second one: 366 deaths and 35 minutes. Felt a bit like a fluke.
    Third one: 100 deaths (yea, exactly) and 9 min in. A little less like a fluke, but still no confidence.
    I'll stop here because the main thing I need to improve is height control and the next levels seem better for that.
    But honestly, the brain is amazing. Feels dumb like guess and check and then suddenly you learn a new maneuver and it feels nice. Much more fun to practice. Expect to get level 1 with only boost in 2k+ tries if you are new to this.

    ive been doing one hour a day of what the first axiom has described, which is continuously boosting while ALWAYS holding air roll left and using analog over and over and i can say for sure that ive been making progress.
    day 1 - i couldnt finish level 1 - it felt like i would never ever get it.
    day 2 - still couldnt finish level 1 - but i was starting to notice what some directions do depending on the way my car is facing.
    day 3 - i finished level 1 finally - now it felt like i was back to 0% progress because when you reach a new level you have to learn a different path so it becomes difficult again.
    day 4 - i consistently complete level 1 - starting to understand how to go down and to the right thanks to level 2.
    --- *i'm going to make my updates less often otherwise itll take me forever to type it out when i could really be practing DAR.* ---
    day 9 - i finally completed level 2! now level 3 seems insane. you have to go high up and to the right. my brain understands how to do it.
    day 12 - im still on level 3. but im understanding it a lot more now. i have way more muscle memory and i can recover much easier. ive started to use the forward analog more often now as before i was using back on the analog which would make it harder. also when i watch these videos they all seem to use forward left and right the most. i finally understand what they mean when they talk about rotating the analog. sometimes you can rotate the analog anticlockwise completely with good timing and keep yourself going. i havent fully grasped it but its super helpful sometimes.
    day 15 - just passed level 3! i can pass level 1 usually first or second try now. and level 2 quite shortly after (sometimes) im definitely not consistent at all yet but the progress is 100% there

This way you catch the car in the "neutral" spot, meaning you are in a balanced spot in terms of timing in relation to the car and you can again manipulate the timing to turn either direction (anticipate vs delay). Also its smaller circles rather that full circles with the joystick that you should do to get the feeling of it. It sort of feels like you are balancing/pushing/pulling the car through the timing and tempo manipulation and you stay constantly in the feed back loop instead of going in and out and having to think about individual adjustments. Something like that.

    Hey! It's a great tutorial! I've been practicing these last couple of days and I'm already seeing lots of improvement!. However, I've been noticing that I am able to complete some levels by using one of the 4 joystick coordinates, up-right, up-left, down-right, down-left, just by moving the joystick in circles at that single coordinate in specific. My question is, how do you know which one of the four coordinates to use? How to know when to combine them? Do you have any advice? Also, is the aerial and controlling sensitivity important when learning this new mechanic? Thank you!

    • @TheFirstAxiom

      i think it may have to do with neon rings having rings that go mostly right the beginning. As you start to explore other levels or other maps, you'll notice that you're forced to use different coordinate combinations

    • @TheFirstAxiom

      Hi. Glad to see you're making progress. Start to force yourself to rotate the stick as you fully boost through the rings in order to stay as close to the center of the rings as possible while going full speed. This will force you to utilize the full range of the stick instead of sticking to one side. It's going to seem really hard at first but with time it'll become easier

    • @TheFirstAxiom

      yes, to put it simply, directional air rolling gives you superior aerial car control once you get it down. You can make micro adjustments to easily get your car exactly where you want. This is the reason almost all SSLs and Pros heavily use directional air rolling. Regular air rolling allows movement in 2 dimensions only, why directional allows 3.
